Family Guy and Why It Doesn't Appeal to Me

It seems that every time my friends and I bring up TV shows, the topic of Family Guy always comes up. I mean, I could say  "On Lost last night, so and so found a time bomb burried near the beach! Isn't that cool?" and one of my friends will say , "Yeah! That's like on Family Guy where so and so was riding in a car and made a joke about Winona Judd having a time bomb! Ha! Ha! Ha! Why aren't you laughing?" I find the majority of the jokes found on Family Guy are irrelevent and pointless. Don't get me wrong, the jokes are funny and it's an okay show, but if that's the only way the show can be funny, then NO THANKS! On a TV Guide channel interview, the creater of the series, Seth Mc-something-or-another practically admitted the show to be duplicated from The Simpsons, in fact The Simpons used to do sort of irrelevent jokes every now and then about 10 years ago, but they stopped because shows like Family Guy stole the device. It really agitates me.

Quite possibly in my top 5 favorite episodes. I mean, it has it all: "Painting someone's face while making love,
beating a man's head in with a soap statuette, and finding an eyeball in your soap! Cristi Conaway gives a wonderful performance in her role as "Willa (what kind of name is that?) Sandleton." She really captures the manurisms of an impatient, self-centered, egomaniac-- trust me, I know a couple-- who absolutely hates her husband. It's because of her mean attitude that makes the ending put a smile on my face every time I watch it. Though, I really don't think that a bar of soap derived from a dead man's body would melt your entire skin off, I guess I'll have to look that up, unless someone who knows for a fact that it will happen because it happened to their aunt's cousin's uncle's friend's daughter's husband's sister could drop me a line, until then, I'm a non-believer.

Wowwy wow whoah wow! A FABULOUS episode that tops a lot of other episodes in the series. Like it says, this is exactly why I watched the show. Ewan McGregor makes a funny bank robber and zombie and it is sad to see his face get shot off by a shotgun in the end (don't worry, he's a zombie, he can't die). So, in case some crazy man ever walks up to you on the street and says "Hey, I gots every episode of Tales From the Crypt. Ya want one?" just keep this episode in mind, you won't reget it!

Holy half-decomposed businessmen! The special effects in this episode are superb! It all starts out with a man that injected a preservative in his own head, making it a slimy, irredescent color and at the end of the episode, the complete right half of Clancy Brown's character's body starts to decompose.... 'Half Way Horrible' is a must see for any Tales From the Crypt fan. Cheech Marin plays a respectable doctor which, as we all know, is a ten mile jump from characters he usually plays! All together, "Half Way Horrible" is a great episode that anyone should check out.

A very good episode in the series. Brad Douriff is really convincing as a handicapped individual. For those of you who say "Yeah right!" then just try not to drop your jaw when Bill Paxton's character slaps him around and knocks his food out of his hands. A high level of blood and guts for those of you that are into that kind of thing (I have to admit, though, that it's kind of funny to see Bill Paxton get his leg blown off with a shotgun!). All in all I would say that this episode is enjoyable and funny that leaves pretty much everyone in it dead or attached to a dead man- just watch it and you'll see what I mean!

Well, where to start? First off, let's get one thing straight, the episode is pronounced "Amber-GREE"
(for those of you who haven't seen Master and Commander).
The episode is wonderfully rittled with goop, gore, and grue. Roger Daltrey's performance is superbly evil! The only part that seemed unbelievable to me was when Dalton (Roger Daltrey) sends Ike (Steve Buscemi) to the Jungle Rot-plagued village of Vamalara and all the US soldiers do is stand around and say "Duh... okay, Roger, we trust you in sending your main competition to a germ warzone!" All in all, the episode is a must see (which makes me wonder why it has received such a low score...) and is chock full of people's eyes popping out, backs splitting open, and noses falling off. Don't miss it!

Well hello there. I'm Kip. I prefer more series, compelling TV shows such as House or 24. Also, I enjoy a good horror and scifi show like Tales From the Crypt or the Twilight Zone. And of course, comedies (I'm not an emotioneless drone, ya know) such as The Simpsons or King of the Hill.
