There is a really interesting moment in this episode where Ed and Carol are leading an architect through Stuckeybowl as part of their "landmark status" quest and in the background you see Shirley throw some sort of beverage on a man at the snack counter... Then she turns and waves to somebody. A few moments later you see Shirley wiping the man's chest while she looks away.

Also in this episode we learn that good ol' Phil Stubbs regularly poses as a doctor to attend MENSA gatherings and, presumably, hit on women.

Ten dollar bet: Ed has to yell "I love kitties" in the middle of the bowling alley.

The pilot of ED is a bit wierd in the sense that it mostly feels like the second episode. There is a back-story montage at the beginning which looks like it was it's own episode at some point, perhaps the true Ed pilot. Probably the pilot and second episode were edited together to make a new "first" episode. Also, Janeane Garofalo does not appear in this episode at all, let alone as Liz Stevens (as she is credited on this site).
