    The Bottom Line: "Superb"

Of course I've seen episodes here and there on one of the 1,000 channels repeats air on, but I never really got into the show so I thought I'd give it a try, especially since Mariska seems like a great actress. So, I was quite impressed. I really don't like the weird guy with the glasses, or Ice-T, but the rest of the characters seem pretty cool. The main partnership between the leads seems quite interesting, with a lot of history.

The story of the week was good, and had a lot of twists to keep it from getting boring halfway through the episode. The crazy little boy ended up not being nearly as annoying as I first thought I was, and his semi-reunion with his mom was a nice touch. I think what makes the show great to me is how Mariska's character really cares for the victims. It shows a lot of character, which makes the show more than just a boring procedural. I'll definitely be back next week.

    The Bottom Line: "Good"

Sometimes Family Guy forgets what a plot is, so it's nice to see one in this episode to hold everything together. On top of that, there were quite a few good jokes too, so I'd say the episode was a pretty good premiere, but not great. I like how we saw some Cleveland developments, and now that Loretta is gone for good and the new girl didn't work out, he'll be more willing to move away to his new The Cleveland Show. I think there should have been more Peter and Lois in the episode, but I didn't miss Chris or Meg. Peter was amusing dressed as Mrs. Bush, and I'd say my favorite line was when Lois commended Cleveland going straight from a black woman to a white woman, skipping the hispanic step. Haha. As long as the show watches how much it re-uses jokes, and doesn't get too stale, it'll keep me watching.

    The Bottom Line: "Mediocre"

For all the waiting and all the excitement that was built around this premiere, the results were much lower than what I expected. The clip show was not even really a clip show and was pretty much a waste of time. The episodes themselves (both of which I'm reviewing here) introduced a lot of questions, which could potentially be good ... but half the stuff is just so dumb I don't even care enough to find out the answers. At this point, I wish I could just pick and choose between storylines so I'd only have to watch what happens to the characters I like.

We'll start with the worst - Parkman. Too bad the actor is all buddy-buddy with the creator or whatever, because the character needs to die. His storylines have always been crap, but somehow this season has outdone the past storylines and is even crappier. I think I'll start treating his scenes as commercials so I can walk away and get something to eat. I mean come on, a spiritual journey? That's worse than watching commercials. Stupid.

On to Hiro/Ando. Hiro used to have good storylines, but his blast to the past last year lasted way too long, and now he acted all dumb and lost some important formula and on top of that is all freaking out about Ando because he kills him in the future. Except it could be a shapeshifter. Or he could have just stunned and not killed Hiro. Or Hiro could actually be the bad guy and not Ando. But Hiro is retarded and doesn't think things like that through. He instead just acts dumb and makes his storyline boring.

Niki, or whatever she's called now, can randmoly freeze people. Great. Unless there's some really cool twist to what's going on with her I'm more than ready for her character to be gone too. But then again no one dies for good on Heroes so I don't think she'll ever go away. Claire on the other hand is someone I'd hate to see go away. The Sylar scene with her was great. Pretty intense stuff. The only dumb thing is that she randomly doesn't feel pain anymore and is being all annoying about it. Nathan/Linderman - what? Again, no one on Heroes ever dies for good apparently, which is a really bad move because it makes it pretty much impossible to feel sad when a character dies because they'll just be back again in the next episode. Lame. So yeah, Linderman is not really dead, but sort of? And he saved Nathan. Great, another dumb storyline I wish I could skip.

Suresh and Maya. Maya is getting less annoying, and actually making sense, while Suresh has passed the point of being just retarded and is now just a waste of space (or airtime in this case I guess). I'd rather watch C-Span than this crap storyline. At least one storyline didn't disappont - HRG/Angela. They always seem to have great storylines and are always in good scenes. Angela is by far my favorite character on the show, and I love how she's so bad-***. They did a bad job revealing her power though, they should have made a bigger deal of it. It's cool though that she's still so vulnerable, but never gets scared. I love when she told Elle to go get a new life. Awesome. And she's Sylar's mom?! What?! Oh and HRG - also awesome as always. But he's gonna be paired with Sylar? Hmm...that's the only thing keeping me interested in the show so I guess I'll be back next week to find out how that all goes down.

Auntie Stu, Christmas, and Other Ramblings

Oh yes yes yes...remember the baby shower I was talking about? Well my niece has finally made it into the world. She was born on October 8, 2008. We welcomed Haley Marie into the world at 12:52 pm weighing 8 lbs. 2 ozs. measuring 18 3/4 in. While my sister-in-law was pregnant I made my niece something special. I think she will like it when she is older. My little brother told me that all the doctor's and nurses raved over it.

Christmas is coming and I am trying to decide what to get the kids for Christmas. *sigh* So I have done some looking and thought about this V Smile Cyber Pocket for Piper. Considering this Nintendo DS for Blake. I am not sure about anything else at this point. Have you all started thinking about Christmas? If you have...what are you considering?

After 2 years and 5 months in this liquor store...I finally have a desk!! I know right, hard to believe!! So I am slowly moving things to my "office" (read: last inch of space that beer does not fill)!! It is nice to have the clutter down out here though, I can find my shelf!! I am realizing that I am going to have more shelves and baskets on the wall than most people have socks. I have to have a place for everything. I mean I can't mix my sales tax stuff with my payroll stuff. *sigh*

Oh let's see what else do I have...oh yes...my 7 year old. Kids are a riot I tell ya. I told him to clean his room the other day. Here is our conversation:

Me: Blake, I need you to go clean your room.
    Blake: I'm a boy.
Me: I know this already. Why does this make a difference?
Blake: Because boys don't need clean rooms.

I was so caught off guard, it was all I could do not to laugh out loud. Oh the joys of motherhood.

Well I think that is about it for today. Thanks for stopping!!

    Deuces!!

    Later Taters!!

    I'm comming home

I'm comin' home, I've done my time
Now I've got to know what is and isn't mine
If you received my letter telin' you I'd soon be free
Then you'll know just what to do if you still want me
    If you still want me

    CHORUS:

Tie a yellow ribbon 'round the old oak tree
    It's been three long years
    Do you still want me?
If I don't see a yellow ribbon round the old oak tree
    I'll stay on the bus
    Forget about us
    Put the blame on me
If I don't see a yellow ribbon round the old oak tree

Bus driver, please look for me
'Cause I couldn't bear to see what I might see
I'm really still in prison, and my love she holds the key
A simple yellow ribbon's what I need to set me free
I wrote and told her please:

    REPEAT CHORUS

Now the whole damn bus is cheering
    And I can't believe I see
A hundred yellow ribbons 'round the old oak tree
    I'm comin' home
