Pray For You
Futile things I've learned this week...
1) Nobody has a copy of the soundtrack to "The Professional: Golgo 13". I spent hours and hours and hours sifting through the internet trying to find information on it, and have found this much:
A) The singer of the theme was Cindy Wood, who may or may not be the Playboy Playmate.
B) The end theme is called "Golgo 13 and I".
C) There's an incidental song called "Love's Mistery". Yes, with an I.
D) The movie came out May 28th, 1983.
I did find a Japanese site apparently selling the old vinyl single for the three songs, but whether they'll understand me when I ask them if they still have it in stock or not is beyond me. And some schmoe on Last.fm has one of the songs on his playlist, but it's probably some audio rip from the movie itself. A waste of my time, through and through!
2) "Smokey and the Bandit Part II" is a really, really crummy film, and an even worse sequel. But Jackie Gleason was as funny as ever, so I decided to see if anyone had some find of fan copy of the unreleased part 3 version called "Smokey IS the Bandit". Several hours of searching turned up nothing, save for one guy mentioning he saw a blooper reel with scenes from it. Is said reel anywhere online? Of course not! So, I figured, hey, someone has to have a picture of Jackie Gleason playing Burt Reynolds' role of the Bandit, right? Again, hours and hours and EONS of searching turn up nothing. But I did learn Gleason appeared in the Bandit costume on an episode of "Entertainment Tonight" back around the time of the movie's filming. How does that help me? It doesn't. More wasting of my time!

Yo Tengo La Magia
You know what's disturbing? The icons here on TV.com. Way too many guys have girls for their icons, and vice versa. When I read a forum post or something, that image is subconsciously reflected back to me as how they "look". Way too many guys want to be identified as women, I tell ya.
Speaking of women, I'd be doing a show guide for Nubeluz on TV.com right now... if, you know, I actually spoke Spanish... and the episodes actually had titles... and I had more than 100 episodes of 10 Billion total there were...
You Better You Bet
I revived my old Power Rangers Spoiler Warnings site, at last:
sirstack.db-destiny.net/prsw/default.htmLots of overly detailed, over-written, overblown summaries of Power Ranger episodes, with cast & crew lists so accurate they make IMDB weep. It's ironic, I hate novelizations of movies and shows, and yet I ended up writing what amounted to such.
Carlisle Wheeling and the Effervescent Popsicle.
There's a few things I feel I need to do, as my duty as an Editor, for the shows I currently edit:
-For "Power Rangers", I need to dig in and weed out all summaries borrowed from RangerBoard or copied from press releases. This is mainly focused on Ninja Storm and SPD. I also need to go in and manually add all of the recurring characters for each and every episode (you see why I have such a large CP total on PR? It's from doing that and I'm not even HALF done!) I'd like to add the Sentai episode footage equivalent to each of the Notes (something I used to have for a few PRTF eps but gave up on when I first retired), but since the Sentai guide here at TV.com is a giant piece of trash, I can't link each note to it.
-For "Beetleborgs", I need to sink my teeth into the series, giving it proper synopsis', cast listings, and oddly important to me, cultural allusions. With Flabber's nonstop pop culture referencing, that's a task in itself.
-"X-Men" needs me to do to the final season what I did to the first four, namely in-depth summaries, synopsis', notes, and such. I'd be finished by now if I hadn't taken a break during the TVTome changeover! Once you get in the habit of doing something, it can be tough to get back on that mutant-covered wagon.
-"Petticoat Junction" needs a good bit of work to it (and thankfully I have all but less than a dozen episodes), I do wish I was editor for its sister Henning series', but I suppose I got enough on my plate as it is.
-"Masked Rider" I'll try to flesh out a little, but I worry how much Ferbus one man can take. I could do Kamen Rider footage equivalent notes, too. But my tapes are currently loaned out, so this'll wait.
-"VR Troopers" could do with some cleaning up in terms of synopsis, etc. I also planned on pinpointing what Metal Hero episode footage was used in each episode for Grnrngr.com anyway, so it'll be two birds with one stone. Tapes are loaned out, should be back in during the next few months, I hope.
-Being Trusted Contributor for "Digimon" doesn't give me the ability to do the one thing I'd like to do, namely clean-up on the cast list (Japanese voice actors don't belong in the dub guide), so there's not much I can do there.
