When 7th heaven originally hit the airwaves it was a fresh family comedy/drama with soft-core Christian principals. I would never recommend that the show be overly religious since it would not survive on network television in the predominantly secular US viewing audience. That would belong on the now Defunct PAX network or on TBN. However, items such as unwise off-screen decisions by Jessica Biel only manifested themselves in bad scripts and disjointed storylines. In addition, much-ignored Catherine Hicks (a practicing Catholic) discussions with producers over her wearing a crucifix even if concealed under her wardrobe just detracted from the show.

While 7th heaven started out good it seemed that in the past couple of years that it has strayed from its original fresh family comedy/drama faire. This year it has been run off into the ditch of mediocrity of Christian political correctness to a maddening degree. I no longer allow my children to watch it since there are so many bad influences in it that it took a month to finally get the mis-information out of my child’s head. Granted you don’t raise a child on TV but rather it’s a reward. With that being said you don’t want them watching crap either.

There are so many fingers to point as to who did what it’s rather pointless to name names since almost everyone behind the scenes is at fault starting at the top. We’ve missed a few episodes this season and we really haven’t missed anything. Too bad they just don’t end it now and save everyone the pain and suffering of watching the show die and roll over on it’s back like a dead cockroach.

Olmos is right in stating that if you watched the original you shouldn't watch this one. I respect him for his opinion. It's refreshing to hear someone in the industry tell a block of fans what to reasonably expect.

I never thought that anything could be worse than glactica 1980. Well 20+ years and bad writing, character rape and a complete and total bastardization of the original story. It's due to programs like this that I cancelled my subscription to sci-fi. I saw no point to providing them with money to make this kind of trash. Sadly most people don't have the freedom of true al-la-carte programming. If they did Sci-Fi would go under so fast it would make your head spin.
