Too Young

It's crazy how someone you don't even know can affect your life in such a way that when they pass away you are in disbelief and mourn in a way that you weren't expecting.

Heath Ledger

Such a short life. I miss him already.

Yep

My 6 year old son has developed a seemingly unhealthy obsession with Rod Stewart.

My dog has OCD.

My cat is captivated by my very exisitance.... and it's scaring me.

Clothing should be optional.

Cigarettes are poisoning me.

Madonna is the reason the mute button was invented.

Whatever happened to Pauly Shore? Nevermind, I don't care anymore.

I might possibly die if I do not get to see Def Leppard in April.

When did I become the adult??

Kid Rock for President

It's Been 17 Years

Yesterday was the 17th anniversary of Steve Clark's death. Steve Clark was a guitar player in Def Leppard. He was only 30 when he died. Not to sound too cheesy - but he is gone but not forgotten, at least not by me.

Okay - enough with the women coming on the show and Don already knows them, has been with them in one form or another, it ended badly, and now it's going to start up again. My eyes rolled so many times during the scenes with Don and the new "old girlfriend", I thought they might pop out of my head. What I am wondering is - can they not keep these actors on the show long enough for Don to have some type of long term relationship, or are they just trying to keep his character the perpetual bachelor. Mr. Unlucky in love, the tough cop (or FBI agent) who can't commit. Come On!! It's defintely in his character to have a lasting, loving relationship. But if they want the bachelor thing - then at least introduce a woman that Don has never had the chance to meet and piss off. Or hey, let's just not worry about a love interest for the elder Epps brother. His love scenes never really rang true for me anyway. Now, on to the "review" part. This was a pretty mediocre episode. Besides the comic relief of Charlie receiving FBI training, I was underwhelmed. This is what I lusted after on my DVR for more than a week, waiting with anticipation of that perfect moment that I could watch uninterrupted? I must be getting dumber in my old age, but the whole story line was confusing. Not as confusing as some other episodes from this series, but vague nonetheless. I did appreciate the chess aspect, or at least David's inability to excel. I am totally incapable of playing in any civilized manner - yet my 13 year old daughter can play with the best of them. But, an average episode of Numb3rs is better than most anything else. I am just so happy to be seeing new ones that they could remake an old Andy Griffith show story line, with Larry in the role of Barney Fife and I would be completely mesmerized.

Okay, this show has now officially entered the top ten of my favourite current shows. The Civil War was always one of my favourite thing to study in history. So this episode was especially interesting to me. And the fact that the writers included very accurate information only made it that much more awesome! The inclusion of Walt Whitman was genius. So for the writer who is a Civil War nut like me - I got it!! The Battle of Antiedam was a good battle to choose for the flashbacks. It was one of the better known battles. Don't get me wrong, the whole reason it was brought into this story was not lost on me. I know he remembered having a patient who had PTSD, and he didn't do much to help him with the pain that wasn't physical. So he really wanted to help the soldier who was suffering from the same affliction in current times. Loved the part where he checks his pulse when he sees the doctor. It took my breath away, it was romantic in a innocent but cheesy way. Though it's not the "finding his one true love" that interests me as much as his long life and his evolution through time, I did feel as if I had been punched in the gut much like I am sure he felt when the Dr. Sara introduces him to her wanker looking husband.

Keep it coming!! I have the episodes marked on my calendar.

I am so glad I started watching this show. It reminds me of one of my favorite television shows as a child, which was Quantum Leap. It is great to catch a glimpse into other time periods. I can't really say why that is favourable, except that you can never really guess as to where he will "land" next. I was quite surprised that Omar was revealed as his son. They have zero chemistry as father and son, but I guess that is why their relationship works. I loved the interaction between John and Corey, his Great grandson. John was genuinely caring without being overt about it. Corey was funny, I hope we see him again.

Eva has to quit whining that John doesn't let her in on anything. It's already getting old. I like her character, I think she has some really original qualities, but unfortunately they are being over shadowed by a few VERY overdone qualities. But still, I think they work well together. But I think it could be better.

As for the cop storyline, I watched this episode twice and still didn't much like it. Yes, capitalize on the current trend of teacher/student relationships. Yes, the teacher can even be hot, that happens in real life too. But the whole screwed up thing about the husband finding out, kicking him off the track team, the ex and soon to be current girlfriend gets her hands on compromising pictures - it just left me feeling confused and unfulfilled. It did hardly anything but show how John can relate to the victims of the crime, no matter what their background is. But who am I kidding? I don't much care about the cop story. I care about John Amsterdam.

This episode was not as funny as the first one. But my favorite part was the fact that is dog in current times name is 36, and his dog in the 1940's was 29. Priceless!!

I was really worried this would be another let down. But surprisingly, it wasn't. I really enjoyed the story, the characters, the premise of the show.

I like John Amsterdam. His character of course has all the typical "I'm a tough police detective, no body can stand me, and that's just fine because I work best alone." But the jokes are funny, he's nice to look at, and he's believable. The cop story wasn't so interesting and left something to be desired. It was never really explained why the murder victim was having an affair with her ex-boyfriend's father, who is the one who killed her, but we really didn't know why, and then he tries to frame her current boyfriend. Hmm... now that I think of it, I am even more confused. The set up of his back story was somewhat intriguing, but is still a little bland. Hopefully that will be juiced up wwith more episodes. Immortality and tepees aside - I was just glad he wasn't a vampire. I love the jokes, especially the one about his 600 something girlfriends. And when his new partner asked how many wives he's had, he answers "one...at a time". Cute. I hope this is one of my new favorite shows!

First off, I want to say that Patricia Arquette looks fabulous! I don't know if she has lost some weight, has taken better care of herself, had some work done - or all of the above, but she has never looked better. She was beautiful to begin with, but she really looked great this episode. Okay, now to the episode. I wasn't crazy about it. I was pretty unhappy about the whole "eating a guy so the other guys could live" thing. Sure, maybe that could have really happened, but I didn't tune into Medium for it. I don't enjoy feeling like I am going to vomit when I am watching one of my favorite shows. And that is exactly what I felt like when Allison was watching the Senator eat that meat sandwich. I don't mind the occasional severed body parts here and there, but this was just down right disgusting. It was fairly predictable once it was established that the torso found had a connection to the senator and had a major gambling problem. When the group of now professional guys got together and plotted this dudes death, it occurred to me that they really didn't think it over too much. If LaRoche had exposed them for what had happened in Viet Nam, he would have lost his meal ticket. Better to keep paying him off in small amounts till one of the loan sharks offed him for his debts. Then their hands would be clean. But I guess that wouldn't make for very good television. It gets extremely tiresome that Scanlon and Devalos both doubt Allison when she comes to them with these visions. Her track record should be enough to prove to them that she is not just insane. I wish they would take her a little more seriously. Scanlon can be outright rude about it. Okay, I get it. He's a tough cop... whatever. I completely loved the side story of Bridgette, Joe, and the credit card Company employee!

About Me

animalgrace
I am a 33 mother of 4 children aged 13, 10, 8, & 6. I live in Canada, though I am from Oklahoma originally. I have been married to my wonderful husband for 8 years now. I work from my home - be jealous, not everyone can work in their jammies! My favorite colour is purple. I am not afraid of spiders or snakes. I have a reoccurring dream about being in school and I either lost my schedule so I don't know where I'm supposed to be or I have no idea what my locker combination is. My favorite band in the world is Def Leppard. But right now I am really into Switchfoot and My Chemical Romance. The last movie I saw on TV was "Must Love Dogs". I can't sleep with my feet covered up at all. I only like mustard on hot dogs, not hamburgers. I miss my mom. I am addicted to pop - but I try to drink diet and caffeine free.
