Adios, You Losers...

Hola, again. If you can gain anything from the title, I hope you gain that I am leaving this site. I know people have said this and that about not leaving, but after some incredibly sickening things arose within the past day, I must say that I am leaving this site for good. I'm not saying why, or calling anybody out, but I will say that I am shocked by those who I thought were good friends of mine that happened to be a part of this website, one that I can't believe I joined. Either way, you people sicken me. If you have been a good person on this website, not done anything evil or whatnot and know you haven't, I'm obviously not talking to you. You that know that you haven't done anything wrong are great gems of people. Those of you that are questioning whether you've done anything to hurt other users, whether purposely or not, I hate your guts. Every part of your body, every thought in your small, thick-skinned head, I despise. I put a lot of trust in people, but I know I should have trusted my mom when she told me to not put much faith in those I meet with online. Well, she was right and I've been stabbed in the back. Like so many times before, I realize that as good as I thought I had it, most of it was just a lie. I'm left alone, all alone again. And guess what? I'm not going to blame myself for once, but those who I thought I could trust but took advantage of it. Those that have left this site did so with a good amount of reason. I will be glad to leave here. If you want to keep in contact, I'll give you my e-mail. If not, stay the hell away. Adios, I really wish for once I could be accepted somewhere, and you've proven me that I won't... Ever... Thanks a lot.

Hello Darkness, My Old Friend...

Warning! Potential Danger!

Well, before I get blabbering like an idiot, I'm just gonna say one thing. I'm PISSED!!! Now, this is the freaking second time this has happened to me. This is f*cking ridiculous. I swear to god, someone's gonna be sorry once I go on this killing spree (don't worry, i'm not really going on a killing spree, that's just a hyperbole). So, what's made me so pissed? Well, it's the god damn weatherman on Fox. That's right, Fox, my least favorite of all the main channels. So, last week, no, actually the week before that, I was watching House, one of the shows I've watched since the near beginnning. I get about ten minutes into the damn show, and the weatherman interrupts the show, telling us that the storm may be dangerous. The key word for me was may. Seriously, it's great to know that something may become dangerous. Now, I understand that warning us of a potentially dangerous storm is what you have to do. I get that. Unfortunately, what I don't understand is how this stupid ass weatherman kept saying the same damn thing, zooming in and out, showing us the storm we had been seeing for about the last 20 minutes, and then telling us how in about 30 minutes, he'd be telling us about this on the god damn scheduled NEWS!!!! And, that was just then. I guess I was okay with it, you know, I could always watch the episode online or something. It did get me a little pissed though. HOWEVER, when it came to tonight's House, it seemed that the weatherman must have saw some potential danger yet again, cause he interrupted me while I was watchign House f*cking again!!!! Maybe this guy has something against the show, I don't know. He's just an ass in my book. Seriously, I don't have anything against weathermen and what they gotta do, but this guy is just a plain jackass idiot. Sure, this sounds like ranting, but I think it is justified. And this is the worst part. Right when I'm getting down to the closing ten or so minutes of the show, that damn warning thing starts! Even though the news starts in ten minutes, he feels that it is important enough to protect people from potential danger. Yes, I know that's important, but I think you could wait ten god damn minutes. Seriously, ten minutes is a short period of time. I don't think the storm is gonna go crazy evil and then just suddenly kill half the damn population.

This is my message to this guy if I could send him one: F*ck you! Why don't you screw up stupid ol' American Idol you jackass?!?! Is it because you care about stupid singers more than a good and creative story you peace of sh*t?!?!?! (Yes, I know that's ridiculously evil to say, but I kind of like saying stuff like that, helps me get the stuff off my chest.) So, I missed the ending of House, which was getting emotional. Of all the episodes to ruin, you picked an awesome and emotional one. You jerk.

Anyways, on a totally different topic, I am giving out a little info on the next Skating Weekly Update. All I'm giving you is the title. So far, I've named it: The Truth About Lying. Yes, you may know the title if you're a LOST fan. In fact, that's what was going to be the name of the episode that is now called Greatest Hits and is rumored to be Charlie's last episode (oh god, that'll be a sad one). Why did I name it that one? Well, I think that it suits what has been going on so far. With a lot of analyzing going on with me, I think that this is the perfect title. Plus, the title just kicks ass anyways. I seriously don't know why the creators of LOST changed it. It's god damn brillliant. Well, Adios for now. I'm done with my ranting for now. And all I can say is that I'm still pissed. That guy's an ass.

Not hit by a car, but blown up in one! Also, other stuff...

Wow, today has been... interesting. Heck, I thought that my life was boring, today, in some way, proved to me that although my life isn't quite as fun or eventful as it was, it's still got some kick to it. So, let me get started with a unique day, I present...

THE DAY WITH A VENGEANCE!

Okay, first of all, one of my two friends, Chris, has been wanting me to hang out on this day, Friday, for quite some time. Anyways, I get a call from him on Thursday tell me that he wants me to go see 300 in the IMAX with him and a a couple friends for his birthday, Friday. As the person with nothing better to do, I said yes, and also since I wanted to see 300 on the IMAX (even though I saw it already).

Now, that's just to setup the day, and what a day it was. So, today started off like anyother day. I got up, turned on my shiny Mac, and had breakfast. As I was eating my donut, my dad asks me to go get the mail at around ten or so. Since I love to take a shower everyday, though, I told him I'd get it after I took my shower. As I was setting up the whole shower thing, I thought that the temperature of the water was good, so I got in. When I got in, I guess I bumped a knob or something, and suddenly, the water was boiling hot. So hot, that I fricking jumped out of the shower. And there you go, my day started off with getting burned by the shower. Back to getting the mail now.

As the good kid I am, I go get the mail. While I'm getting the mail, I stand at the mail box, in my robe and boxers and such, checking out to see if I got anything. I didn't, so I shut the mailbox and when doing so, I drop a couple of letters and the wind blows them into the middle of the street. I was dumb enough to just go after them and lo and behold, some idiot is speeding down my street. As I'm reaching for my mail, I notice him  as he honks at me (wow, how nice) and waves at me to get out of his way. On a side note, I gotta say that was a jackass thing for him to do. Now, of course I kind of jumped out of the way, or something. And there I am, nearly run over by some 4x4 truck, with the mail all crumpled up and ruined from that idiot running it all over. Oh, and yeah, I did scratch up my knee and arm while dodging this... idiot. So, I kind of felt like Charlie from Lost, as I find that with more time on my hands, I have been able to connect stuff. I mean, did me typing that stuff about me getting hit by a car have an effet on what happened this morning? I don't know, but as someone who thinks that fate is quite possible, it's almost too coincidental to be called a coincidence.

Anyways, that's not all that happened with me today, there's more. Well, after watching 300 on IMAX and feeling a little weird while watching on the sex scenes and such while sitting next to my friend's dad who might not have wanted his son to see the movie, we drove back to his house. On the way, the car got that little signal that says you need to change your oil. Since we weren't pressed for time at all, we went to the gas station to change the oil. Now, this is the highlight of the day for me in a sick and twisted way, so be forewarned! His dad buys some oil, pops the hood, and attempts to poor it in. Unfortunately, he didn't turn off the engine or anything, the car was still in park with the engine still going. As he attempts to poor the oil, he misses the little hole completely as he gets it all over the engine and lamp and stuff that's hot. The oil started to smoke, and as I sat in the car, I was a little worried. Then, as if fate thought I needed a more explosive ending to my life, the oil caught on fire. My friend's dad ran over to the side door and pulled me, my friend, and his friends out of the car telling us that we needed to get the hell outta the car. I looked back as I saw some flames coming from the hood, and man, can I tell you, that instead of feeling danger and fear, I grinned. Weird, I know, but I was kind of getting this feeling as though I was happy if this were my end. I mean, wouldn't it be cool if you died in an exploding car? IDK, maybe it's just me, but I thought that'd be a hell of a way to go. So, we rush into the gas station and the indian guy in there starts yelling at us as though we were gonna rob him or something. Chris's dad grabs the fire extinguisher behind the counter and runs back out to the car, putting out the flames and everything. And as I watched him put out the flames, I noticed something. Chris's dad looks a hell of a lot like Locke! Damn, he looks like his brother or something. However, his dad doesn't have the same voice or personality, so I guess that's why I never saw him as Locke-like.

Well, that was kind of a weird day.. but it ain't over yet. Nope, fate still had a vendetta against me. After that whole situation, we went to Chris's house and there, we decided to go out to Outback for his birthday dinner. When we got there, we decided to sit in the porch area that was indoors, like a greenhouse. We got there, sat ourselves down, and something smelt very strange. I realized it smelled a hell of a lot like GASOLINE! And there, as if fate had his murderer known to me, was some stupid waiter trying to light some outdoor lamp. He was fidgeting with it and such, and the gasoline smell got stronger and stronger. Finally, Chris's friend, who I think was Derek, asked our waiter what the chances were that we were gonna get blown up (yeah, he was a little... weird) and the waiter realized too that the area smelled strongly of gasoline. Immediately, he had the guy stop with the outdoor lamp thingy and turned off the gas. But, that wasn't the last from that Outback guy, the guy unknowingly trying to kill me via fate. Lucky for us, he tried to turn on another lamp of the same make and such. And what do you know? It had the same damn problem. Only this time, no one stopped him from trying to turn it on. As I watched him fidget with it, I heard a click. Then, I watched as a huge flame of smoke engulfed the whole top part of the lamp like a small explosion. I got off lucky, since we weren't near the lamp. But my murderer, well, his little Outback shirt got burned all over his back, black and all. The guy kind of flipped out and such, and then we got an apology from the manager, and I'm guessing that the little wanna be assassin from fate was fired.

So, that wraps it up for me.  A weird day, as if someone wants me dead or something. I don't know what it is, but i, somehow, somehting would happen to me, I wouldn't be the least surprised. Since, after a day like this, I realized that anything is possible.

NOW... onto the 'other stuff'

Alright, with easter and all, and since I didn't make any New Year's resolutions of the such, I think that I'm gonna change my blogs. Instead of talking about games, tv, or movies as much, I'm gonna talk a little more of what's going on with me, since you guys really don't have a clue about the mysterious and wondruous life of me, SkateGame.  I mean, with lots of stuff going on with me, what better than to get some stuff off my chest than to use my blog, which is really an online journal that people can comment on.

A blog, as I've thought, isn't as pointless as a normal journal, in which you keeped locked up and away from the world. Why keep the crap locked up? Seriously, what good does that do? I never really understood that, so with this blog, instead of talking about me and my feelings and whatever the hell a journal contains and keeping it to myself, I'm gonna do all that journal crap in this blog, and then let you comment on it! Now, just as a note, this idea kind of bloomed through the process of my last blog post from early yesterday, 4/4/07, and after reading some of the blog posts from noahcrash. So, with my thanks to him, and to my own creative mind, I think that you guys will finally be able to figure out what runs me, this machine of a person, and what the hell happens to a machine of a person.

COMING UP NEXT ON: SKATEGAME'S REVAMPED BLOG!

Well, what's coming up? I'm guessing that I won't blog here until next weekend. So, here's what you can expect:

  • A re-cap of my week
  • My thoughts on Lost and other TV shows
  • Anything to do with my life and such
  • Any new purchases
  • Movie and Gaming stuff

Now, I hope you guys will like the new blog, cause I think I'll enjoy it more than just randomly blogging about stuff that I eventually realize that I don't care about. I hope that you will find my life, as boring as it may be, somewhat enjoyable, as I hope to kind of turn this blog into a show of its own, where the main character is myself, as I journey through uncharted places of who knows what. Plus, maybe if you're lucky, I'll tell you a little bit about my... well, I'll just say: my past. Adios for now, please comment on what you think and stuff. Oh...

AND THANKS TO THOSE THAT READ MY LAST BLOG AND THOSE THAT COMMENTED! IT REALLY MEANS A LOT!

Getting Excited About the '07 Movie Line-Up!!!

Okay, so, as you may have guessed, I'm getting excited over some upcoming movies that are getting released this year. I mean, last year was filled to the brim with bad movies. However, once fall and winter came around, audiences were treated to a dozen or so great movies that was more than redeemable for the rest of the things that we saw in the summer. Let's see, Pirates 2, for example, was probably one of the biggest disappointments I've seen when I was so excited for it. Now, this year we're seeing Pirates 3. And you know what? I may actually see it even though the second one pretty much ruined the first one for me. Why? Because it seems that instead of these conflicts that we see throughout the movie that really have no effect on the overall story and act like obstacles for the characters even though they don't really change them in any way possible, this time it looks like there may actually be some character development and I think that this could make me overlook the second one.

What else is coming out this year? Oh yeah, GRINDHOUSE!!!! Man, I can't tell you how much I wanna see this movie. Sure, it looks like a crappy Tarantino and Rodriguez schlock film, and that's mainly exactly what it is. As Rolling Stone (the magazine) said, it's not exactly a great movie, just great trash. And I have to say that I would like to have fun with a movie again.  A zombie flick is always something that I look forward to. Shaun of the Dead was a great zombie movie and was the last one I can remember. With some early reviews, it seems as though Planet Terror, Rodriguez's film in Grindhouse, will be entertaining, gory, and pure fun. Oh, and it stars Naveen Andrews as well, so you gotta know that it'll be good! Also in Grindhouse is Death Proof, the movie about a slasher-type stunt man played by Kurt Russel. I've heard that it's his coolest role since he played Snake Plissken, and I think that will be an interesting one as well. Oh, and don't forget the cool fake trailers shown throughout the movies, the one for Thanksgiving looks good and you can find it on IGN or rottentomatoes.

Now about the rest of the batch and trailers... This time around, the trailers look decent, and for me, when I see a trailer that doesn't make me go head over heels for a movie, it usually surprises me. Take Transformers for example. I'll just go see that because I think that it will be better than it looks, plus one of the LOST creators/producers is helping to make it, so it's a must. Also, you can look at Shrek 3. That premise looks rather stupid and may just be extending the plot for more cash. However, with Shrek, you never know with the first being a classic while the second one was only okay.

Oh, and don't forget Spider-Man 3. That movie looks like it'll take the best parts from both movies (the first had great action, the second one had a great story) and mash it together to make a great film, plus the seven minute preview on Yahoo Movies gets me even more hyped for it.

What else is there? Oh, well, there is a Richard Gere movie coming out fairly soon called The Hoax. So far, it's been getting some great reviews and the story seems to look pretty good. So, if that movie's near your area, I reccomend that you see it.

And finally, a movie from The Simpsons. I think I've been waiting for this ever since it was rumored in '05 or something. The Simpsons show isn't nearly as funny as it was back then, but I think that if the creators, writers and producers make a collective effort to get some good stuff into this movie, it'll go down as a classic for Simpsons fans and those who just love comedy.

Now, I definitely need to go seee Ocean's Thirteen since those are always fun movies to see. Sure, the second wasn't quite as good as the awesome first (which was a remake), but it was still extremely entertaining with a twisty plot and lots of fun to be had. Anyway, I don't think that you can really go wrong with seeing that.Hmm, that's all I can think of for now... I mean, if I haven't listed it here, odds are I'm very iffy on whether I'll see it or not. So, to re-cap...

- Gotta see Grindhouse
- I'll probably go see Transformers
- I'll try and find a theater for The Hoax
- Doh! I'm gonna go see the Simpsons since... it's the Simpsons for christ sake!
- I'll go see Pirates 3 although I don't have high hopes other than I believe that it'll probably be better than that crappy second one...
- And I'll definitely go see Spider-Man 3
- Oh, and I'll go see Shrek 3 based on the reviews...
- And don't forget to pay off your dues to Ocean's Thirteen!

That's it for now. I know that there's more movies that I didn't listed, I only put what I could think of. If you do know any movies I may have forgotten to add that actually have some potential of being a good movie, be free to just tell me through the comments. Adios for now, here's to trying to see Grindhouse this weekend!

Season 3 was a love or hate season. Personally, I find that it was stronger than Season 2, if only by a hair, and weaker than the pilot season, which was completely amazing and introduced the show beautifully. With this finale, not only are lots of issues from this season wrapped up, but the show takes a new turn. And for me, it's definitely a positive thing.

Things begin with Jack getting ready to leave for the radio tower, leaving Sayid, Jin, and Bernard back at the camp to take care of the Others. Lucky for them, they only will have to deal with ten of the Others' finest, and not the whole group. As Jack advances towards the radio tower, we find that the love triangle that we though may have ended with Juliet has now returned and has become a love quadrangle as Jack kisses Juliet, yet tells Kate that he loves her. This is really interesting as it makes us wonder what the heck Jack thinks of Juliet truly. Is he just using her? Who knows... Sawyer, on the other hand, is trying to distance himself from Kate, who is again acting the usual. However, his motive isn't that he is fed up with Kate, but that he wants to save Sayid, Jin, and Bernard, as it seems that only two of the explosions went off, and not all three. He tells Kate that he's going back but doesn't want her to come. Juliet goes along with Sawyer and Hurley tries to as well. However, once Juliet and Sawyer see Hurley, they tell him that he'll just get in the way and isn't in the best shape to help them out. That really got to me, as Hurley is a character that has always tried to help and fit in. He leaves reluctantly, and Sawyer and Juliet press on. It's really cool to see that a relationship between those two could be quite possible, but that's thinking too far ahead for now.

On the beach, Jin and Sayid are able to shoot their sets of dynamite and kill seven of the ten Others. Bernard gets the chills and doesn't shoot off his dynamite in time, as the Others ambush our shooters from behind. Tom and Pryce with one other unknown Other hold the three hostage, threatening their lives as they question them on where Jack has led the group. Sayid stands up to them, as he knows well enough that he must let them all get off the island. Jin, well, he can't speak english. Bernard, however, remembering Rose telling him to not be Rambo, gives away Jack's plan to get to the radio tower. Pryce then radios Ben, whom with Alex, goes to head off Jack's group at their destination. When Alex asks why he's bringing her along, Ben tells her that he's delivering her to her new family, in reference to the losties. The motive of this is obviously that he was trying to protect her from having Karl impregnate her. This reveal gives me the idea that Ben isn't as bad as he seems. Sure, he killed all the Dharma people, but maybe they really were the bad guys. Ben later tells Pryce to keep the hostages as leverage. It seems that Ben still has more up his sleeve and will always be one or two steps ahead of the losties no matter what they try to do.

And then, we cut to the story that I was most excited to see. We see Locke, ready to kill himself in the Dharma grave with a revolver. It seems as though Locke is willing to end his own suffering as he is accepting that he has failed. Right before he pulls the trigger, we are shocked by the sight of Walt, whom tells John that he can walk and has work to do. What the heck is up with Walt? How the heck did he so suddenly get back? Why? This is one of the questions we'll have to ponder for the eight months that LOST will be gone from us.

Down in the Looking Glass, Charlie is surviving the good cop, bad cop routine by Greta and Bonnie who question him over how he got there. Knowing that this isn't the way he'll go, Charlie toys around with them, giving them lies such as he came from an "invisible submarine". Greta and Bonnie are then revealed to be Others, as they ask Ben for advice on how to handle the situation. Eventually, they get out the information of who Charlie is, and Ben is bedazzled by the idea that the losties know of that hatch. Ben then has Mikhail sent to the Looking Glass to take care of the situation as he has little faith in the two women. Mikhail then realizes that Ben lied about the Looking Glass being flooded and it seems that his faith in Ben has been a bit shattered. However, Ben notices this in Mikhail, and is able to keep him under his rule for just a little longer.

We finally see Desmond in his boat, waking up to find no Charlie. Just as he awakens, he sees Mikhail taking shots at him with his rifle over in the distance. Diving into the water and reaching the Looking Glass, Desmond is able to hide in one of the lockers inside the station without the women noticing. With the women both angered that Charlie isn't telling them anything, they threaten to teach him otherwise with a spear gun. Just before they get this gun from the locker holding Desmond, Mikhail comes out of the water, telling them that he has been sent by Ben. He goes into a room and talks with Ben via a communications room. There, he is told by Ben to get rid of Charlie, Bonnie, and Greta. He exits and gets Bonnie and Greta, but Desmond shoots him with the harpoon gun before he can finish off one of the women. This was a very iconic scene with Desmond taking the initiative with the harpoon gun in a classic showdown pose. I loved that. Charlie then gets the code out of this woman left living that he needs to turn the switch and the yellow light. And what do you know, it's a tune to Good Vibrations, which also gave headway to the song, A Day in My Life, by the Beatles. After pushing the code, he presses a button after flipping the switch. This leads to him talking with Penelope. During the talk, he is told that the boat of Naomi is not hers. She doesn't have a boat. This blew me away since I knew that Naomi was a liar. Everyone didn't believe me, but I told them that Naomi lied. Still, I must know, how come the Looking Glass went to a screen with Penelope? Is she linked the group of Naomi or the Others? Why would they be tuned to her? Ugh, I guess we'll learn that later.

After Charlie learns this, Mikhail, the man that never dies, appears outside with a grenade and blows open the window in the room that Charlie is in. Charlie heroically locks himself in the room to save Desmond then rights his final wishes, "Not Penny's Boat." This was done in an extremely touching way and makes me believe that this was the best character send off ever. Amazingly sad, yet beautifully done.

Back with Jack and his group, they finally reach the radio tower. Meeting up with Rousseau, they enter the radio tower to end her signal. Unfortunately, Ben is also there. He warns Jack that calling these people of Naomi will kill everyone. This makes me believe that the people on the ship are people from the Dharma Initiative, and really no other group would make much sense. Again, I have to say, I was right and yet no one wanted to believe me! Ben then threatens Jack and is pushed to have Sayid, Jin, and Bernard executed by Pryce and Tom. Jack lashes out by beating Ben to the bone, and then tying him to a tree for safe keeping. This scene really shows the person that Jack is truly and also hints at who he will be in the upcoming seasons. Naomi, testing her phone for any sort of signal finally is able to call someone. With the radio out, she takes the phone and begins to call her ship. Just as she is about to speak with her crew, we find that Locke has thrown a knife in her back. With Naomi pretty much dead, Jack takes up the phone and begins to talk with a ship person. Locke threatens Jack, telling him that he'll shoot him. Jack pushes Locke as he continues to speak, and Locke then walks away with Ben again disappointed in him. I find it a bit strange that Locke kills Naomi yet doesn't kill Jack. Is it because he sees Jack as an accomplice or even a friend? I guess that we'll know next season or at least have a better idea of what was going on with our pal Locke. With that said, the man on the ship pin points Jack's location and tells them that they're on their way to rescue them. ON the beach, we find that Pryce on Tom have not actually killed their hostages, but shot in the sand. Tom doesn't agree that Pryce defied Ben's orders, and this shows that a divide in the Others is beginning and will become big for them. Sawyer and Juliet finally arrive at the scene, trying to devise a plan to rescue their fellow friends. Just as they think they have a plan down, Hurley arrives in his VW bus and runs over Pryce, killing him. This gives Sawyer the chance to steal the gun from Pryce and kill the random Other that was with him. Then, Tom gives up, seeing he's definitely outnumbered. However, Sawyer doesn't agree and kills Tom, saying "that was for the kid you kidnapped." This kind of showed how the death of the real Sawyer has affected our fellow con and that Tom may have actually been a good guy after all that didn't really want to fight with the losties. I'm still made that Tom is gone, though.

Now, onto the flashback. Well, let me say, flashforward. yes, that's right. LOST's big gamechanger was showing us a flashforward of Jack in his nice ol' Spartan-like beard. We see him, just as his father, drinking and popping pills. His regrets lead him to nearly committing suicide. Just then, an ad in the paper of a death of someone he knew brings him to calling a special friend. He goes to see this person's coffin, but we never get to look inside for ourselves. Yes, this'll be a mystery I don't plan on being answered for a ways out. Then, Jack is able to contact the person he has been calling and meets up with them. There, he meets Kate and tells her how he has been flying on flights between LA and Pacific cities around Asia hoping that the plane will crash. He admits that they made a mistake and that they must go back. I'm guessing that he's talking about the island and then getting off. I think that after this, Jack and friends will finally realize that their isn't much more to go back to and that life on the island was better. Still, there's a lot of questions that this finale brought, and I want to discuss them now! Great writing!

So, with that long re-cap with analysis, I have to say that this is the best finale I've seen. The number of key events is amazing and the storylines of each were well written. The only problem I had was that the second half seemed to pass a littl too much faster than the first, making the big reveals and shockers hard to cope with once the iconic LOST logo came up at the end of the episode. Still, this is in my top 3 episodes for the show. Incredible.

Incredible.

I think the true problem to this episode is that everything felt a bit forced. The stabbing of Sylar occurred completely randomly, most of it all was pretty predictable, as earlier episodes gave us enough information to have somewhat of an idea of what would occur, and most of all, the ending, although somewhat shocking, just felt tacked on and completely irrelevent. However, there were some very interesting parts to the episode as well, but that didn't save the majority of the episode from being any better.

So, in this episode, we finally have all that was built up finally get set off. Peter finally gets the idea that maybe he won't be the one to explode. Thus, he tries to confront Sylar. Unfortunately, for reasons unexplained, he collapses and is in an unexplainable part of his past, talking with Simone's dead father. Funny enough, his mom and Simone's dad already knew of the explosion. The weird thing is, it seems they weren't going to do anything. The mom acts as though it's inevitable. For Christ's sake, this is her son? I don't know many mothers that are that willing to give up on their sons like that! There was no true reason shown for her acting like this. Then, Simone's dad is able to communicate with Peter as he revisits the past in his dream. Although he doesn't explain how this is possible, this is probably his power which he is either using in the past, or could it be he isn't dead? This was definitely a great question that the episode gave us to ponder, but it was the only one I found that I actually cared about.

Claire also tries to get closer to Peter and his family, but when she learns that Peter is bringing her to Nathan for help, she flees in a very predictable way. I could see it a mile away. Of course, as they talk to her RIGHT BY A WINDOW, convincing her to stay with them, she jumps out. This was probably most predictable due to the promo, which showed her at the site of the explosion. Matt and Mr. Bennett try to kill the little girl Molly, but Matt prevents that from happening as he realizes that he saved her from before. Once they decide to not kill the girl, it seems Suresh is fine with the fact that they were just about to kill this girl and goes along with them pretty well, although he show a tiny bit of hesitation. This totally seems out of character as he even doubted his own father! How the heck does he suddenly trust these two guys! Ugh, bad writing!

And then, the finale with Sylar and the whole cast. To me, it felt very cliche with everyone coming together in this empty New York Square. I'm sorry, but where is everyone else in New York? Did they all suddenly decide to stay away from gathering places or what? Matt gets hit with four bullets by Sylar, yet there's something telling me that his character is too significant to die. And if he doesn't die, how are they going to explain that one? Same with Sylar, he was stabbed through the stomach by Hiro and is suddenly able to get away after losing a good pint of blood or so. And don't get me started on the explosion. First of all, couldn't Peter have flown himself away instead of having Nathan sacrifice himself? And if he wasn't able to fly, couldn't Nathan have easily dropped him once he got far enough away? I feel as though they rushed it just to kill off a character just since they knew it was the finale. Overall, I feel thoroughly disappointed by the finale. The ending with the samurai was interesting, but I don't see how anything from the season ties into that. I feel as though the whole mythology of this show is very disconnected and not woven together like a show such as LOST, where everything has some connection. I will still watch the show next season, but this episode got me close to not.

Wow is all I can say after that episode. The whole episode reminded me of the season 1 episodes, mixed together with much more mythology that we got in the episodes from season 2. Charlie is easily my favorite character behind Locke after this episode. His whole character is just fantastic and this episode definitely showed how to make a viewer care for a character.

So, the title, Greatest Hits, is one of those titles that actually makes its way into the story of the episode well. Throughout the episode, we learn of Charlie's own moments in which he calls his life's greatest hits. The flashbacks were done in a very unique and awesome way in which we saw all these different points from Charlie's life that are his greatest hits. This is probably one of the few episodes this season that made the flashbacks something completely special (although there have been a handful still).

The episode also does a great job of developing the story of the upcoming brawl between the Others and our own losties. Indeed, it is interesting to see that the dynamite from the Brig is brought back into play as Jack reveals that he will use the dynamite to blow up the Others once they storm the camp. Unfortunately, his plan is ruined once Karl comes and warns the camp that the Others will be arriving not tomorrow as expected, but this night. And yes, this leads to a whole revamp of the plan that involves three of our losties staying back to shoot the dynamite from the treeline as the Others try and steal the pregnant women. This creates much tension throughout the situation as Jack returns as a leader and Sayid becomes the strong soldier that we knew he still had inside him. It's also nice to see Rose and Bernard play a role in the episode. That's another thing about this episode, it made sure that characters each had their good amount of camera time so that the episode wasn't too focused on one aspect. It works incredibly well to create this sort of rush that we find as the losties get ready for the Others.

On the other side of the conflict, we find that Juliet knows of a new station, the Looking Glass (hint hint), that is underwater and is blocking all transmissions that are outgoing from the Island. This becomes the heart of the story, as Desmond tells Charlie that he is supposed to flip a switch in this station. Unfortunately, he will die trying to do so, yet this will lead to the rescue of Claire and the baby, Aaron. This complication gives the episode some emotional value, as we see Charlie try and make amends with people such as Claire and Hurley before he goes on his own suicide mission to get everyone else rescued. It is also hard to watch Desmond as he struggles to send Charlie off to his death, as he even tries to be the one to take Charlie's place.

However, the whole dedication of Charlie comes to a stop as Charlie reaches the station to only be taken hostage by two women. This means, however, that Desmond was wrong about Charlie. He didn't die! So, yes, it does make the emotional part of the episode a little less significant when you reach the ending, but it creates this sort of mountain that is the finale. And that's great, considering that it may be not only the best of this season, but of the whole show. I can't wait!

Ben has always been that character that you wish you knew more about. Luckily, when this episode came around, our wishes were finally granted. With the childhood of Ben delved upon and the problems he had as well as the mysteries of Jacob and the Purge revealed, you get a sense that LOST may be starting to become one mystery that you never saw coming.

I think this episode really relies on its beautiful balance of the flashback and the on-island story. Both have equal importance and both get equal camera-time and script. Lucky for us, both are just as impressive. With Ben finally showing us who he truly is, the manipulative and evil booger we thought he was, but worse, we still feel for his character after the guilt his father gives him and the way he is detached seem to ruin his psychological state.

Ben is a character I hope we see much, much more of. His flashback contained a lot of information, but it left a huge gap in what occurred when he first met Richard Alpert (who has seemed to not age somehow). His childhood friend, Abby, is also a character we meet through his flashback, along with Roger Linus, Ben's father. Both characters have contrasting feelings towards Ben as Roger shows his painful fatherhood responsibilities after blaming Ben for the death of his wife during child labor and as Abby shows care for him, remembering his birthday and showing it through her own gifts. Then, the reveal that the Dharma Initiative was brought down by Ben and the Hostiles during the purge is just something remarkable in a sense (especially with that whole Ben theme music).

Also, the idea of Jacob in the episode becomes more relevant and more mysterious when we learn that Jacob is some sort of soul or invisible man. Unfortunately, when Locke can't hear or see Jacob, he gets frustrated at Ben, leading him to his own shocking shooting before the corpses of the Dharma Initiative. Of course, we all hope (and have a feeling) that Locke will make it out of this, but from the looks of things, who knows? This sort of Two for the Road ending just gives the episode its own merits as an episode that has a little bit of everything. There's mystery, emotions, character development, reveals, and of course, questions. Sometimes, we may be a bit fearful for the questions, but for me, I find them all the better. Yes, The Man Behind the Curtain is a LOST classic that we'll love and cherish for times to come. With the shocking ending and many revealing areas of Ben and Dharma given, you can't do anything but simply enjoy the episode. The only thing I have against it is the possibility that this just may be the end for the greatest character of all time, John Locke.
