Schindler's List

I know I`m extremely late. Bought the Dvd only yesterday but was still not really in eager to watch it, that black and white stuff kinda make me feel off and thought I would not like it. But on Anbis` recommendation, I watched it and hell HOW WRONG WAS I ABOUT THIS MOVIE. It`s not only excellent but now simply on the top of my all time favorite movies list...a masterpiece from beginning to end.
The black and white effect is a genius strike, brings so much effect and realism to the movie. The story is intense, captivating, very emotional (yes Anke, I cried too ) , with so much energy and more importantly, it was based on real fact . Schindler is an absolute legend.

The acting, writing and directing is simply amazing. Definitely my all time fave movie now.

And....

I`ve also rewatched the Downfall (Untergang, Der ) on the way, and I don`t know to what extend this movie is accurate but find it very insightfull and it`s still one of my fave. Bruno Ganz, hats off!! Probably the best acting performance I`ve seen in a movie. (Following pic is to scare off Anbis )

4.V For Vendetta. (The movie with the richest dialogues I`ve seen)

I`ve always been passionated with everything related to war (don`t ask why), specially World Wars. My all time favorite movies would be Saving Private Ryan and Downfall, two pure masterpieces. Besides Tom Hanks is one of my all time favorite actor. So when Hanks and Spielberg join to make a mini series about World War 2, I`m in. I can`t believe I`ve missed that for so long. Finally got to see it and I`m fully satisfied.

The pilot was pretty boring but when things took off, it was great. It`s very realistic but we can easily get lost in the plot as it can get very ambigous. There`s some memorable moments but 3 of them striked me the most:

1. Bastogne

Limited ammos, short of food, literally no medical supplies , surrounded and all this in terrible weather conditions..they still stood up and survived...that`s courage.

2. Concentration camps.

The most distubing thing I`ve seen in my freaking life. I was left speechless...I`ve cried. To even imagine that this really happened, it makes me shivers and gives me goosebumps big time.

3. The final speech

Not so memorable for most probably. But the final speech of the German officer to his men as the war ends really striked me. What he said about war and the special bond of soldiers is so true...This is exactly the same speech Easy company`s leader would give to his men...this for me exposes the sad reality of war. No matter what, there is no bad or good sides. The soldiers do what they have to do. Two men of different sides could be best friends under different circumtances. Different armies but soldiers all the same. (Stole that one from Prison Break )

Many of these heroes (from both sides) are still alive, I would love to the shake the hand of one of them one day.

In other news...The love story between Liverppol and the Champions league continues. Inter out! 4 english teams in the quarters.... We can still save our season in ****..come on mighty reds!!

Finally I`ve got to watch Rambo 4 and it`s bloody brutal!

This is exactly what I expected! Brutal,gruesome , violent, nearly gore...it was awesome. Got to be THE best action movie I`ve seen in years.

Sylvester Stallone has never been so kickass! The movie game me chills...seriously.

Julie Benz (who plays the lovely Rita in Dexter) featured in the movie. Her position in the above picture remained the same for most of the movie.

One advice: Don`t f*ck with Rambo.

Stallone is impressive. At 60, doing such a movie...respect!

So definitly what i expect, an raw action movie that are so rare now. The story was simple, nothing mind blowing as one would expect but the action was top **** He kills! That what he is!!

Epic Stuff.

I was quite dissapointed with last week`s eggtown. But the one whose mind did not get completely blown away by this episode (Constant)...well they just didn`t understand a thing. At the very start of the episode, I had a cup of tea in the hand, I was about to drink it.....I end up drinking it some 15 minutes after the episode Anyone who are rating this episode less than 9, I respect your opinion but hell...you`ve got a problem and you are simply impossible to please. And yeah, little of Jack, no Kate, none of that ANNOYING love triangle, just the most believable Lost love story: Desmond and Penny.

WOW! The complexity and geniality of this episode is hard to describe.
It`s a Desmond centric. Desmond`s episodes are always so mind blowing but this one: WOW. This is my favorite all time lost episode, even better than Through the looking glass.
Time traveling, this is just brilliant and the way this was executed was so perfect. The momentum and intensity of the episode was overwhelming. The "constant idea" was amazing. Nothing big happened on the island but who cares LOL. Looks like Dan also have the problem and his constant will now be Desmond.
Also, looks like someone on the boat helped Sayid and Desmond.... clearly, Ben`s spy. I think (just a thoery) it`s Michael. And yeah, little of Jack, no Kate, none of that ANNOYING love triangle, just the most believable Lost love story: Desmond and Penny. So, that was an Epic episode...time traveling is even more exciting that flash forward.

I also like the Mr Widmore-Black Rock reference...with Lost, it can always lead to some crazy things.

End of Spoiler Alert

Last week was a kinda letdown but this week was The best Lost episode IMO.
