I first saw an episode back in 1996 with the episode, "The Xena Scrolls", I chocked it up as being a silly series. I caught additional episodes, but I never settled in until 1999 when I saw, "Been There, Done That" on the USA channel.

I was instantly hooked. From there on, I've watched the series religiously for next two and a half seasons, and I continue to watch it every now and then.

The acting was good, the writing was good (even if, historically inaccurate, but who cares?), the filming was topnotch.

If you never seen the series, I suggest checking out the Xena: 10th Anniversary DVD set. It'll get your feet wet with the series.

I should point out, that this episode was not considered as a possible contender for the series finale. It shouldn't even be on this episode guide, as it was never filmed. It was dropped from the production schedule early on in the 6th season.

Anyways, the episode itself centers around the birth of human civilization. Think, Planet of the Apes, Jurrassic Park and Flintstones all rolled into one.

Alti makes a return. Nothing like a cavewoman Xena to liven things up a bit in the good ol' Xenaverse.

The script is available online, you just have to search around for it. It was definitely the best script out of the three that were written and never made for the 6th season.

I have to say, that I called this ending back in November 2000 when we first learned that that the conclusion of the series would be set in Japan.

Together with a couple of friends, we put our collective ideas and came out with what we thought would be how Rob Tapert and Company would end the series. Needless to say, we weren't far off the mark.

A lot of people diss the episode because of the the plotholes, not like the previous episodes, etc. Well, if one were to look at the 132 previous episodes, you'll see gapping plotholes that just kill the episode. Yet, those episodes are passed over.

I personally found the episode to be profound, true to the nature of the series and the definite way to end the series.
