It's Monday, but not your Monday

Not much to report today. Back to work as today is my Monday. I got Jon's drunky bloggy done, so I can check that off the To-do list. Woot woot. I got some errands run this weekend. I got some new clothes, a new suit. I took my nephew to the park again on Wednesday, and I'll be taking him again tomorrow. Really ... my life is exactly this boring. I have to go to a mandatory Violence in the Workplace seminar. The fun here never ends.

The shows that I have recording tonight are, Boston Legal, Criminal Minds, Back to You, and 'Til Death. Monday night I watched HIMYM, 2.5 Men, Rules of Engagement, CSI: Miami and The Big Bang Theory. Tuesday night was NCIS, Reaper and Women's Murder Club. It's a shame that WMC isn't being renewed, that show was finally getting some meat on it's bones. Reaper is getting renewed and will premier later in the fall as a mid-season replacement, which if you ask me is pretty stupid. I'm looking forward to Thursday night TV as Thurs and Fri are my two big TV nights. Thursday: Ugly Betty, Grey's Anat, Lost, Smallville, Supernatural. Friday: Ghost Whisperer, Moonlight, Numb3rs, Sarah Jane Adventures, Dr. Who, and BSG. I really miss having Thursday and Friday nights off.

Anywho ... there's the low-down on my TV Showdown:

TV Bigshot

And that's all folks.

Bright Blessings

Friday ~ But not MY Friday

Hullo everyone, It's FRIDAY. And happy Friday to those who have the weekend off. I do not. I work Wednesday through Sunday, so two more days for me until my 'weekend'.

I haven't been doing too much lately. I've been working out every morning for twenty-thirty minutes. I've been keeping up with my house-cleaning, so as not to have to utilize an entire 10 days again to get it back up to par.

Today, I went to Target, because there were a few things I needed to pick-up. I got myself a new vacuum today (I'd been borrowing my mother's as my old one went KAPUT). I really like it, and I hope it lasts. I do like the bagless vacs these days.

I also picked up one of those triple laundry sorter dealies. I don't know how to explain it. I'll see if I can find a picture and link it.

Laundry Sorter

Ah ^ ^ ^ there's the link for ya.

Before shopping, I went to my mother's house and hung out with my nephew for a while, it helps my mother out a lot when I can come over and distract him a bit. His baby sister is a bit of a crier. She seems to have some abandonment issues. I keep telling my mother that she has to let her lay there and cry or the baby will never get over that and will always be a needy little thing.

This weekend, (Monday or Tuesday) I'm planning on getting out on my bike. It's been really nice out lately ... with temps between 60 and 80 degrees. Perfect cycling weather.

Last night's LOST was amazing and next weeks looks to be even better. Thursday and Friday nights are my big TV nights. On Thursdays I record Smallville, Supernatural, Ugly Betty, Grey's Anatomy, and LOST. Then on Friday nights I record Ghost Whisperer, Moonlight (one of my new faves), Numbers, Dr. Who, and The Sarah Jane Adventures.

Last night I watched LOST, and as I said it was amazing. I also watched Grey's Anatomy, I like the way they're going back to their earlier, more lighthearted concept. I thought it was hilarious the way Bailey put Sloan right into his place. Today ... I watched Ugly Betty, which was really terrific, with the birth of the baby, and of course the ultimate death of Betty's relationship with Henry :cryI love Christopher Gorham). I've only watched half of Smallville and still have to watch Supernatural. I'll comment on those later.

Tonight, as I've said again, I'm watching GW, Moonlight, Numbers, DW, and TSJA. I probably won't get all of them watched tonight either, but will probably carry them over through the weekend. More comments on those tomorrow.

Tomorrow night, Robin Hood is on, I'm really happy that they renewed this adventurous show. This year seems to be shaping up to be even better than last.

I suppose that's all the news. I hope ya'll have a terrific weekend. Don't forget to welcome Sparkle back from her quick ChiTown weekend trip come Monday.

Bright Blessings

~S~

Happy Flying

I may have posted this before, but it made me chuckle again, so ... well ... here:

Happy Flying

Just in case you need a laugh: Remember it takes a college degree to fly a plane but only a high school diploma to fix one.

Reassurance for those of us who fly routinely in our jobs. After every flight, Qantas pilots fill out a form, called a "gripe sheet," this tells mechanics about problems with the aircraft. The mechanics correct the problems; document their repairs on the form, and then pilots review the gripe sheets before the next flight.

Here are some actual maintenance complaints submitted by Qantas' pilots (marked with a P) and the solutions recorded

(marked with an S) by maintenance engineers.

FYI. Qantas is the only major airline that has never, ever had a major accident.

P: Left inside main tire almost needs replacement.

S: Almost replaced left inside main tire.

*~*~*~*~*

P: Test flight OK, except auto-land very rough.

S: Auto-land not installed on this aircraft.

*~*~*~*~*

P: Something loose in cockpit.

S: Something tightened in cockpit.

*~*~*~*~*

P: Dead bugs on windshield.

S: Live bugs on back-order.

*~*~*~*~*

P: Autopilot in altitude-hold mode produces a 200 feet per minute descent.

S: Cannot reproduce problem on ground.

*~*~*~*~*

P: Evidence of leak on right main landing gear.

S: Evidence removed.

*~*~*~*~*

P: DME volume unbelievably loud.

S: DME volume set to more believable level.

*~*~*~*~*

P: Friction locks cause throttle levers to stick.

S: That's what friction locks are for.

*~*~*~*~*

P: IFF inoperative in OFF mode

S: IFF always inoperative in OFF mode

*~*~*~*~*

P: Suspected crack in windshield.

S: Suspect you're right.

*~*~*~*~*

P: Number 3 engine missing.

S: Engine found on right wing after brief search.

*~*~*~*~*

P: Aircraft handles funny. (I love this one!)

S: Aircraft warned to straighten up, fly right, and be serious.

*~*~*~*~*

P: Target radar hums.

S: Reprogrammed target radar with lyrics.

*~*~*~*~*

P: Mouse in cockpit

S: Cat installed.

*~*~*~*~*

And the best one for last

*~*~*~*~*

P: Noise coming from under instrument panel. Sounds like a midget pounding something with hammer.

S: Took hammer away from midget.

This episode was by far the best of the season. I couldn't believe how much tension there was in the situation. It was unbelievable. I also could not believe the shootout at the end. Incredible. Dale's role was awesome, he really is a go getter. I love the way Jake 'n' co refuse to let anything happen to their people. Bonnie is a HUGE loss to the show, she's an amazing actress and was a wonderful character. It's really surprising at this point that we only have 3 more episodes left. I have to say ... this really needs to get renewed. This episode left me stunned and shell-shocked. It was truly a breakthrough.

This was such a cool episode. With the drug being manufactured out of Vampire blood. It was extremely creative and innovative. The fight scenes were imaginative and fast-paced, and the dialogue is witty. Each week I'm happier and happier with the way the series is moving along. I like seeing Mick and Beth working together and becoming friends. In addition, the little triangle between her Josh and Mick is stimulating. I think the writers as well as the actors are doing a fantastic job in making the series seem so effortless. I anxiously await more each week I love to see what they do next.

What an awesome episode. I did feel empathy for the Vampire Boy. I mean, to be stuck at that awkward age for all those years would be horrid. I think the show is doing a fine job with the sexual tension between Beth and Mick. I love all the characters in this show, Mick and Josef being my two favorites. I hope we get to see more of Josef and get to delve into his past a little bit. I'd like a few more flashbacks of Mick as well. That's always fun!!! This was an excellent episode, this show is definately not disappointing, can't wait for next week!!!

I was not all that impressed by this show. I thought the pacing was a little slow. In addition, the characters are a little whiney to be such powerhouses. It seemed off. I'm going to continue watching in the hopes that it gets a little more interesting. One of the reason's I even started watching it was because of I've been a fan of Lindsay Price's for a while. I don't believe it was a horrible episode, I just think the characters need to be developed more and the story-line needs to be tightened up, then I think it would be a much better show. We'll see how I feel about it next week, but if it doesn't get a bit better, I'm thinking it will be tanked.

This was an intense and exciting episode. The episode was packed with action and commotion. Obviously after an attack of the proportion we saw, people would expect that things wouldn't work as normal. I really like all of the personal relationships and the tensions of the people. In addition, the secretive nature of Hawkins makes the show even more titillating. It's fascinating to learn the little tidbits about him. In addition, they're doing a bang-up job on the relationship developing between Stanley and Mimi. That's a fun situation because she's so abrasive. I'm thoroughly enjoying this show and look forward to a new episode each week.

About Me

SweetPeaSurry
I'm just your average TV junkie and Bibliophile. I'm 32/F/Ne. I had 2 'Canine Kids', whom I thoroughly loved, Fancy Pants Mashka (passed July 2007) and Princess Sava's Fancy (passed February 2008). I enjoy several programs, my current favorites would have to be, Ghost Whisperer, Moonlight, Heroes, BSG, The Closer, Firefly (of course!!!), Lost, Hex, Dr. Who,Numbers, and Army Wives!!! (the list goes on and on) In addition to being a TV Junkie, as I said I'm also a severe Bibliophile. Now, in case your minds are in the gutter on that one, it essentially means ... I read ... A LOT. My favorite authors are Nora Roberts, Janet Evanovich, Dickens, Tolstoy, Dostoyevsky, Hemingway, Fitzgerald, Peter Pullman, Paolini, and sometimes Danielle Steele to name a few. I usually go through 4-5 books a week, depending on the severity of the writing. (IE. Dickens doesn't get done in a few days, but Nora does) If you want to know more ... jussa hafta ask!!!
