For me, this episode was a bit of a let down after "Heart of Fire." I didn't really care much about the fate of the kid or the monster. Neither one was really a sympathetic character. The kid seemed like a narcissistic jerk and Medusa, even with the whole snake head thing, was just kind of boring and not all that threatening. I could have done with less Medusa and more of the Henry / Vicki / Mike story. To me that storyline should have been the main emphasis as the follow up episode to "Heart of Fire" rather than what felt like a generic monster of the week story.
