Chelsea Lately Avg Score: 8.28 Total Ratings: 120 Total Reviews: 19 Users who disagree: 2 |
While a typical "dish the dirt" show, Chelsea comes off as funny and entertaining. Topical humor mixed with her own experiences are funny and enjoyable. One would think with the bigger network's talk shows ceasing production, there would be better guests, and I hope to see this in the future. If you're bored from the lack of funny in the world, and especially on television, I encourage you to give Chelsea Lately a try. A couple of episodes and I have know doubt you'll be hooked. Not every joke hits the mark, but few miss, and it's definitely worth 22 minutes for at least a few laughs.

Pushing Daisies Corpsicle Avg Score: 9.45 Total Ratings: 248 Total Reviews: 18 Users who agree: 1 |
While the facts are these, the site limits the summary to 255 words, but it only takes 220 words, 4 minutes, and 32 seconds to sum up the events of this episode, and tell other viewers how unique this entire series has been. Each week, Emerson and Ned investigate a death and collect a reward money as their prize -that's about it in a nut shell (as Ned has explained to Chuck). This show is campy, at times, silly, but with out question one of the most incredibily entertaining and different shows currently on television. The writing has been fantastic, the dialogue is outstanding, the backgrounds are creative, and every show is shocking and hypnotic. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a very different and enjoyable story. It is refreshing to suspend disbelief and enjoy stories such as this.

How I Met Your Mother The Platinum Rule Avg Score: 9.16 Total Ratings: 201 Total Reviews: 7 Users who agree: 3 |
How I met your mother isn't your average sit come. It's no surprise that these five characters gel well together and each episode has a unique and creative storyline. As Ted attempts to have a tattoo removed from his lower back, which the other cast members refer to as a "tramp stamp", they also try to convince him not to date his doctor. The entire premise is based on not dating those you have to see everyday in case it turns out for the worst. Each of the characters have a story for Ted to support there argument. The stories overlap in entertaining and humorous ways. While Barney is the first and most passionate about the argument, citing his "Platinum Rule", we find he suffered the least of the consequences. Each episode is a well written account of the lives of each character, contuing to lead up to the ultimate point of the story - How did Ted meet the kids' (shown in the begging of each episode) mother? More importantly, who does he ultimately meet and marry. The characters all play a strong part in each storyline. The dialogue borders on hilarious and is always unique to other shows in its genre.

Boston Legal No Brains Left Behind Avg Score: 9.21 Total Ratings: 78 Total Reviews: 2 Users who agree: 3 Users who disagree: 2 |
Once again drawin on reali life issues in society, Alan and Denny attempt to sue the National Guard. Alan reaffirms his abilities to turn court room trials into a circus, although to a slightly lesser degree in this epidose. Meanwhile, Carl questions his role at the firm, and more development is revealed about a cast regular who was actually from England, but assumed a new identity after running a prostitution ring in her 20's. Boston Legal continues to shock it's views with stories about life in the U.S. and the affairs of goverment facing the country. This becomes especially clear with the "no child left behind" concept. While Alan is a stern Democrat, it is entertaining that his outrageous friend is a republican. The dialogue is shocking and well written and brings issues to light that Americans may not realize concerning the expense of the war, education, and the security of the country. Meanwhile, as Shirley's relationship with Carl unfolds, Shirley's grand daughter faces expulsion from school for vandalism in the vein of shredding standardized tests, while emphasizing the differences in our education system compared to those abroad. Nearing the summmation of the story, Alan, with Denny are inspired to serve their country, but find they are too old to provide any assistance, even with the National Guard depleted, as well as so many removed from the services due to sexual preference. Without question, this series consistently provides great television and relevant and interesting story lines.

In a strong effort to introduce the series, we see Angel in a bar in L.A., acting drunk, he sees a few guys playing pool with some girls. In the back ground, his commentary explains his reasoning for moving to L.A. - just like most, there's no questioning his reasons, it always seems to be about a girl. Not long after, slaying the vampires and keeping himself cut off from the victims, he returns to his new home and meets Doyle. Doyle is a man who also claims to have reasons for atonement. Doyle rehashes Angel's story, boring Angel, but helping new viewers not familiar with the great love story between Buffy and Angel, not to mention Angel's tortured existence. Lindsay and Wolfram and Hart (the law firm) are also introduced for the first time. Finally, Cordelia is brought in as a regular. Originally, I had my doubts on how well removing Angel from the Buffy series and allowing him to stand alone, but this episode is a must see, not to mention very entertaining. It sets the tone and the storyline for the entire season. It is exceptionally well written and will, without question, stand the test of time.
