There is nothing wrong about this episode. All the required elements are in their respective positions. The dancers are on the dance floor, the pieces on the chess board. And this is one game of chess you wouldn't want to miss for the life of it.
From start to finish, this episode will keep you near the edge of your seat, occasionally falling off. The short glimpses of the future, or the present more like, intertwined with the past, and the start of the main character's career, make for a confusing mumble jumble that you will only unravel near the end of the episode, leaving you to marvel at it's intricateness and novelty even when the 53 minutes are long gone.
The amount of characters in this show seemed a bit confusing at first, I was unable to connect the dots and had no clue who was who and what their purpose was. Who's the bad guy and who are the good guys? I suppose a clearcut division is nothing short of boring, but I'm glad that as the episode went on I got a firm grip on the situation, and I refuse to let go.
Let's hope the episodes that follow are anything like this, and I'll definitely stick around!

Damages Avg Score: 9.04 Total Ratings: 1012 Total Reviews: 50 |
My first instinct was to turn away from this. I was going to watch Bionic Woman, but certain troubles got in the way of that venture, so I had to turn my attention towards this show.
When I hear legal drama I think of shows like Boston Legal. I don't know anyone who watches shows like Boston Legal, not a soul. Nobody I know likes it, and neither do I, it's got nothing captivating about it. Legal dramas are shows like that. Damages obviously isn't a legal drama, it's much more.
It's got a Prison Break like vibe to it, and then mainly the second season of Prison Break. The city atmosphere, people trying to get under each other's nails any way they can. Financially, legally, even by brute force. The bad guys will not go out of their way for anything to accomplish their goals, and neither will the good guys, or anyone for that matter. This show does not focus on the boring legal junk nobody cares about. How intricate and complicated it might be, a court case is boring. It's a bit like the NDS game Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, the legal drama is fastpaced, but everything surrounding it is captivating and pushes you to the edge of your seat.
This is a keeper, and I can see it going on and on for seasons.

Eureka Unpredictable Avg Score: 9.03 Total Ratings: 229 Total Reviews: 12 Users who disagree: 1 |
You know what they say. Or rather, if you've got nothing to say just talk about the weather. It's what people do when they feel uncomfortable, or simply don't know what to say.
Perhaps Eureka ran out of good ideas for episodes. I don't know, beats me. All I know is that this episode was nothing special. Boring, you might even say. Sure, the weather got mixed up, but hey, we all knew that was bound to happen someday. Eureka has a special climate regulation system, and it was only a matter of time before something went wrong, whether because of a bug in the operating system or because of some crazy scientist messing with things he obviously had no idea about. Knowing e equals mc sqauared does not mean you know the implications of your actions on everyday life. I am getting rather annoyed by the same plot over and over again..
Jack's exwife showing up unexpectedly was a welcome plot twist. It's not every day we see Jack's personal life, and I mean his pre-Eureka life, pop up into view. His wife does look like a hasbeen porn star, but that doesn't stand in the way of some good old fun. This episode would have been a lot better if it focused more on Jack's exwife, and less on just another grudge-fueled science experiment gone wrong.

Greek The Rusty Nail Avg Score: 9.21 Total Ratings: 103 Total Reviews: 5 |
It seems as if Greek is finally settling in, the bustle of the pilot episode being long gone, we can know see the show for what it really is and is going to be. Where most shows fall down a huge cliff after the pilot, Greek only makes a little fumble. If even that. The intricate dealings in the love triangle (or square) between Case, Cappy, Evan, and that spoiled rich girl are becoming ever more clear, the battle has begun, and the real carnage is about to break loose. Although it doesn't seem as if Casey and Evan are anywhere near breaking up, bad advice given to both of them almost put a big dent in their Volvo. Calvin, meanwhile, exploers and experiments some more with hes seemingly newfound love for men. Nobody seems to have any clue, even though it's all so obvious. Not even the tall skinny girl Calvin is stuck with doing chores has the brain cells to figure it out. Not that that's a big surprise, but still.
Virginity is a blessing from God, but Rusty seems to disagree. Cappy sets him up with the loosest girl on campus, and they come ever so close to doing the deed. At the very last moment (not literally), Rusty decides he'd better not begin something he'll regret later on, despite what Lisa told him about how it's about the fun, not about the love.
If Greek manages to keep this up I can see it stay for two seasons at the least!

Californication Avg Score: 9.09 Total Ratings: 2840 Total Reviews: 61 Users who agree: 1 Users who disagree: 1 |
At first I was really reluctant about watching Californication. The story about a hasbeen one hit wonder didn't seem so appealing to me. Thought it was a serious story about a middleaged man struggling along. Trying to keep his life in balance while getting his career back on track.
And I guess I was right in a way. The only thing I didn't take in account was the actor playing the main character. This guy is amazing, and honestly manages to portray the character of a messed up writer to near perfection. Drugs, sex, and alcohol. It's all he loves, and all he cares about. Or so it seems. Part of him misses his wife and cares about his daughter. He is aware of his addictions yet he makes no effort to get rid of them, why get rid of something you enjoy on a daily basis? It doesn't make sense in the slightest, yet he's going to attempt, and succeed, one way or the other.
It's the adventurous lifestyle of the main character that makes this show worth watching. It's the difference between your average white collar midlife crisis, and the life of a wannabe rockstar.
