Yes, still here!!!!
Hello to everybody, sorry if you felt I left you (oyu ain't that lucky yet), the reason of my absence was due to an oportunity at going back to full time on my job, but it meant to go a litttle bit further branch of my company, so far so good and hopely thing will start to look up.
The secon reason it was more due to lazyness, and to the fact that since a lot of shows have finished their seasons, I'm watching more movies and reading books, and actually going to the movie theaters a lot more (you can check my stuff on Movietome) and of course taking care of my family (I just Love those little rascals of mine) and anoiding hang overs by staying drunk...Just Kidding, some.
Well anyway, I just wanted to say hi! and soon I will catch up with some missing reviews (Fear Itself it's one on my to do list) and get back to the vice of the tube.
Cheers!!

Smallville Rant
Warning: Like a previous rant, this pretty much a copy/paste part of a review.... I just did it again because i feel the need to rant it more...You were warned....
...From my "Descent" episode of Smallville's review...
Finally we see the setting of thing to come, namely Clark and Lex being mortal enemies.... In case anybody forgot... Clark and Lex aren't mortal enemies: It's SUPERMAN and Lex... and YES!! There's a Difference!!!
Lex Luthor always tries to kill or submit Superman, but Clark Kent is not more that a reporter to him, a nosy one, but not as much as Louis Lane and not so dangerous, if Clark were his enemy (or knew that Superman was in fact, him) he would have Clark killed or used his loved ones against him, as he has done against Superman....
Besides the fact that the series has taking too much years out of the Superman mistery, and that pretty much every single person in Superman's future is already shown on the show, it's beyond me how are we supossed to believe that NOBODY (specially Lex and Louis) will conect the dots between Superman and Clark Kent, since he won't change that much in whatever years the show's creator are going to set for the mandatory absence of Clark's before Superman's first appearance, it will take more than a fancy new haircut and glasses (not to mention he pretty much just wears RED and BLUE all the time) to fool those who were and will be so close to the Man of Steel...
Now, I know it would seem I am a hater of the show, many I set the record straight... I am not, but I'm more fan of the tru Superman Legacy, thus I have try to forgive the obvious mistakes of the series for the fun of it, but since the series has been too long on the air and we know the ideas arent flowing that good anymore, and good nice series conclusion should be on the horizon soon, before it get Cancelled due to lack of viewer's interest and thus giving it a mediocre ending (if not a sudden one) to a series that brought us a legendary icon back on the television....
Done!!!

Lost marathon update
Hello again, I just finished the first season of "Lost", grat series, I indeed was missing out, too many questions, so many episodes, too little time, I still am NOT reading any spoilers, so I gotta find out how things turn out eventually.
I totally get why Staephen King was so pleased with this series, they way the episodes unfold, with the flashback sequences to explaing the characters back-ground aare pretty similar to the way he writes the big books, (It, The Stand, Desperation, not to mention the Dark Tower), and know we know that the tream behind "Lost" are actually going to take a try to the "Dark Tower" books (God Bless ya boys, and good luck with that....that's pretty much a tall order), but for the life of m, as far i go I can't tell why so many people (in chat rooms and websites posts, mostly) compare the series or make references to the Dark Tower, I guess it's hard to understand without the spoilers being lid out, so I'll have to wait...

specially the "Make some wrongs to make a right" thing, and it was even worse if you have in mind the timing where it was said. Erick Roberts partner was very unconvincing and also the gun plot lead to a conclusion far too convenient and in fact felt too rushed, like written at the last minute.
They were a lot of elements that could have supplied with a much better plot, and better pacing:
1- A haunted "living murdering house"
2- Satanic Rituals.
3- A Vengeful Ghost
4- A denied guilt in seek for redemption in a very wrong way.
5.-The possibility of a masked psychopathy.
All them where there but mixed so unevenly that in the end none provided to a satisfactory conclusion..
...But that's just my thoughts, see and judge for yourself...

Fear Itself The Sacrifice Avg Score: 8.01 Total Ratings: 132 Total Reviews: 9 |
The Plot; An isolated community holds a monster prisoner, at the cost of cutting off all contact with the outside world, only letting people in to feed said monster.
The Good; There was the use of the old Vampiric Folklore, remedies and countermeasures, something we don't see in most films today, and the suspense was well built.
The Bad: The villagers claim that they have tried and failed for years to destroy the monster (a Vampire)but in the end with the outsiders, they manage to destroy it by doing nothing special (torching the place)something that could have done very easily on THE DAY In Plain Daylight. The ending was proper and creepy and it saved the episode for going to hell (no pun intended)but somehow overall the episode lacked the strength for a solid series opener...

The plot has been done before (the last incarnation of the Twilight Zone had an episode similar) but these time I really felt bad for the main character, you know from the beginning things are going to end bad, and they did.
The twist at the end saved the episode and although it was predictable, it had been built up to an inevitable conclusion that will leave even the more cynic with a eerie feeling.

Let's do my typical quick recap!!!
The survivors try to get to the boat... Surprised G.I. Jerk got it rigged with C-4 all the way!! Desmond, Jin and Michael try to deactive it, but you know better than that!
Ever since we meet "the others" they wee despicted as savages and pretty much mean bad-asses, I was dissapointed when I learn that they were actually cientifics in disguise, this time we see that the can kick military ass!, Sayid?..not so much, although he did hold his ground ...for a couple of minutes...I still thinks he's cool. Ben gets rescued and in turn Kate and company are let go...
Lockes goes to a "new" where he's supposed to move the Island, He tries to convince Jack to Stay in the Island, but then again, we know better than that... Cool dialog, though.
Daniel continues to take survivors to the Carrier, but we get the hint that Charlotte has already been in the Island before.. huh? Season 5 Subplot!!!
Back in the station Ben kills the last soldier who was try to capture, locke yells at him because Ben knew that the soldier's death would trigger the C-4 in the Ship, Ben's response...So?? Cool bastard!!!
So Jack, Kate,Hugo,Desmond,Sawyer,Sayid and Lupis fly off to the carrier, but when they discover that the chopper is leaking fuel due a hole mad by a bullet during Ben's rescue, Sawyer takes a plunge...literally, not before asking Kate for a favor and one last frechie in the process... So the remainig fuel last long enough for the rest to reach the ship.
And now some FlashFoward!!!
Back in the future, Sayid goes fetch Hugo from the nut house, we see him playing chess by himself, but before leaving the premises, he says "Check Mate, Mr.Eko".
Kate sees Claire and yells at her that she must not take Aaron back to the island.
Now back to the present...or something...
Locke gets out of the station and is told to meet "the Others" in order to be their leader, finally a smile in my fav old man... The C-4's time bomb it's runnnig, the chopper lands and after a real QUICK catching up, repairs and refuel the group takes flight again, Michael tells Jin to go to Sun, who is in the chopper with Aaron, but they have to go and Jin can't make it, cue Celine Dion... oh, sorry wrong scenario..!
Before the whole thing goes off, we see Michael having a vision and being told he can go now, redemption stuff I guess, cool.
Sawyer gets to the island and there he learn the doom of the ship, unknowing that Kate was not there anymore...
Ben goes deep into a Ice Fortress (not THAT Ice Fortress) and after turning some wheels, we see a bright flash, just like the one's when Desmond saved the world seasons ago, but this time....The Island it's no more....
The chopper crashes anyway but is rescued by Penny who had tracked the phone call made by Desmond, seems like at least for now Desmond gets a happy ending (take that, you Desmond Haters!!!!) And after some deliberation, the group agress to get lie about the whole plane crash and stuff to protect the ones in the island...wherever they are... and get to another island in order to be "found" again, minus Desmond and Lupis who will go deep underground...
And now for the Cliffhanger!!!
Flashfoward; Jack's it's at the mistery Funeral, and Ben's there we learn that Jack's visitor told him that aince they left the ones in the island suffered some horrible fate and because of Jack's fault, the visitor turns out to be no other that Locke...Who now it's in the casket...
Now that's a season Finale!!!!

I have watch only like 3 episodes total (not for lack of interest mind you,)but clearly I was missing out, just like "lost", it seems Iīll have to do some catching up, the characters are very well written, I canīt say for sure how acurate the demons mithology itīs used but it well presented and interesting...
The homage to "The Twilight Zone" episode was a real kicker for me (one of my favorite series) but the demonic approach was really cool, and I canīt wait to see what happens next...
...Hereīs a new fan.
