Podcast

A friend and I started a movie podcast. We've done three episodes so far and the next one is scheduled for this coming Sunday at 8.

You can check out our podcast here - http://www.talkshoe.com/tc/14391

You can email us at film.geeks@yahoo.com with any questions you want answered and if they're good we might even put them in the show. We would also love fan and/or hate mail which we'd also be willing to air.

We've also started a MySpace page here - http://www.myspace.com/filmgeeksshow

And our blog here - http://filmgeeksshow.blogspot.com/

New video series - B Movie

, being the average joe I am, have made a new series that I call "B Movie" and have posted them online. The first video basically explains the premise. You'll have to forgive me that it's not the best looking, since I am only an amateur. So please don't mock me too much :-D ,

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o2ZUAm3lP88 - Intro

The following 3 links are to the new episode of B Movie (it's broken into 3 parts). Enjoy!

B Movie - Episode 2 - Attack Of The Klowns

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x_VPYB_qBRc - Part 1

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=08EO7RdBbKU - Part 2

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v43fs5A9pa0 - Part 3

Yes I know I sometimes suck in it...but it's me talking about B Movies...do you really expect Spielberg? or even his brother Spielberger?

Alrighty, folks, here's episode 3 of B Movie:

Conspiricies, Christianity, And Etc.

A beacon of truth...in the land of darkness. A pillar of fire exposing government cover-ups, such as 9/11. A lamppost for religious subjects, such as pro-Creationism/anti-evolution; and a flicker of fun.

Yes, I know the wrestling brings in a lot of money. However, have you seen the crap they buy with that money?! Billy Baldwin as a washed up cop who works security and gets transported back in time to fight harpies. Seriously?! This is what they replaced Farscape and SG-1 with?! Ya, using 2 to 3 hours of sci-fi time is really worth that. It just makes me sick at times to see a great channel like Sci-Fi use to be to play this "show" that has absolutely nothing to do with anything even closely related to science fiction. Come on Sci-Fi...learn from G4 when it changed all the great programs it had when it acquired TechTV!

It took me a season for me to attempt to like this spin off. I was very weary to let another SG show into my life, fearing that it would turn out to be crap and ruin the whole universe for me. I was not disappointed, however. This show had all the charm and action of SG-1...even if Jack O'Neill wasn't in it. I loved the Wraith as the new bad guy but I wasn't really happy to see the Replicators come back. Also, why did Rainbow even join the show if he was going to only show up for less than half the episodes? He was in the credits for the first season...usually you don't write those people out the story line for a while. Sheppard and McKay make this show a great show.

Sci-Fi always has a reputation of rescuing shows that were cut down before their prime. SG-1 was one of those. It took me a while to get on board with this show but once the DVDs started coming out I was freakin hooked. O'Neill's humor made the show for me but the dynamic of the whole show really drew me in. Action, comedy, sci-fi, Star Trek/Wars jokes...everything. I can't wait for the 2 movies to come out to bring about the end of this great show. I was so mad at Sci-Fi when they decided not to continue the show but instead decided to continue Atlantis and maybe start another spin off series. WTF, mate?! All that aside I know this is one of the shows I will show my kids someday to get them hooked on sci-fi. This show had and was everything...the embodiment of sci-fi.

This show started out pretty good although a few of the subplots and the way the story progressed was a bit odd and unnecessary. Pretty much when the alien turns into a human and produces offspring is when this went from a great show to an ok show. The portrayal of the government agency was ok but a bit eccentric. Spielberg did a good job directing and it was an entertaining show. I do wish that more alien shows would deal with aliens with a more realistic plan the aliens have and behave. Most of the time aliens are either evil and want to colonize us or they have no set plan. Still, this wasn't a bad show for a 10 part mini-series.

It always amazes me how great the story telling was in the early years of TV. This is one of the earliest time travel shows. The great thing about this show was not only did they go into the past but they also went to the future. Even though I'm a huge critic of time travel this show had some great plots. I was always amazed at how much actual science this show had in it and it taught me a lot about history. I was also really surprised at how great the special effects were for their time, especially the lab scenes and the future scenes. One of the best looking episodes was the space craft that is on its way to Mars and had to go to the moon. My favorite episode has to be the Pearl Harbor episode. Such great acting and action for a show so "old". I love having the DVD collection and watch it whenever the mood strikes me.
