Last year, we happened to be at the wrong place at the right time. My two children, both 20 and over, and I went to the taping of the last show of "America's Got Talent." We went there to hopefully see Terry Fator win. We were mistakenly sent to the wrong area to sit - the area where the contestants on the show go in and their families went in. We got to meet all of the contestants, but the one we were most excited to meet was Terry. He was as nice as could be, as were all of his family members. He was very encouraging to my son. Terry is such an original talent! Not only is he a super ventriloquist, but he is also an incredible impersonator, talented singer, wonderful comedian, and a genuinely nice guy. Our family is in the Terry Fator camp. We hope that he goes far.

This was the first time that I had seen this episode, and I wasn't happy with it. I didn't like the storyline, though I am not always happy with the juries' decisions. In this case I wasn't happy with Jack McCoy's decision to prosecute this case so vigorously. First of all, the husband in the story was one of NYFD's firemen in Tower 1 who made it. His best friend didn't. To console the widow, he spent all his time with the widow who received BUCKS because of her fireman/husband, who died on 9/11. The living fireman divorces his wife and marries his best friend's widow. Then the rich newly wed/widow and rat ex-husband want to take the children from the ex-wife, who had been totally left alone to cope with the aftermath of 9/11. She didn't have a hero fireman to console her. Prior to 9/11 she had a husband that she loved and was a stay-at-home mom. Post 9/11, she lost her husband, had to go to work, put her boys in daycare, and was possibly going to lose her twin boys to the ex-husband and the witch who took him from her. The police's psychologist agreed that the ex-wife saw all of this as a continuing event tied to 9/11.

Serena and the DA wanted to cut the lady a break, but not Jack McCoy. He gets so self-righteous at times that it is more than irritating. What a jerk! I love Law and Order. I miss Lenny. But I could have done without the Jack McCoy in this story.

I would have given this episode a zero, but contrary to the instructions, TV.com does not accept 0 for a score. Bigotry is absolutely wrong, and Maher excels in bigotry against Catholics and the Catholic Church. Bigotry can lead to extremism, hate, and hate crimes. Maher should be kicked off television. Just read what Maher said in this hate-filled monologue in this episode:

"Whenever you combine a secretive compound, religion and weirdos in pioneer outfits, there's going to be some child-f*cking going on. In fact, whenever a cult leader sets himself up as "God's infallible wing man" here on earth, lock away the kids.

Which is why I'd like to tip off law enforcement to an even larger child-abusing religious cult. Its leader also has a compound. And this guy not only operates outside the bounds of the law, but he used to be a Nazi and he wears funny hats. [photo of the Pope shown]

That's right. The Pope is coming to America this week, and, ladies, he's single! Now, I know what you're thinking: "Bill, you can't be saying that the Catholic Church is no better than this creepy Texas cult! For one thing, altar boys can't even get pregnant."

But, really, what tripped up the "little cult on the prairie" was that they only abused hundreds of kids, not thousands all over the world. Cults get raided. Religions get parades. How does the Catholic Church get away with all of their buggery? VOLUME, VOLUME, VOLUME!

If you have a few hundred followers and you let some of them molest children, they call you a cult leader. If you have a billion, they call you "Pope."

It's like if you can't pay your mortgage, you're a deadbeat, but if you can't pay a million mortgages, you're Bear Stearns, and we bail you out. And that's who the Catholic Church is, the Bear Stearns of organized pedophilia. Too big to fail. When the - when the current Pope was in his previous Vatican job as John Paul's Dick Cheney - he wrote a letter instructing every Catholic bishop to keep the sex abuse of minors secret until the statute of limitations ran out. And that's the Church's attitude: 'We're here, we're queer get used to it.'

Which is fine. Far be it from me to criticize religion. But, just remember one thing: if the Pope was, instead of a religious figure, merely the CEO of a nationwide chain of daycare centers where thousands of employees had been caught molesting kids and then covering it up, he'd be arrested faster than you can say, 'Who wants to touch Mister Wiggle?'"

Every time I think of my most unfavorite MASH episodes, this is one of the ones that I think of. I love season 7, but I hate this episode. This show cases the preachy BJ Hunnicutt. Both Hawkeye and BJ moan about the war all the time, but Hawkeye does something about a butcher colonel, by taking him out of action with an appendectomy. BJ acts so holier-than-thou about Hawkeye's surgery, but Hawkeye does something about the war with his action. He doesn't kill the Colonel, just Incapacitates him for a while. Hawkeye does an operation, and the Colonel comes out of it okay. The fact is that he comes out of it better than some of the men that he sends in battle with a 20% death or injury rate. The Klinger side story is not even funny. Best not to show this episode all together.

I have been a fan of John Adams since the first time I saw 1776 in Philadelphia in July 1976. Over the years I have read what I could about John and Abigail, for one cannot read about John without his wife. I loved David McCullough's book on Adams. I rather dreaded this mini series because I couldn't see either Paul Giamatti as John or Laura Linney as Abigail Adams. I still don't see them as these wonderful historical figures, but I have come to appreciate the actors' abilities. Each episode has been well written. Each episode leaves me wanting more right away. I appreciate the historical details that I see from the costumes through the sets. It a wonderful series. I highly recommend it.
