I think that the title, "The Pain in the Heart" is perfect for this episode. Though it is true that the episode may be quite rushed and made a somewhat fast conclusion to the season, it did indeed bring about a pain in the heart for the audience watching. I would say that the main focus of the episode was not simply the conclusion to the cannibilistic killings, but instead, the focus should be the departure of Zack from the team. In that way, the episode would definitely have evoked a pain in the heart in the audience.

The opening scene was surprising and it was so tempting to stop watching the series. However, it turned out to be really heart wrenching when Bones gave Booth a "passionate" punch to his face after he appeared out of nowhere at the funeral. It truly did show the depth of emotional connection they had with each other. And the way Bones demanded that she should have been personally contacted by Booth also suggested that she felt that she shared an extremely personal connection with him, which resulted in the need for her to be contacted by him regardless of the rules.

Even though the episode was rushed, perhaps due to certain circumstances, the producers managed to present it in a way that actually made sense to the audience and gave a complete conclusion to the season, which was very impressive work. A very special episode that made me feel the pain in my heart.
