Sweeney Todd + much, MUCH more!!!

Sweeny Todd

Well i saw Sweeney Todd the other day, it didn't quite live up to the hype i think, but it still was a really good film, Helena Bonham Carter was defianatly the best actor/actress in the film, she did a really good job, Johnny Depp was good too. Some of the songs got very repediative, however the gore was really good. The dullness really suited the film and looked good, however there was one scene in which the colours were really bright and there was a happy mood, this looked really good and was wierd. The gore was suprisingly good considering that it is a mainstream film. There were a lot of British actors that i reconized, including Sacha Baron Cohen, the only comedy in the film, it seemed a little out of place, but i was expecting it when i saw his name in the credits.

Upcoming Releases

Well all movies i'v seen at the cinema this year have been really good, so i have high hopes for the rest of the year. "Run Fatboy, Run" and "Jumper" look pretty decent, they don't look as good as any of the other films iv seen this year, but they are coming out soon. "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" ,"The Dark Knight:, "The Mummy 3", "Pineapple Express", "Saw V" and "The Eye" are something to look out for, personally i love both The Mummy and The Saw series, i love Japanese horror hence "The Eye", and i love Seth Rogan comedies, plus Kristen Bell=Awesome.

School

Oh dang, tomorrow school starts, and like everytime school goes back i rarley blog and don't post anywhere near enough. So that will explain that, ill try to blog as much as possible, but it never seems to happen...BUT ILL TRY!!!

Quote of the Blog

Well i have introdced 2 new segmants in my already super sexy blog. I'm gonna post a quote from either a movie or show, i won't make the film too underground because you will never get it

This weeks is either easy or hard, i don't know

"A$$ to a$$"

Question of the Blog

My other new segmant is I'm gonna ask 1 or 2 questions and i want you to answer them... so enjoy .

Horror or Comedy?

Bangel or Spuffy?

I know, I know, aweosme blog

PS. I just saw Carrie and Poltergiest for the first time, they were both good, I preferd Poltergiest, but i find it laughable that these were at one point scary.

Juno - Cloverfield - Grindhouse

The last 3 films i'v seen have all been ridiculously awesome, i have never had a better run of movies, seriously these are really good. Of course this post will have mild spoilers but ill seperate them into movies, so if you have only seen one, than you can just skip to that movie

Juno

I was expecting a lot from this movie, i went in, and it shattered my expectations. This is what i want for the future of the entertainemnt industry, intelligence. I'm sick of these stupid gross-out/parody comedies that make lots of money. Juno had real emotion, despite it being a comedy. I nearly cried when Juno waddled out of the adoptive parents house to her car after the fight, it was really sad. Seriously peple this is a great film.

Grindhouse

Grindhouse never got releases in theatres in Australia with both films together, however a lesser known theatre is playing it for 1 week only, so i had to see it. Well Planet terror was excellent, the stupidity (on purpose) of the characters, and the amount of blood whenever someone was hit by a car or bullet, it was ridiculously funny. Death Proof wasn't as good, but still a decent film, very comedic, the whole theatre was laughing half the time. The fake trailers were ridiculosuly funny, Simmon Pegg's add was the funniest, Eli Roth is apparantly making his trailer into a movie. These movie are definalty worth the money, expecially since it's 3 hours for 1 admission, we even got an intermission, which is always good for me because i always need to go to the toilet during a movie.

Cloverfield

I saw this yesterday because there were no films left i wan't to se, so i figure JJ Abrams, i might aswell. I didn't even know what it was about, i had only seen the poster. When i went to buy my ticket, the lady asked me if it was alright if it caused motion sickness. This was a bloody awesome film, the best part about it was that i didn't know what it was about, so it was a suprise, it was really Godzilla like, but still it didn't bother me. This again was worth every cent and was genuinly loved every second, i will be watching this again when it'd released on DVD

So everyone, i hope you enjojed my talking and i hope you see/have seen these movies and loved them. I will watch Sweeney Tood next week before school goes back.

Sarah Michelle Gellar is a B***h

OMG, the funniest thing happened yesterday, i was working at my video store (as you do) and some guy comes up to rent Angel season 2, so i was talking to him about it and he loves it and i asked if he has watched Buffy and he said no (but my boss is currently watrching season 7 for the first time, which makes me insanly jealous), and that he doesn't want to because he said he doesn't like SMG, so i asked why not...........

He says, because the is a b***h, and he has worked with her before on Scooby Doo. So I kept asking questions, and he was saying that she was bitter and he joked saying it's probabley because she never eats that she was grumpy, i was kinda shocked and i laughed. The guy was really nice, so i don't think he was just spreading crap.

So people, make what you want of that, and leave HEAPS of comments

My Recent Reviews

8.0 Great
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
The Harvest (2)
Avg Score: 8.71    Total Ratings: 730    Total Reviews: 45
Well The Harvest is surprisingly good considering were the first episode left of, a corny cliffhanger as it is obvious that they are not going to kill of the title character especially in the first episode.

Buffy's necklace cross that Angel gave her got the vamp off her after he touched it. Somehow she wasn't able to defend herself any other way despite being the slayer. She gets to the harvest just in time to stop Cordelia from being bitten, but she wasn't able to stop Jesse, but despite the fact that he has been really good friends with both Xander and Willow for along time they don't seem to grieve his death at all. Buffy kills a bunch of vampires with witty one liners, and they weren't able to complete the ritual, leaving the Master stuck underground. The episode has a lot of good qualities, the end of the episode show that this show has potential which isn't apparent again until the season finale, Xander, Willow, Buffy and even Giles bond becoming friends whilst Cordelia continues to be a b***h.

7.9 Good
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Welcome to the Hellmouth (1)
Avg Score: 8.85    Total Ratings: 889    Total Reviews: 114
I have found very few shows that have a fantastic pilot episode, so it isn't surprising that this episode isn't so great. Although it is one the best episodes of the 1st season, season 1 is my least favourite so that isn't a great achievement.
Buffy moves to Sunnydale after being expelled from her school in LA after burning down the gym which was full of vampires. Buffy wants a fresh start but the new librarian won't let her quit her calling. She meets Xander, Jesse and Willow, but Cordelia the school b***h doesn't approve of her befriending those she considers nerds. Xander overhears her discussing vampires with the Librarian (and watcher) and thinks she is crazy. She confronts her only to discover that Willow has been kidnapped by vampires, so Xander and Buffy walk into a trap of vampires. Buffy is pinned down by a vamp..... to be continued

Well it is a good introduction for the characters, but some corny writing, bad vampire masks and not the best acting from several actors. But a very interesting episode for big Buffy fans landing this a rating of 7.9

More Crap
Avg Score: 8.03    Total Ratings: 364    Total Reviews: 50
Randy takes a big crap and is convinced that it is the biggest ever, so is all his friends, but his wife isn't impressed. He wins an award for the biggest piece of crap, knocking Bono's award winning poo to number 2. Bono is angry and takes a bigger crap because he can't accept losing to Randy, so Randy doesn't crap for weeks and eats plenty to save it up in his bowels. But as it turns out that Bono is a turd, literally. Randy is a very funny, stupid character that should be more of a secondary character, rather than be a feature. If only we had Cartman, because i think he could of saved this episode, but he was left out for some reason that i cannot think of.

Smallville
Fierce
Avg Score: 8.98    Total Ratings: 635    Total Reviews: 43
Lana returns to Smallville and talks to Clark about why she left, and she says that nobody can know she is back until she is cleared of charges for stealing 10 million dollars. She discusses with Lex and she is cleared of the charges. Kara tries to fit in after Clark tells her to, so she enters the Miss Sweet Corn pageant and meets the 2 meteor freak thieves. Jimmy pushes Chloe into writing a story on the meteor freaks after the new chief editor is interested in the strange phenomenons that seem to happen. Clark also teaches Kara to use her abilitys more accurately which pay off when she blows up a piece of Kryptonite to save Clark. Over all a half decent episode if you ignore the meteor freaks as it sets up for the rest of the season as Lana has returned to Smallville, Lex accepts that he has lost her forever, and Lana is becoming more human as she has developed a crush on Jimmy, which spells trouble for the future of Chloe and Jimmy. Unfortunately Lois and Lionel didn't appear in this episode

8.8 Great
My Name Is Earl
The Frank Factor
Avg Score: 8.85    Total Ratings: 141    Total Reviews: 7
After Joy visits Earl in prison, they bump into another inmate, Frank. This leads to a great flashback episode where we learn how Earl and Randy get kicked out of their house and move into the trailer with Frank and Catalina's Mexican boyfriend. Joy is kicked out of her house too for being pregnant and moves into the hotel and is determined to find a sugar daddy. Darnell (Harry) is in witness protection school to become a new person and shaves off his finger prints. Catalina fights to move to America. Earl, Frank and Randy plan to rob an Indian casino, but Earl gets really drunk and gets married to Joy instead, and Randy gets distracted by the TV and forgets to go to the casino. Frank crashes into the FBI van that dumped Darnell in Camden and they get arrested and are sentenced to gaol for 20 years, so now Joy doesn't feel bad about Earl taking her place gaol as by getting him and drunk and getting married to him she saved him 18 years and feels like Earl owes her. So it was a very good episode that linked the flashbacks together
