To the beach!

One of the great things I love about living the Baltimore/Washington, DC area is that I am close to just about everything fun! It takes two hours to get to the beach, two hours to get to the mountains, 45 min to DC.... it's pretty convenient!

With that being said, I am off to the beach this weekend, leaving early tomorrow morning! The main beach in Maryland is called Ocean City and I've been going there since I was a little kid. Not much of the boardwalk has changed since then and all of the historic landmarks are still intact. It's a pretty nice beach town and I love it!

This time around, I'm going with three of my closest friends for an all girls weekend!!! I'm sure we're going to have lots of fun and since the weather is supposed to be gorgeous, I want to enjoy the sunshine!!!

On a tv.com note, I have been SUPER, SUPER busy at work and have hardly submitted anything this week and I've hardly been reading blogs and forum posts, so forgive me if I didn't get to your blogs this week. I barely have time to type this, LOL!!

Have a great day and weekend everyone!!!!

10 about me!

You knew you wanted to know 10 things about me.... so here we go!

1. I was born and raised in Baltimore, MD. I now live in the suburbs of the city and I still love the area!! It will always be my hometown and I can't see myself moving too far away from the area.

2. I once tried out for WWE Tough Enough 2! Made it to the semi-finals in Las Vegas, but screwed up my audition in the ring by falling over a weight bag and then screwing up my answer to a question asked by Ivory... "What is integrity?" Lets just say, my answer was incoherent, LOL! At least I can say I actually tried to do it! Oh, and they did show me on the casting special... falling!

3. I spent 12 years in parochial schools and I'm not a religious person at all anymore. I love to learn about different religions now and even though I think there is something greater out there, I don't know what it is.

4. I am a HUGE sports fanatic! Started with baseball, but now my love is football (American kind)! LOVE to play fantasy every year! I'm in a league with 11 guys and I usally kick butt!

5. I've traveled to many places in my lifetime so far, England, France, Switzerland, Germany, Jamaica, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Canada. I would like to visit Japan, Greece and Australia.

6. I'm addicted to chocolate and working out.

7. I believe that I am ready to get married...

8. I bought an SUV last July and am kicking myself for doing so now. Gas is just too expensive.

9. I love to talk politics, but I usually don't blog about them. Was a hardcore democrat before... but may be changing my views as of late.

10. I am a very big girly girl. Love to shop, love fashion and everything to do with it!

There you have it, not too exciting and definitely not giving you everything about myself... just a few tidbits!

Have a great day everyone!!!!

I LOVE Zack Morris!!!

Just picked up a new editorship today: Mark-Paul Gosselaar! He is best known for playing the wise-cracking, charming blonde on Saved by the Bell!!! I LOVED this show when I was younger! Who didn't look forward to Saturday mornings with the Bayside gang!!! He has since had many TV roles such as NYPD Blue, Hyperion Bay and has a new show coming out on TNT, Raising the Bar.

On another submitting note... I submitted a couple items for a singer that appeared on a recent soap, who I absolutely love. Two trivia items were accepted and the third was rejected due to guidelines on non-TV people since the singer was only in one episode. I figured that was the case, but then I went to her page again and now all of a sudden the singer has an editor with only one appearance listed on TV.com. I wish all mods accepted and rejected using the same guidelines... oh well! That was my rant for the day!

New episode of Swingtown tonight! Looks good too! If you aren't watching it yet, you should be! It's not only about swinging in the 70's, there are some good storylines!!!

Have a great day!!!!

Swingtown!

In my last blog, I wrote that I started watching Swingtown and today I picked up the editorship for it! From what I've been reading so far, not many like the show, but I happen to like it a lot! For those not familiar with the show, it is based in the 70's and it touches on the swinger sensation and sexual revolution of that decade. I LOVE the 70's so I knew I would like this show. It's an interesting concept for a show and it has a lot of possibilities.

On the swinger aspect though.... I had an ex-boyfriend that actually wanted ME to try that! I never did because that is not something I could do or would even want to do, but my ex actually went on to marry a very nice girl who happens to swing with him. I guess if it works for them and they are happy, good for them. Me, I'm glad I broke things off with that ex, because now I have John and there will be no swinging in our future!

Actually on that topic, does everyone remember that episode of Friends when Ross and Rachel make a list of famous people they are allowed to be with if they ever ran into them? It's funny, John and I always talk about the "list" which consists of five famous people that you will probably never run into, but just maybe... I'll have to think of that some more, LOL!

5K and a new show!!!

So, I finally made it to 5,000 submissions! Seemed like it was taking me forever to get there, but I finally did it today! I've been submitting a lot to Guiding Light helping out the editor, Boromirbeauty. She has given me a lot of assignments to make the guide complete and that has helped with submissions. I've also been contributing to my two other favorite soaps, General Hospital and Days of our Lives.

I picked up a new show too this week! Lipstick Jungle!

I'm very excited to pick this show up since this is my first real drama that is still on that is not a reality show! Season one was pretty good and I'm definitely looking forward to season two!

Started watching Swingtown as well. With the summer here, there's not a lot that I watch, so I thought I would give it a chance. Have seen episode one so far and so far it looks interesting. I love shows that are based in the 60's, 70's or 80's!

It's Sunday night and I really don't want to work tomorrow. John was out of town at Bonnaroo, which is a music festival in Tennessee, so I had from Wednesday until later tonight by myself. Went out with friends last night and did lots of errands today, but I'm ready for John to come home! It was a little lonely with just me and my pug, Zoe!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!!!

No matter how many times I watch this episode, I always cry like a baby at the end. Watching Mark say goodbye to his daughters and live out his last days in Hawaii is bittersweet and then the scene at the cemetery and all of the cast members and former cast members have gathered, it was so sad and poignant. The only thing missing was Carol and Doug. Too bad they couldn't lure them back for a cameo. Even the music that plays during the funeral brings a tear and I will watch this episode every time that it comes on. What a great episode!

It was great to see the reaction of the older women when the younger women came out. I'm glad they did not get phased and went right back to the task at hand: winning Mark. The younger women really disappointed me when all they could do was make fun of being an "older, desperate" woman looking for love. They better hope that karma doesn't come bite them back later in life. It was great to hear Mark say that he missed the older women. I look forward to seeing who he ends up with.

Wow! What an episode!!! Survivor has become a little stale in the last couple of years, but I still watched it. Last night's episode was so great! With Alex using the immunity idol when he didn't have to and watching his, Edgardo and Mookie's expressions as the votes were read were priceless! Never have I enjoyed a vote more! Poor Edgardo, he really had not made any enemies, was just riding mastermind Alex's coattails and he is blindsided! I wish they had voted Mookie off though. Seeing the previews for next week, I really hope they don't steal Yau Man's immunity idol!

Now that there are only 8 episodes left, they have a lot of work to do to try to end this series. The basic plot of Tony, Carmela, Janice and Bobby celebrating Tony's b-day went on for too long. It was amusing however to watch Bobby kick the crap out of Tony. I think they could have gone a different route with the thrown-away gun. That gun could have been used as a better plot device other than that of a teenager picking it up to show off to his friends. What if one of Johnny Sacks men had found it? That would have been more interesting. One story that will be interesting as it evolves is that of AJ and Blanca. Is she in it for the money? Most-assuredly!
I'll be tuning in for the remaining 8 episodes, I just hope to see some of my favorite characters and also to see some resolution.

This episode had me gasp, had me get teary-eyed and made me laugh all in the same hour. What a tremendous episode. It was great to see them get back to the football aspect. What a tremendous game and an even greater win. Watching Coach Taylor fight for home-field advantage was great and then watching the Panthers come back to a victory was sweet. I actually gasped when Tyra was grabbed. I am glad that they didn't have her raped.
I got teary-eyed just watching the aftermath of the win and when Julie jumped on Matt, it was so sweet and special that the tears just came to my eyes (I'm an emotional girl, LOL). Probably one of my favorite episodes this season.
