Last season Nancy was caught between rival drug dealers in the season finale. This year the season ends with the Botwin family on the run both literally and proverbially. Nancy just cannot seem to escape her recurring issues trying to move up the drug dealing food chain. All she wants is not to be anyone's b*tch and to sell her product in peace to support her family. This season has seen Nancy elude the problems she had encountered in Season 2 but then a whole new set of conflicts have entered her life. Season 3 is very good but overall I thought Season 2 was better. The same goes for the season finales.

The episodes keep getting better and better. Agent Bly is putting the pressure on Michael to give up his quest of finding out who burned him and take an entry level job in Miami. Michael needs cash to combat Bly so he takes a job to help out a neighborhood where a mobster is shaking everyone down. Michael races against the escalating violence of the mobsters and Bly creating problems for Fiona and Sam. There are the usual twists and turns during the show not everything being as it seems. In the end, Michael defeats the mobsters, sets-up Bly and reconnects with Fiona. It seems for something good to happen sometimes you have to accept something bad has to happen.

Another exciting episode of a great summer series, this week we get to meet Michael’s brother and Michael helps out an old high school friend. Nate, Michael’s brother, is not a favorite of his brother. Seems Nate has a little gambling problem and has done things like sell Michael’s rental car to cover a debt. Nate hooks up Michael with an old high school friend who has not seen Michael since he left for the Army. The friend’s daughter is involved in a modeling turned prostitution scheme. Also, since Michael has been burned, some old enemies think he is an open target for payback. So while trying to save the girl, Michael must avoid a Czech hitman. The show has maintain its quick pace and bantering dialog. We get two a couple of new tricks again this week and well as another piece in the puzzle of why Michael was burned.

Oleg the landlord’s top server hasn’t come to work for a week and he is worried. So he asks Michael to “look into it”. For four months free rent, Michael will. Of course, the story is more complicated than it first appears. The server, who is a woman, witnessed a drug dealer severely beat a pizza delivery person. Now the dealer wants the witness eliminated. The major complication is the witness has a high school-aged daughter who really wants to go to the school dance. Michael must use all of skills and tricks to keep them safe until he can sort out the situation. Also, Fiona wants a key to Michael’s apartment so she doesn’t have to keep breaking in. The other subplot is an Egyptian agent who is an old contact of Michael’s who may be able to find out who is behind the burn notice.

In the first post-pilot episode, Michael must help the friend of his mother, Madeline, in order to get information needs from his mother. In order to do this he must con a conman, no easy feat. Again, this episode follows the premise of the burned agent using his skills to help those who can’t be helped by anyone else, while searching out information on who issued his burn notice. The story moves along quickly although not everything goes smoothly for Michael. The writers inject humor along with Michael’s seriousness. Also, there is a little tribute to Sharon Gless when Sam and Fiona portray themselves as detectives “Cagney and Lacey”. Nice touch! My one issue with the episode was that is was way too easy to return all the stolen money to everyone.
