October 27-Have a good week

Just a fun joke to enjoy your week.

Italian Boy's Confession.....

"Bless me Father, for I have sinned. I have been with a loose woman."

The priest asks, "Is that you, little Johnny Parisi?"

"Yes, Father, it is."

"And who was the woman you were with?"

"I can't tell you, Father, I don't want to ruin her reputation."

"Well, Johnny, I'm sure to find out her name sooner or later, so you may
as well tell me now. Was it Tina Minetti?"

"I cannot say."

"Was it Teresa Volpe?"

"I'll never tell."

"Was it Nina Capelli?"

"I'm sorry, but I cannot name her."

"Was it Cathy Piriano?"

"My lips are sealed."

"Was it Rosa Di Angelo, then?"

"Please, Father, I cannot tell you."

The priest sighs in frustration. "You're very tight lipped, Johnny Parisi,
and I admire that. But you've sinned and have to atone. You cannot be an
altar boy now for 4months. Now you go and behave yourself."

Johnny walks back to his pew, and his friend Nino slides over and
whispers, "What'd you get?"

"Four months vacation and five good leads

Have a good week

Hi, I will be only home on the weekends because I have weekly business trips out of the area. I will check my que at that time and try very hard to start doing weekly blogs to get back in touch with all of you. As was my old tradition, I will try hard to find fun things to share with you all and here it goes:

16 THINGS THAT IT TOOK ME OVER 50 YEARS TO LEARN:
by Dave Barry, Nationally Syndicated Columnist

1. Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.

2. If you had to identify, in one word, the reason why the human race has not achieved and never will achieve its full potential, that word would be "meetings."

3. There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."

4. People who want to share their religious views with you almost never want you to share yours with them.

5. You should not confuse your career with your life.

6. Nobody cares if you can't dance well. Just get up and dance.

7. Never lick a steak knife.

8. The most destructive force in the universe is gossip.

9. You will never find anybody who can give you a clear and compelling reason why we observe daylight savings time.

10. You should never say anything to a woman that even remotely suggests that you think she's pregnant unless you can see an actual baby emerging from her at that moment.

11. There comes a time when you should stop expecting other people to make a big deal about your birthday. That time is age eleven.

12. The one thing that unites all human beings, regardless of age, gender, religion, economic status or ethnic background, is that, deep down inside, we ALL believe that we are above-average drivers.

13. A person who is nice to you but rude to a waiter is not a nice person (This is very important. Pay attention. It never fails.)

14. Your friends love you anyway.

15. Never be afraid to try something new. Remember that a lone amateur built the Ark. A large group of professionals built the Titanic.

16. Men are like fine wine. They start out as grapes, and it's up to the women to stomp the crap out of them until they turn in t o some thing acceptable to have dinner with.

Have a wonderful week,

Ann

Back

I have been coming on line several times a week to check on my queue and make sure I was not an absent editor. I do occasionally have time to read a few of your blogs. I would love to have some let me know what I have missed over the last many months.

I have always felt that if I was in too difficult a space to be positive on line, I needed to keep things off the internet and get my support in other places.

Every time I thought things had turned a corner, something bad happened again. It has been one of the hardest years of my life both personally and medically. The medical things, I can share. The personal ones I will remain fairly quiet. It is not that I did not trust you all. It is not that I did not need your support. It is that this is too public of a forum to voice all the issues.

Medically last February I woke up one morning and the material in front of my left retina had detached. All medical interventions for the last 8 months have not been successful. The eye corrected is not able to pass a driving test. I do have a good team of Doctors attempting interventions to save as much vision as possible. It is legal to drive with one good eye.

March came and more medical issues developed. My mammogram came back with abnormal findings. This situation has still not been resolved but I do have a good team of doctors at Stanford.

I wish I had the support of a loving husband but my husband has decided that he needs to be free and single. I have gone through the medical issues without his support. I can not in this forum say more about this topic.

So, I came on line today to find 40+ submissions in my que by one person. All of them poorly written. I revised a few and accepted them..... them check the person's profile and saw a level 7 and more rejections than acceptance. I wrote notes on many rejects stating why I needed to reject them. Gosh, it too me two hours. Usually with my guides, I have few 1 to 5 submissions. Usually, well written and appropriate. What a mess! I know it is not a normal situation because since I have been on line I have never had that many poorly written items. I know others who have more popular guides do get this problem.

I have missed all of you. I do think of you often. Have a good day.

Oh, you all need a joke right?

Believe it or not this is a real 911 call....

Dispatcher: 9-1-1 what is the your emergency?

Caller: I heard what a sounded like gunshots coming from the brown house on the corner.

Dispatcher: Do you have an address?

Caller: No, I have on a blouse and slacks, why?

Your friend,

Ann

Why?

Why?

Do we press harder on a remote control when we know the batteries are almost dead?

Why do banks charge a fee on "insufficient funds" when they know there is not enough money?

Why does someone believe you when you say there are four billion stars, but check when you say the paint is wet?

Why doesn't glue stick to the bottle?

Why do they use sterilized needles for death by lethal injection?

Why doesn't Tarzan have a beard?

Why does Superman stop bullets with his chest, but ducks when you throw a revolver at him?

Why do Kamikaze pilots wear helmets?

Whose idea was it to put an "S" in the word "lisp"?

If people evolved from apes, why are there still apes?

Why is it that no matter what color bubble bath you use the bubbles are always white?

Is there ever a day that mattresses are not on sale?

Why do people constantly return to the refrigerator with hopes that something new to eat will have materialized?

Why do people keep running over a string a dozen times with their
vacuum cleaner, then reach down, pick it up, examine it, then put it down to give the vacuum one more chance?

Why is it that no plastic bag will open from the end on your first try?

How do those dead bugs get into those enclosed light fixtures?

When we are in the supermarket and someone rams our ankle with a
shopping cart then apologizes for doing so, why do we say, "It's all right?" Well, it isn't all right, so why don't we say, "That hurt, you idiot?"

Why is it that whenever you attempt to catch something that's falling off the table you always manage to knock something else over?

In winter why do we try to keep the house as warm as it was in summer when we complained about the heat?

How come you never hear father-in-law jokes?

And my FAVORITE......The statistics on sanity are that one out of every four persons is suffering from some sort of mental illness. Think of your three best friends -- if they're okay, then it's you.

I've done my job,

Ann

Sorry

Personal issues are going to limit blogs for awhile.  This is not the place for me to vent what is happening and I am too sad to try and be up beat.  As I heal, I will recoop my natureal abilities to be happy and up.  Until then this will be my last blog.  I will check my queue frequently.

Sincerely I am sorry that I can not take all that is given to me and stay up beat.  Ann

My Recent Reviews

9.2 Superb
The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr.
Socrates' Sister
Avg Score: 8.45    Total Ratings: 32    Total Reviews: 2
I love this episode because it shows another side to Socrates Poole. You meet his sister and find out that they were dirt poor growing up. They mother was instruct mental in them both becoming lawyers. She use to read to them the classics as children. In this episode Socrates’ sister has fallen in love through letters with a criminal. She breaks him out of prison and escapes with him only to find out that he has used her. He breaks her heart and leaves her on the road. Brisco goes after her and the criminal. Socrates gets a wagon and horse to go after her but he can not leave the comforts of home during his case. Now that the conflict is set up, we get our usually entertaining aspects of the show. As usual, Brisco gets tied up with the girl and they are about to die. The cliff hanger is great because it has so many elements of science. They are tied up with leather than has been wet and with the heat of the sun is tightening. The leather has been rugged to a gun pointed at them. When the leather gets tight enough the gun goes off. Not to worry Brisco finds a way out of it. What show is without a crazy invention from our professor? He has invented a driving suit. One of the criminals goes driving for US treasurer plates. In the end the criminals are caught. The US Treasurer thinks that Socrates' sister has master minded the recovery of the plates. Brisco makes sure the girl goes free. The episode has all the classic elements of a western action, science fiction, melodrama and humor. Oh, of course Briso gets to kiss a pretty girl. And by the way, Scorates' nick name is bunny.

9.4 Superb
The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr.
Pilot (2 hrs)
Avg Score: 9.01    Total Ratings: 41    Total Reviews: 6
This is an interesting show in that it combines elements for a western, melodrama, science friction, and humor. The characters are wonderfully three dimensional. They have faults, weakness, with strengths. The show has wonderful cliff hangers with clever writing to resolve the cliff hanger. The pilot is an excellent example of the show. Brisco County Junior enters the picture because his father has been killed. His father was a law man and Brisco does not want to revenge his father's death, he wants to complete his father's task. You meet a young man that is full of determination and conviction. Schooled as a lawyer from Harvard, he is back to being a cowboy because it suits him better. He is a paradox which makes him entertaining. The writers enjoy this type of character with many sides. Socrates Poole in the pilot appears to be a two dimensional character. Wait as the series progresses, you will see his character develop and see the many sides of him. There is the funniest cliff hanger when Brisco is having an old fashion gunfight with one of John Bly's gang. As they take their positions for the gunfight. Three other men of Bly's gang aim their guns at Brisco. It looks for sure like there is no way for our hero to live through this situation. As the guns are about to fire, Brisco hits the ground and they all shoot each other. You can not stop laughing at the brilliant writing to allow our hero to survive. Look in each episode and you will find all the elements you see in the pilot. It is science friction with the orb and its magic. There are crazy inventions from the crazy professor that save the day. It reminds you of back to the future. It has western action with horses, shoot outs, and gun fights. There is melodrama with our hero always getting tied up and in a jam. He always seems to find a damsel to save. He almost gets run over by trains. He is almost hung. The melodrama includes the humors lines. It is an outstanding show that only lasted one session.

8.9 Great
Tru Calling
Morning After
Avg Score: 8.78    Total Ratings: 112    Total Reviews: 2
This is a classical for "Tru Calling." It has a wonderful mixture of a serious A plot with a humors B Plot. The episode starts with the return of Tru's ex-boyfriend. Tru has left him early in the season because he was cheating on her. In the morning Tru gets a call from Mark saying that he wants her back in his life. He lets her know he is sorry for what he has done to her. He arranges to "bump" into her at a store and gets himself invited to the party she is having that evening. At her party, Mark wants to talk with her on the roof. She makes it clear that it is over between them. The next morning Tru wakes up and find Mark dead on her bed. Mark says those magic words, "Help me." The day re-winds. Tru's team turns into action trying to discover how Mark died. Tru is wondering if she may have killed him. The re-wind as usually helps Harrison with his relationship with Lindsay. Harrison is able to correct his errors and scores good points with Lindsay. Re-wind days always seem to go badly Luc and Tru. This re-wind is no different. Tru decides to lie to Luc about what is happening. The makes the two of them drift further away from each other. He is growing impatient with her moods and disappearances. In the end, Mark is saved. Harrison has gotten closer to Lindsay. Tru's personal life has suffered because of her calling. There are also some great humourous moments in this episode. The B plot with Harrison trying to re-do the day the right way this time. Davis helping Tru and finding out she had a party without inviting him. The classic elements of this series are in this episode. The show is a great blend of humour and drama.

8.7 Great
Tru Calling
Star Crossed
Avg Score: 8.82    Total Ratings: 115    Total Reviews: 4
Everything is in play for this episode. Tru has her team and they work like a well oiled machine. They are in the middle of a Shakespeare play. They have what first appears to be an easy case save Romeo and Juliet. Well, after much investigation Tru learns that the plot changes to let's save two strangers. They looked like Romeo and Juliet but there were not in love or even liked each other. There was a drag race. The rider in each car is from the competing team. Okay, save the strangers but with more investigation the plot thickens again. Romeo was dating a girl that was in love with Juliet. Let's save Juliet for her Juliet. More twists and turns than a Shakespeare comedy or will it be a tragedy. The well oiled machine does come through in the end and save Romeo who has no Juliet and save both Juliets. Now if you understand that, you do not need to see the episode. Otherwise, enjoy it because it was entertaining and Tru calling at its best.

In this episode Tru is asked for help by a medical student that appears to have taken an overdose. The problem with the episode is that it is the same story at "Flatliners" and only has an hour to tell the story and include the Tru Calling aspects to the story. If the episode had not followed the plot line for a story, I would have said it was well written and the characters developed and grew in this episode. I liked the film and can not help but compare it to this episode. The important development in this episode is that Davis lets Tru know that he knows that she re-winds days. He calls it a calling.
