October 7th 08 - Busy like a bee by dju010

So I'm bloging late at night as I can't sleep. This time it's a serious problem as I have to work tomorrow all day long...
Well I'm otherwise busy all week long. Today I had my hands full with new PC equipment for my dad, plus I had free tickets for Hellboy 2, so I went to see that movie. It was very entertaining I must admit. It wasw fun watching the movie - of course it's nothing outstanding.

Don't expect me to be around much tomorrow either, as I work and play handball. On Thursday things won't be any better and on Friday as well. Then I'm invited for dinner - which usually goes all night long...

However despite my lack of time, I managed to recap The Hills today. Enjoy the recap to the nice episode.

I also had a few minutes time to watch The Big Bang Theory which was nice, but not as outstanding as the previous two episodes.

October 6th 08 - Level 85 by dju010

It took me 78 days to pass through level 84. Looks like an incredibly long time and still I thought it was longer when I looked it up now. Well I hope this level doesn't take up so long, but with the in my eyes broken cast form, it actually might.

It appears we get one bug fix a day, with about 200 still open, it will take a year till everything is fixed around here...

I couldn't sleep last night so I was on the web almost all night long. I checked the wikipedia entries of my favorite music artists and such stuff. Highly interesting what you can learn there. Nonsense most of the time, but it's still funny enough when you can't sleep.

To the about 100 subs I did today, I watched some stuff:
I started with Dexter which I found a bit strange and with a lot of open questions.
Next thing was Californication which still hasn't really started through yet. It's still preparing for the season as it appears. Sad.
Then City Homicide which was disappointing compared to the exciting previews. And last I watched Desperate Housewives but that show is basically over for me. I might finish watching this season, but then it has to be over - or I'll no longer tune in...

Not much to report today. I started handling the duplicate person guide in Brookside. 120 subs so far. Also a few moderated. It's quite a big project to remove a duplicate from 29 seasons.

I also wrote two recaps today as promised.
First was Secret Diary of a Call Girl episode 2x05 - the best episode so far in the season and maybe in the entire series! Just brilliant! Seriously.

Second was Rush episode 5. A nice episode. Good story and I think realistic bad guys.

I also watched Smallville which I thought was a nice episode.

No time for gaming this weekend (unfortunately).

What I forgot to post yesterday: congrats to those who became mods here.

October 4th 08 - Plans and Reality by dju010

So my plan for the day was to make 160 subs. Reality is I made about 80.
My plan was to write a recap today, maybe two. Reality is I wrote none. Sorry to you guys who are waiting for the Rush and the Secret Diary recap. I get to it. I promise. Looks like no time to play Oblivion this weekend, the recaps are waiting.

I also planned to add more episodes to Emmerdale, but I run into a problem there as well: I know a season has 103 episodes, but all sources only list 99. What do I do now? Do I add them and number them 1-99 or what do I do?

Next problem: turns out I have a duplicate guide on Brookside. I expect it to be like 600-800 faulty listings now. Thanks to SrRui for spotting it before it was twice as much to fix and for helping me now sorting things.

I wasn't on last night as I was out watching a movie. An excellent movie about the R.A.F. The movie I went to see was this one. It was such a violent movie. Pretty shocking. However an excellent cast and excellently played. If that movie ever gets to a cinema near you, watch it. It's certainly worth it. Especially as it is also a story about bombings against US military institutions in Germany. And then again when today's topic is terrorism, a look back in time might be quite informative. Especially as I think we already had everything once and it just returned...

On TV in those two days:
Bones: a nasty case, but I loved it.

CSI:NY: Also a nice episode. A bit too easy in my eyes, but still nice.

Private Practice: Also a good season return. Certainly worth watching.

It's always sunny in Philadelphia: Brilliant. Two such excellent episodes.

October 2nd 08 - Rush by dju010

So today I became editor again. This time for Australian police drama Rush. I quite like the show, but still need to recap this week's episode...

Otherwise not much from me today on the site. Three short recaps of rephrasing for Emmerdale. Still that's like 1000 words of typing...

As my Mac is broken (end of life broken) I had to buy a new harddrive today for my PC, 640GB, and some hot swap device. That's fun, to handle a HD like diskettes.

My notebook still gives me grief. After working fine for a couple of days, it did freeze again today while I was skyping. Not nice. Afterwards it was working again fine like nothing happened. It's strange. All memory diagnose tools say the RAM is fine. I can't reproduce the error and can't find anything else wrong...

Seen on TV:
House: Nice. I like the PI as cast addition.

Dirty Sexy Money: It goes on where it stopped. Still an excellent show. I like it.

October 1st 08 - Long night by dju010

It's late around here. 4 am to be precise. I'm still up. I had a long day. First off, I worked all day long, then I went to play handball and afterwards I went to a college party organized by the people in my major. It was fun, but I couldn't really drink much as after sports I can't handle more than a couple of beers...

I can't sleep now for some reason, so I decided to blog.

Everyone appears to be posting the top 5 changes needed to the page. So I'll give it a try as well.

1. A new cast/crew form as the import of cast is simply a huge pain!!
2. Change the gray/white combination. Either black on white, or another background.
3. Bigger font sizes in blog comments.
4. Display the last 10 blogs again.
5. Give me my banners back which I lost due the redesign.

I didn't have time to watch TV at all. Not even how my football team lost their Champions League game.
However I managed to get a small number of subs in, including some 300 word recaps for Emmerdale. I doubt anyone will read them. I never even saw the show myself.
What was nice was the 8% level update today. Is a long time since I moved that much.

September 30th 08 - Strike anyone? by dju010

So the strike was supposed to happen today. I guess it did happen. The forums were dead. However my queue wasn't that busy in months!
Also I was quite busy with over 150 subs today by my calculations (can't really say with the broken status page).

So in my eyes I had a pretty successful day.

On TV:
The Hills: A nice episode!! Of course I recapped it as always first thing in the morning. I would have loved if ShePratt and Doug would have hooked up for real.
City Homicide: A strong episode as well. The show is a constant surprise.
The Big Bang Theory: Perfect once more! Alone the last scene was worth it! But also the rest was beautiful and simply hilarious. I love it.
Chuck: They try to do something which is good and it worked so far, but I'm afraid it might not the entire season.
Terminator: SCC: Such a dark episode. Broken Cameron is nice. Her memories as dark as well thought they are.
How I met your mother: Boring!! Seriously this season the show is simply terrible.
One Tree Hill: A nice story arc comes to an end (or not?) - well actually a few. The show will need something special next time.

So after a long absence and an even longer period with only smallest amounts of subs and days with no subs, I returned to my game - at least for now. I added about 80 subs today. Still nothing compared to earlier days, but it's a good start. I'm manly adding episodes now as I can't work with the new cast/crew form. So it looks like Brookside might not get finished this year as I hoped...

Watching TV:
Dexter: An interesting start into the new season. I liked the episode despite it wasn't anything exciting.

Californication: Boring and disappointing in my eyes. Last season I loved every second. This episode was nothing like that anymore...

True Blood: A bit too many dead people winding up, but otherwise it was quite good.

Desperate Housewives: They pulled off an OTH jump. Interesting, but I still don't know if I will keep watching. The show somehow has lost some of its appeal to me.

Another boring Sunday around here. Some elections and polls in the region. So we finally forbid smoking in restaurants and bars. About time...

As I started yesterday, I decided to play along with Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and played for about three hours today. I'm in the town somewhere right now but that's somehow not real fun, as I still haven't figured out how to sell stuff you find, those cloths and such things.

Then I watched some season two episodes of Prison Break. It's a bit boring right now in my eyes.

A couple of subs to that, but since the new design and the terrible cast form, I can't work on my Brookside cast anymore. It just is too difficult to use.

I'm all out of blog titles once again.
An average Saturday for me. Walking the dog for about two hours, sleeping long, watching some TV. Doing nothing...

Well I installed Elder Scroll IV: Oblivion on my PC today and played for about half an hour, then I got bored and turned it off. Still in the basement of that prison.

Then I finally got time for some Middleman episode. Everyone told me the show was good, I put it on hold after the pilot, so I'm now watching it.
It indeed gets better.
