Happy New Year, everyone!
I haven't written anything much recently, 'cause I guess there's just not that much to say. But tomorrow, I should be on level 30, 'cause I made a bunch of submissions tonight for one of my shows. I guess I was a little behind in keeping up with it, but since it's a daily show, it's kind of hard, what with the rest of life going on!
So I hope everyone had a good year, and has a great 2008!

I finally made enough submissions to become editor for Seamus O'Regan! He's the host of Canada AM (well, one of them
) and has also had a guest spot on the season 4 finale of Corner Gas, playing himself/Wanda's love interest. I just made my submissions today, so by tomorrow morning, Shamey (Seamy?) should be showing up on my list of people that I edit.

Wow, I don't think I was even in Level 24 yesterday! I guess they hadn't done a level update for a while, because I shot up a lot!
Not too much else is new around here... there's lots of season ender chats going on, but I don't think that I'm going to be able to make them, cause I just won't be home or near a computer when they're happening. Too bad, I like getting new emblems!

Wow, that month went by fast... where did the time go? I guess that life just happens, but there's nothing really worth telling there, either, so can that really be the reason?
I've been watching The Amazing Race, and last Sunday's episode was a great one! Wow! Eric and Danielle got pulled off the plane, Mirna and Charla shot out into the lead, and in the end, it was Team Guido vs Terry & Ian. One thing that I'm wondering is this... are Mirna and Charla now ~TWO DAYS~ ahead of Team Guido? How on earth are they going to level that playing field?
And what the heck has happened to Studio 60? Is it ever coming back? I looked at the guide, and there's one more episode listed there, but no airdate for it. I know that a lot of shows went on hiatus after the February sweeps, but this is ridiculous! CTV is showing Nip/Tuck in the Studio 60 spot, and the American channel is showing The Black Donnelleys on Mondays. That's a whole new show... what are they going to put Studio 60 when it comes back?
At least some of the shows I like are finally coming back from their post-sweeps breaks.

Okay, so they finally fixed the level problem that had all of us down at level 1, or 2 or so... and they put us back where we're supposed to be. And then we got maybe one level increase (I went from 5% to 60%, so that was one or two increases), and then... NOTHING!
There's been no level increases for at least a week. And nothing in the forums from the staff (that I've seen, but really, I 'fess up... I didn't really look!
) about it, or what the problem is. This is really annoying. Like I said before, I edit a show that runs daily, and I'm Trusted on another show that also runs daily. I have to keep
adding things every day, whether the levels run or not.
I want my level increases!

The episode in question was a good episode; it was a Friday, and that means Richard Crouse was there to review the recent movies, and that's usually good for a laugh.
What really bothered me in this episode was Seamus's interview with Dexter Megeney, father of the soldier who died due to friendly fire in Afghanistan. This is a difficult topic to talk about, and even though the death was six months ago (or so), I understand that the father might still be upset.
But the interview was one of the worst I've ever seen. It was painful to watch; Mr. Megeney was giving short, one-word answers, which meant that Seamus had to poke and prod to get information out of him. It just made me wonder, if Mr. Megeney didn't want to be there, if he didn't want to talk about it, why did he agree to the interview? It also made me wonder if anyone had actually prepped Mr. Megeney, to tell him what was expected in the interview. I don't think that happened. It truly was painful to watch, and not because of the content of the interview, but simply because of the lack of responsiveness of the interviewee.

I've never read any of the books that this series is based on, but I've heard of the author, and so I thought I'd give this show a try. I'm glad I did. It was an interesting start, and I'll watch again next week, as we had the return of a serial killer at the end of this episode to string us along and make us come back.
The actors in the show were all believable in their roles, although I have to say that Angie Harmon's high-heeled boots looked a little out of place for a cop who has to chase down suspects! That was the only quibble I had with the episode though, and that's a really small quibble.
Overall, it was a good episode, and the show itself looks promising.

American Idol 2 Divas And A Guy Perform Live Avg Score: 8.68 Total Ratings: 44 Total Reviews: 8 |
This is, effectively, the semi-finals for American Idol. Three singers, three songs, and they're all good. They're all popular. What will happen?
It's going to be tough to choose who will go to the finale, because they're all good, and they all had good songs to sing. Melinda was great on all three songs, as was Blake. Jordin was good on the first two, but I didn't like the one she chose for herself; it was too 'pageant-y' as Simon once said about one of her other songs. It was too old-fashioned, and that could be the deciding factor.
Of course, I'm writing this review after the fact, and Jordin isn't eliminated. I know that, but I honestly thought that that one song might be the end for her. I don't know if she can beat Blake in the finale, but it will be a good show, and a tough choice!

That's just the way Logan is... that's what Veronica tells Parker when asked if Logan simply doesn't think about other people. And it's true. But the ironic part is what Veronica doesn't see... that's just the way Veronica is too.
And that was made evident at the end of this episode when Veronica is so happy about being accepted at the FBI for a summer internship. And why shouldn't she be happy? It's a great opportunity for her, but Piz doesn't see it that way, particularly after he considered taking an internship at a top 40 station, just so he could be near Veronica.
Is this the beginning of the end of Veronica and Piz? I think it is, and I just hope that it's the beginning of the end for Logan and Parker too. Which, of course, will leave Veronica and Logan free to get back together!

American Idol 6 Finalists Remain When The Voting Results Are Revealed Avg Score: 8.84 Total Ratings: 70 Total Reviews: 22 |
Yes, finally, not only was Sanjaya in the bottom three, but he was voted off! It's about time, really. His so-called singing has been painful for many weeks, and he really should have gone home a lot sooner. It was horrible to have to watch as other singers, who were better than he was, got voted off and he stayed.
So he's finally gone. Otherwise, there's not much to talk about with this episode, other than... why was Fergie there??? What was she there for? I don't get that at all. Fine, have Martina McBride sing, that's great. She was the 'mentor' for the week. But Fergie? What was that all about?
I wonder how much she paid them to let her be on the show?
