    my story:
I'm a social worker who has a love (okay, obsession) of TV. I watch with my laptop at the ready so I can look up facts about shows, characters, and actors. There's something fun about it. I know that it may sound strange, but it's absolutely true. I love TV.
    my favorites:
    show: The 4400
    person: Kate Walsh

    • Tingly TV Moment

I have become a huge fan of Cold Case. Part of it is the actual show, the other part is Tracie Thoms, who I enjoy. Episode 1.6 is on -- Love Conquers Al -- and I realized it was Scotty's first. So I went back to the ep guide in order to see what happened. Come to find out, Justin Chambers was the person who Scotty replaced. The show explains Chambers' disappearance saying that he needed day work because of his diabetes. What really happened was none other than Grey's Anatomy. Chambers character was not even written into the series until a test market showed that there was a desire for another male intern. Chambers came onto the series in the second episode as a new intern under Bailey's supervision. A wise move for Chambers, as Grey's is notably more popular than... Read more »

    • Pilots

Before heading out to one of the best Rochester, NY summer festivals, I must comment on all of the possible pilots for the fall season. And to them I have only a few short words: What. The. Hell. While I am very happy to see a marked decline in reality shows (an effect of the writers' strike, perhaps?), I am disappointed to see a knock off of To Tell the Truth, as well as two shows that focus on Multiple Personality Disorder. I have my own opinions on To Tell the Truth and feel as though it is the most horrible show ever created, so I am very disappointed to see another show just like it. The other two shows are a mockery of the disorder -- which is very rare and very serious -- by putting it into the comedic and dramatic light. I worry about that as a professional in the mental... • Baby Borrowers Continues... and other TV goodness

First of all, I finally have a profile that looks more like me. But I digress... already. The article on the Baby Borrowers was touting the apparent psychological harm being done on the kids from spending a few days in the teens' care. I posted to the show page about it, but in a nutshell that's a big bunch of silliiness in my opinion. The article was saying that the kids were losing attatchment time with their parents by being away from them. I wonder if the people saying this are also opposed to babysitting. Just a thought. As someone who works in the mental health field, I can honestly say that 2 days in the care of someone else will do no harm. Especially when these kids are being followed by a professional nanny and watched by their own parents. Hello. The idea makes me a... Read more »
