First Person Editorship

Yeah, that's right. I just earned my very first person editorship. This first guide would be for Peter Charles Archibald Ewart Jennings (or just simply Peter Jennings). If you don't know who this man was, he was the senior editor and head anchor of ABC's World News Tonight from 1983 until 2005. He died from complications with lung cancer on August 7th, 2005.

And of course here is the new emblem:

When I came across Peter's guide and saw that it didn't have an editor, I immediately jumped for the chance. You see, this man was sort of a childhood hero for me. I would sit down and watch him report the world news at seven every evening. It really is an honor for me to be the editor for this great man. Please feel free to submit to the guide whenever you want.

QUESTION TO ANSWER: What are your thoughts on Peter Jennings?

The Trimonthly Blog

Yeah, I guess it's about time to do a blog again. I mean it's only been three months since my last one...

One year since...

It's been exactly a year since I posted my first blog. It was the afternoon of January 24th, 2007 when I just felt like writing one for the hell of it, even though I knew no one would read it. I'll tell you, the past year has been an amazing one on this site to say the least. And to be honest, I can't believe it's only been a year. It seems like a lifetime ago since I started doing things around here. I gained the Kim Possible editorship position about ten months ago, and I still keep a very close eye on everything around there. For the start of the second active year on here, I'm thinking about going to find another popular show guide to go after since Kim Possible has long since ended. Who knows what the future will bring...

6000 CPs

I set the six thousand CP's milestone for the Kim Possible guide this past week. Yes, the show has been over for four months, but I still find stuff to contribute to the guide. By the looks of it, I'm going to be the editor forever (or at least until I retire). But honestly, that is the farthest thing from my mind. I love that guide.

Snow... in Georgia?

What's been up with the weather around here? Here in northern Georgia we have endured three different winter weather events within the past few weeks. I like this area because of the lack snow in the winter. I mean I'm all for cold weather (I live for it in fact), but I can't stand snow or ice. It's just a nuisance. I don't understand how you people up north can bear it for several months every single winter.

It just isn't the same

What has this site turned to? I know I don't post blogs anymore, but I'm still here a good twenty times every single day. It seems like the previous TV.com that I was a part of last summer is all but gone. Just about everyone that I remember has long since left this place. The community has just fallen to a bunch of younger members that shouldn't even be here (if you look at the ToS).

Just to catch up...

Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year...

Yeah, you get the point.

QUESTION TO ANSWER: About how long has it been since you posted your first blog?

Remember Me?

Yeah, sorry about the whole 'no blog in two months' thing. I've been really busy with just everyday life. Regardless of being busy, nothing really worth pointing out on here has happened (thus no blogs). So, to prove to you guys that I didn't fall off a cliff, I'll just post a fun blog.

Well, I came across a few funny quotations today. I'm sure some of you have heard of these before. Anyways, here goes.

Tonight is the Night

The Finale Airs Tonight:

That's right, the grand finale of Kim Possible will air in the matter of hours from the time I posted this. While the finale has already been shown in New Zealand, on Disney on Demand, and on Youtube, I have chosen not to watch it. I want this episode to be the best it can be. I just can't believe the show I have put so much work into is finally ending. It's sorta sad.

My Forum:

Wow, my forum has been exploding over the past week or so since I posted the finale discussion thread. Every time I get on here there are like twenty new posts. I guess there were more fans on here than I thought. I'm just not trying to think about how the forum will be dead in a matter of months.

Ended:

Tonight I am going to have to make a submission that I have dreaded for the longest time. I am going to have to switch the status of my guide from "Returning Series" to "Ended". It certainly has been a long path to this point.

Alright, I'm done ranting.

QUESTION TO ANSWER: Do you plan to watch the finale of Kim Possible at any point?

GOALS UPDATE:

1) Reach 5000 Submissions (+2590)
2) Get to Level 35 (Achieved)
3) Post 75 Blogs (+19)

Strange Phobias

I have recently come across a site that lists hundreds of strange phobias (cleverly named phobialist.com), and some of them gave me quite a laugh. So, I'm gonna stray away from my usual blogs, and just list some funny ones that I found.

Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia- Fear of long words.
Aphenphosmphobia- Fear of being touched.
Arachibutyrophobia- Fear of peanut butter sticking to roof of mouth.
Aulophobia- Fear of flutes.
Chrometophobia- Fear of money.
Cibophobia- Fear of food.
Dipsophobia- Fear of drinking.
Ecophobia- Fear of home.
Geliophobia- Fear of laughter.
Kathisophobia- Fear of sitting down.
Metallophobia- Fear of metal.
Nomatophobia- Fear of names.
Optophobia- Fear of opening one's eyes.
Phengophobia- Fear of daylight or sunshine.
Phobophobia- Fear of fears.
Phronemophobia- Fear of thinking.
Technophobia- Fear of technology.
Verbophobia- Fear of words.

And finally... Zemmiphobia- Fear of the mole rat.

QUESTION TO ANSWER: Do you consider yourself any of these?

I actually would be a bit phengophobic.

To me, this man was much more than just a news broadcaster. He was in fact a personal hero of mine. Throughout my childhood I remember sitting down at seven every night and watching the entirety of his broadcasts. He always put a smile on my face with his style of reporting. Without him, I surely wouldn't be as aware of the issues going on in today's world as I am. I really wish I could have gotten the chance to thank him for everything he has done for me. I remember the night when he announced he had lung cancer. I was truly speechless as he spoke in his crackled voice. And obviously, I was devestated when he died from his cancer a few months later. I will always remember World News Tonight as the show that Peter broadcasted each and every weeknight for over twenty years. He truly was a great man that will surely be missed.

Let me begin by saying that this definitely was one of the better episodes of this, the last season of Kim Possible. There was plenty of action throughout the entire episode, which, with this season, was somewhat of a surprise to be honest. The episode began right off with a battle with Killigan, and quickly shifted to the revealing of the Homecoming Court and the ensuing fallout. The pivotal part of the episode would beyond a doubt be when Bonnie kissed Ron. The way Kim handled this moment was one of the most forgettable moments in this terrible season. She just went along with it like it was just an everyday occurance. Kim just going along with Bonnie's break down (or anything for that matter)? Can you say OOC? The four of them (Ron, Kim, Bonnie, and Wade) each worked throughout the rest of the episode to find Rotiffle, a missing computer scientist, and find Bonnie a new boyfriend. First of all, why the hell should any of them help her out after all she has done to them? What has she ever done for you? And of course there was the ending of this episode. Bonnie finds her 'true love', and lives happily ever after (until she gets summer school in the finale anyway). What kind of message is this showing kids? You can steal someone's boyfriend and still get it all your way? Granted Kim beating the living snot out of Bonnie isn't exactly the right message for kids either, but that sure would have made this episode more entertaining. Eh, what do I know?

Overall I'd give this one a seven out of ten.

Yes, my summary says it all. So far, this episode has to be my favorite from season four. The whole "dark" theme of this episode was very uncharacteristic of a Kim Possible episode, but the producers somehow pulled it off. I liked every plotline of the episode, especially the one where Kim and Ron played detective in trying to find out about Hana's history. The fact that Kim and Ron had to save every single artifact in that museum sorta annoyed me, but they're heroes, aren't they? I guess that comes with the job. I have to admit that seeing Hana again was nice. While I don't particularly care for babies that much, she pulls it off. The fact that she makes jokes sometimes makes her okay by me. And then there was the climatic battle at the ninja school. The fact that Kim, Yori, and Rufus were defeated so easily sorta gave me the feeling that they were rushing things. That opened the door for Ron and Hana to save the day. When several of the main characters were turned to stone, you just can't help but know that they would be alright. I mean what's Kim Possible without Kim Possible? The way Ron reacted to Kim being turned into stone was the obvious reaction for anyone in his position. Kudos to the writers for realizing that. The main thing that ticked me off in this one was how easily Yono the Destroyer gave up. Hana was just dodging his zaps, why should he give up? I just don't understand that one. And I have to admit that seeing Monkey Fist defeated for what seems to be last time excited me. I have never been a fan of Monkey Fist, but still, having him go down in such a major fashion was nice to see. To amp it up even more, maybe they could have shown a close up of his face when he was going into the ground as though that was his official "good bye". Well, the series is coming to an end, and I couldn't think of a better episode to do that. Sure there are a few more, but I doubt anything (except the finale itself) will match up to this one.

I thought this episode was terrible. I mean really. It is borderline Grande Size Me. The villain is really dumb, and his math-based puns were really stupid. Everything he said was a badly written math joke. The whole villain side of the plot was terribly written, and badly planned out by the writers. The other side of the story involved Kim and Ron writing a paper on one of their heroes. Let me just say that seeing Mr. Stoppable in a cape is not why I watch this show. Ron making everything explode when he touches it was really dumb. Besides, he was in a containment bubble the whole time, so hardly anything really exploded. That plot line could have really been explored more if given a chance. Finally, I thought the whole episode was badly rushed, and nothing really was developed as far as it should have been. I did like one thing in this episode: the closing tag. Barkin's joke in it was hilarious.

I thought this episode was actually pretty good, however, it is definitely not one of my favorites. The two major plot lines of the episode were interesting, especially the Senior class's sudden change in lifestyles. The way that area was explored was comical to say the least. Kim, Ron, and Bonnie struggling with their jobs is a natural reaction for most people going through what they were, but the writers went the extra mile and made it hilarious (ex: Bonnie and the chickens). I also liked how the whole yacht in the old town thing was played out. Ron was desperate the entire episode for any sort of reminders of the modern world, but he kept on getting them taken away with"point reductions". Barkin's father in the story was certainly unexpected, and he was funny from the start. I just wonder how the Mr. Barkin ended up a high school sub/Smarty Mart employee in the "modern world". The other side of the story dealing with Drakken was not as entertaining as the other plot line. Drakken's pirate side was not in the least funny, and his tactics were weird. Additionally, this side of the story was certainly not as developed as it should have been. Things went along too quickly to get a good sense of what was happening there. Finally factoring into my final vote is my lack of interest in the old times. That's about all I've got for this one.
