Are You Afraid of the Dark? The Tale of the Many Faces Avg Score: 7.65 Total Ratings: 22 Total Reviews: 2 |
Great episode with a good moral message...just because your outer beauty is taken, it doesn't mean you've lost any true part of YOU. Madame Visage is wonderfully creepy, though it is odd that she would need so many faces to keep her young and alive...when one seems sufficient. Despite this minor plothole, this episode is one of the better ones of this season.

Are You Afraid of the Dark? The Tale of the Laser Maze Avg Score: 6.92 Total Ratings: 16 Total Reviews: 1 |
This episode was pretty good until the "Betatron" bit. That was just silly. This reminds me a bit of "The Tale of the Zombie Dice," in that the kids are being used as a form of entertainment to alien life (well, in "Zombie Dice," the buyers weren't exactly aliens). It was also very nebulous about the purpose of the Betatrons. The man said his people weren't agile...so, they needed the Betatrons to play for them. So, why make so many copies? Why make copies at all? It was just so silly and unclear and frustrating.

While the premise for this story may seem silly, it is actually quite well done. The events are oddly believable and the characters are well acted. It is quite tragic and unfortunate that a club would choose alienate and torture a potential member just because they were on a scholarship. But, this shows how cruel kids can be sometimes, and the repercussions they suffer for their actions. One of the better episodes of season 7.

Are You Afraid of the Dark? The Tale of the Last Dance Avg Score: 8.09 Total Ratings: 23 Total Reviews: 1 |
This tale is both beautiful and touching. Normally, such would make for a pretty lousy Are You Afraid Of The Dark episode, but unlike most others, it's a good thing. It's not overly cheesy and it's genuinely sweet. This is one of the best of this season. It's quite similar to "The Phantom of the Opera," but it still is quite unique. The "Lurker" character was very mysterious and surprisingly not that "hideous" at all! Poor guy.

Are You Afraid of the Dark? The Tale of the Reanimator Avg Score: 7.06 Total Ratings: 15 Total Reviews: 2 |
This is one of the better episodes in season 7. Oddly, it wasn't really predictable, which is a nice change from many of the very unoriginal "you can see it coming" episodes that dominate this season. Though it still doesn't hold a candle to the unmatched creativity and wonder of the first five seasons...and even a select few of season 6, it certainly holds a place among the top episodes of season 7.
