Just Like You (I'm baack)
I only realised when I came on the computer today, that I haven't actually been on here for over 2 months!
I've missed so much!I think it was my Life on Mars DVD's that kept me distracted.
Seriously, so addictive, it's unreal.
And I've missed everyone HEAPS ![]()
I thought I'd post the lyrics (which make no sense at all) to a song that I've recently become insanely addicted to, by Roxy Music
. Oh, what 70's music does to me!
Just Like You.
Buttercup daisies
And most anything
They wither and fade
After blossom in spring
Time conquers innocence
Pride takes a fall
In knowledge lies wisdom
Thatīs all
Everything changes
Weather blows hot or cold
Through alchemy iron turns gold
Quicksilver baby
So hard to pin down
Oh when are you coming around?
Hopelessly grounded
I walk through the streets
Remembering how we spent time
Hopefully yearning that someday weīll meet
But when will we, how could we - why? oh my!
Fashion houses ladies
Need plenty loose change
When the latest creation
Is last yearīs fab-rave
Thought patterns hazy
This auto-styIe age
Will lady luck smile old and sage?
She knows that ......
Never again, no, will I give up my heart
To gamble with fate is my crime
Nevertheless love, itīs all here in my book
Iīd write it but donīt have much time
You see, I know it sounds crazy
But what can I do?
Iīve fallen head over heels, over you
Chameleon colour
All phases of moon
The shifting of planets
And leopard spots too
As destiny wills it
So seasons will change
Just like you
Birthdaaaaaay
So I'm 17 now ![]()
It was my birthday on Thursday, and oh what a birthday it was!
Brilliant presents, and brill friends ![]()
Plus, now I'm allowed to have driving lessons!
WAHEYYY!
STOP INTERFERING YOU ABSOLUTE IDlOT!
Well, I think a few people should know who and WHAT I am refering to.
WHAT being the operative word.
Why some stupid, irritating, self important, aggrivating, PATRONISING *people* don't leave us alone to do what we want, which isn't hurting a soul, I'll never know.
GET OUT!
![]()
So, I'm famous now :)
haha, well, that's exaggerating just a tiiiiny bit!
Basically, my friend and I requested BBC Radio 2 on Sunday (Elaine Paige show anyone?) to play a song for us (Unusual Way from the musical Nine- seriously, it's beautiful), not thinking they'd play it.
But, surely enough they did, and afterwards, I was jumping around absolutely squeeing, when Elaine Paige said 'And I played that song for Abi Vincent, and Jess Doble.'
haaaaa!
My name said on the radio for the whole of the UK to hear... who'd have thought it eh? ![]()
On a more serious note, college on Wednesday ![]()
Oh well... better make the most of it!

The Avengers Avg Score: 8.57 Total Ratings: 385 Total Reviews: 14 Users who agree: 1 |
Emma Peel and John Steed had undeniable chemistry- they could heat up the screen with just a sideways glance and a smouldering sigh.
For me, when she left, nothing was ever the same again- John Steed just didn't seem himself any more!
The Emma Peel episodes are the ones I watch- I live for the unbeatable chemistry between Rigg and Macnee.
For me, The Avengers is definitely under appreciated- It set the precedent for other shows, and truly was the ultimate.

Sex and the City Avg Score: 8.76 Total Ratings: 4077 Total Reviews: 164 |
I didn't watch Sex And The City for the first two or three season, probably because I was too young, but I remember season 4, that was when I started to get interested.
I just remember thinking it was so different to anything else I had seen on television before; it just seemed to tackle things head on so to speak.
I know that some people seemed to be bothered by the sex scenes, but for me they just showed the true characters!
Season 6 was definitely my favourite.
There were many reasons for this; one, I liked seeing the way that things were wrapped up. The second reason was that Samantha had always been my favourite, and I just loved seeing her story and personality change so drastically; due to both Smith and her cancer.
Overall, I just loved this show.
I'd love to see some kind of return!

Life on Mars (UK) Avg Score: 8.77 Total Ratings: 1188 Total Reviews: 58 |
Life on Mars is amazingly well written: the dialogue absolutely sparkles.
The premise of the show is great: if not quite confusing at times!
The character of Gene Hunt has to be one of the best scripted characters to date! The one liners he comes out with are absolutely cracking, and guarantee to raise a laugh out of all viewers!
I think what kept me glued to the screen wasn't so much the sense of mystery (though that was great too), it was the chemistry between Sam and Annie.
Every episode I watched, I hoped for the kiss, and when it finally came in the series finale, it didn't disappoint.
Absolutely beautiful relationship-- and extremely mind boggling ending!

Bananas In Pajamas Avg Score: 7.28 Total Ratings: 211 Total Reviews: 32 Users who disagree: 1 |
I miss this show so much!!
They stopped showing it over here in the UK, and I had almost forgotten about it, but not quite!
This is truly a classic show, evident in the fact that practically all of the people I know STILL sing the theme song on a regular basis!
I absolutely loved 'Banana's in pajamas' as a small child, and I still remember sitting in my front room watching it on children's tv.
BRING IT BACK!

Are You Afraid of the Dark? Avg Score: 8.89 Total Ratings: 1490 Total Reviews: 168 |
It made more of an impact on me than 'Goosebumps' because I personally found it a LOT more scary! I can't remember much of the stories, but I do remember I would leave the room when the titles came on because they full on creeped me out (I was about 5, to be fair).
I actually really miss this show!
And I'm curious to find out how I would see it from a different perspective now!
Bring it back!
