Gossip Girl Much 'I Do' About Nothing Avg Score: 7.51 Total Ratings: 425 Total Reviews: 22 |
I couldn't help be get a small sense of deja vu while watching this episode. It had a small Dawson Creek-esque feel to it. The feel that the person who has been chasing and pining after one individual, finally gets that person, then breaks up with them for the STUPIDEST reasons (in Dawson's Creek, it was Joey who chanced Dawson, and she broke up with him to "find herself." The same is true for Dan. After lusting after Serena for years, and she tries to be upfront with him, his judgmental mindset causing him to lose someone special). Just some food for thought, now that Serena and Dan are free, will the people who lusted after them for such a long time during the series (Vanessa for Dan, and Nate for Serena) finally have their opportunity to be with the ones they love?? The ending seems to imply that this might be a possibility. The ends justified the means, because right when you begin to think favorably of Chuck Bass, he turns back into...well...Chuck Bass, ensuring that the next upcoming season will be just as drama filled as the first.

King of the Hill Hank's Bully Avg Score: 8.94 Total Ratings: 47 Total Reviews: 5 Users who agree: 1 |
I love this episode, because it seems to be so relevent to the times that we are living in now. It seems as though parents try to make any excuses to explain why their children are just plain bad ("he/she is precoious, they have a vivid imagination, etc.) instead of just admitting that their children are bad, and they failed in the discipline department.
Being in this situation is usually really hard to act, so I believe that Hank did an EXCELLENT job dealing with Caleb through out the entire relationship.
One more of my favorite things, is how Bill was sympathetic to Hank. HILLARIOUS!!!

King of the Hill Church Hopping Avg Score: 8.82 Total Ratings: 44 Total Reviews: 4 |
This episode explores the idea of habit in a church setting, and juxtaposes the idea of tedious religious practices with true Christianity. Hank is turned off from his home church due to a seating complication. To me, this shows that Hank has forgotten the ideas of why he even goes to church in the first place, and has replaced the idea of Christianity with his own stubborn practices. I like this episode because, to me, it seems like a cautionary tale. Too many people who attend churches for a while can sometimes become set in their ways, and forget the true reason to why they are at the church (to learn about Christ). Instead, they get easily offended, and begin church hopping, only to realize that the church they initially left is the church that truly fits them the best.
Though I did not care for the ending (Hank sort of bribing the pastor so he can keep his seat, a little immature, and similar to Peggy's behavior, not Hank's), I did enjoy the idea that the pastor of the Mega church was able to remind Hank that happiness doesn't come from stubborness, but from a place where a person can get the Word in a way more comfortable to them.

King of the Hill Daletech Avg Score: 8.22 Total Ratings: 21 Total Reviews: 1 |
I LOVE this episode!!! Within the first few minutes, the tone that was set for the entire episode was amazing, and the episode did a good job keeping the tempo.
The audience acutally gets a chance to see the human side of Cotton Hill. Even though he is still very overbearing, he does try to connect with Hank and his family. He attempts to help Peggy at the beginning, and he even tries to have a nice conversation with her (granted, he still called her "Hank's wife."). He tried to help sell grills at Strickland, even though he accidentally burns off a customer's eyebrows. The audience gets a sense that Cotton is actually trying to connect, but he fails. This causes a sense of compassion for Cotton that I don't think the audience had before, or had very little in "Returning Japanese 1 & 2." When Cotton finally solves the mystery of how Hank's possessions are moved around (and his grapefruit juice is being drunk), it is all thanks to Dale's Daletech. The two characters that seem (at the beginning) to ruin everyone else's lives on Rainy street, ends up being the two who saves the day.

King of the Hill Flirting With the Master Avg Score: 7.73 Total Ratings: 23 Total Reviews: 3 |
I love this episode. In the majority of the episodes in King of Hill, we always get a glimpse of Peggy's dilluted sense of self, but in this episode we are able to see her in her finest. With her mispronouciation of easy Spanish terms (like enunciating the 'h' sound in words like "Hola"), confusing geography, and thinking that Mr. Martinez is truly infatuated with her, we see Peggy as she really is.
Through all of this, we see Hank as he truly is as well. Even though he tries to avoid public forms of affection (my favorite one is a picture of him and Peggy on their wedding day, and instead of kissing, they shook each other's hands), we see that Hank truly does love his wife, and he shows it in the best way that he can.
