First Snow Arrives..

Got the first snowfall of the season this weekend. I was driving from our place into the city at the time. Turned a corner in the next town over and could not see the garage just two houses away.

45 minutes latter I was out of it and another 30 minutes later I was approaching the city in bright sunshine with blue skies above me.

All this after a week when one day it was 15, the next 2 then 12 then 4.. I guess the best way to put it is the weather's changing more frequently than TV exec's mind.

Why do I watch shows I don't like?

I'm not a fan of Cane, yet I've watched just about all of the episodes. I just switched the channels to put it on again and I listen and watch and wonder why. I've no answer for it.

It could be stopped though if Bionic Woman or Criminal Minds where moved into that time slot on that day then I would be torn between which to watch "live" and which to hold over until later. Some of that is dictated by the talk at work and some by the interest factor of the episode itself. Normally it's Woman because it's the new show on the block for me.

Couple of hits, Couple of misses... For me atleast.

Enjoying Bionic Woman and Pushing Up Daisies from the new shows. Moonlight and Cane need to go.

The revamped Bionic Woman blows away the original show with it's Alias organization running the Bionics experimentation group.

Pushing Up Daisies is a very off beat and interesting show that might not have the legs to last a full season but it's going to be fun watching it whilst it lasts.

Been Awhile

Jericho is coming back and CBS are doing their bit to ensure it has a chance of success by scheduling repeats of at least part of the first season. Nice to see they didn't just hang it out to dry and prove they where right to cancel it in the first place.

Just want to say thank you for this CBS. Now kill that Kid Nation show.. it looks like a real dog to me.

CBS delivers rotten fish

That's right, your news shows show little promise of something remotely matching the show you just cancelled especially Kid Nation which takes the place of that show.

Smarten up and renew Jericho as a mid season replacement for the failures you just green lit.

Didn't feel like the usual Chuck story because of that but then again maybe we'll be looking back at this episode as the one that was the turning point of the season. One that sets it all up for a very long run on TV.

The one thing this episode relied on was that Chuck's intercept didn't know everything (allowing the evil agents to infiltrate the Buy More without Chuck "flashing" on them). It the start of the end for the show unless they find a way to "top" up the information Chuck is holding.

Anyway, the basic story line was Bryce comes back, he and Sarah connect, he and Chuck connect (and talk Klingon). Chuck turns out to be a good guy and the bad guys are after him. They defeat the bad guys and Bryce disappears into the sunset whilst the episode ends with Sarah left having to make a choice.

The show's start was delayed and pushed into the summer which was a shame but did mean it was up against limited competition for newer shows.

The show follows two college room mates as they seek to descover why the other college student they shared a house with set them up for a terrorist attack. All this whilst they themselves are on the run from the FBI for the said attack.

Revelations come pretty freely through the season but also open up more and more questions. Questions that ultimately won't get answered on the screen (the creators have revealed what they had planned for the future of the show since it's cancellation). The good though is we do get an answer for who Will Traveller is.

The mummified remains of a young girl are found in a halloween maze to start the investigation setting in motion all of this series staple investigative processes.

The pacing of the episode is fine but once it's all over your left wanting more answers. Like why did the killer decide to start dumping the bodies at this time? It didn't make sense for him to start now unless something was changing in his life (like relocating to another city - which would mean no more bodies this year but there was one). Why would the team dress up for the haloween party whilst they worked on an active case? Add to this that the minute I saw the medic guy treating the woman I knew he was the killer.

Still enjoyed watching it however.

We discover another of Will Traveller's aliases (I don't for one minute believe that the boys have uncovered his real name) and meet the girl he's looking to escape his current life with. The action continues through the episode too with man who helped the boys escape New York and FBI custody reappearing at the end. Who is he? What are his motives? Maybe next week will tell us?

What I don't like about the show is the only FBI agent that has doubts of the boys guilt is the one with a troubled past. It's the one thing that annoys me about the show because it's typical TV.

All in all this was a good episode that at the very least gave us a feeling we knew more at the end of it than we did at the beginning without actually giving away all that much.

Very disappointed with this episode - the season finale - because the whole series set it up that there would be a huge battle between Peter and Sylar but what we got was a big fizzle.

It did do one thing right, it set up the next season by revealing there was someone worse than the boogie man (Sylar) out there. Who is it? We don't know but you can be sure he'll be a big player next season.

About Me

Th3L05T
I'm a British Science Fiction nut living on the east coast of Canada. Grew up on Doctor Who and consumed just about every Sci-Fi show on television. Many of which remain favorites today (Blake's 7, Sapphire and Steel, Day Of The Triffids, etc). These days I'm hooked on Lost, Jericho and Heroes. And if they'd continued it Surface.
