I'm Back!

After an absence from tv.com for a week or so i'm back! My internet's been acting weird so I haven't been contributing or anything else so I just logged in, cleared my queue and left. Miss me? (forgive the self-centeredness of that comment)

So since my internet is at it's former glory i'll be back contributing, it looks like i'm about to sink two active show editorships! Yay!

I recently got some sad news, I was bumped from the top 10 contributors on one of my favorite shows Saturday Night Live. Being on that top 10 is one of my goals at tv.com and this made me sad to find out. Luckily, the 10th person is only a hair higher then my score so after my 10 contributions are accepted (hopefully) I should be back up (or extremly close).

I just watched Elizabethtown on DVD and I still love it. Anyone else ever see it?

I saw Running With Scissors author Augusten Burroughs speak recently, which was very exciting. I got to meet him and have him sign my copy of his new book, A Wolf At The Table. If your familiar with his work, this is a must-read. It's not funny like his others because it's about his father who was a very dangerous man.

As always, I hope everyone's well.

I finally updated my signiture on the forums! I don't know why, but I hadn't changed it a whole lot since I first became a member here for some reason.

Bye for now

Dave

Bloggidy Blog Blog...

Well I just discovered this fantastic site www.surfthechannel.com. It has free television and movies, the amount is wild. Some of it has like Japanese subtitles at the bottom but if your willing to be flexible you can find some excellent television series and movies on there, sometimes really new movies (like still in theaters) and complete television series (like The O.C., something i'm about to watch today). I watched Year of the Dog on there and it was pretty good, kind of had an Indie feel but the ending rapped it up nicely. Blogger beware, i'm not sure how 100% legal that site is, my guess not very. You don't have to log in or anything though.

I'm about to advance level and score a new show editorship so it's definitly a good day around here. My latest is American Pie actor Jason Biggs, remember this smooth operator and how he worked his magic with Nadia (Shannon Elizabeth)?

Does anyone really read other people's reviews? I was considering writing alot more reviews but I kinda thought, what's the point?

I hope everyone's well, it looks like i'm seeing my sister this weekend.

Half Birthday!

In the tradition of acting like a total five-year-old this blog is centered on celebrating my half birthday! Yes, in six months it will be my birthday and six ago I was blowing out those 134 candles (i'm that old, you didn't know?). It's a time where I can look out and decide if there's any changes I want to make in six months so I don't have to celebrate my 135th birthday with a certain monkey on my back. Feel free to wish me a "Happ Bir" or a "Ppy Thday!" depending on if you see the glass half-ful or half-empty.

I was worried when I only saw one comment on my 'I'm Leaving tv.com' blog but the prank worked perfectly, eight comments! Gotcha, i'm not actually leaving tv.com anytime soon! I'm glad I would get so much love if I did though haha! How was everyone elses april fool's day? Play any pranks, fall for any?

Definitly not the last time,

David

Bye Everyone

After much consideration I decided to leave tv.com due to the strictness of the moderators and a lack of time. Without dwelling too much and getting sappy I want to say i've come to appriciate everyone here and I will be retiring from all my guides (open season!) so bye everyone.

For the final time,

David

After hearing good things about the series I just finished watching this episode online and found it enjoyable. There were some faults like it wasn't as smart and funny as it should be but it was an entertaining episode overall. I feel FOX was misplaced to handle a series like this, they don't really do quirky-smart humor. I thought the plotting of the episode was smart and pretty funny, it's a good setting to place a show. The problems I felt with this episode was I feel this lead character is out there in this series on her own, expected to carry the entire program and I just don't know if she's likeable enough. It was a good episode and I look forward to watching episode two but I can't see this as a long-running series to any extent. She's great but enough to make an audience watch episode two on purpose, she needs a better supporting cast. The plot was creative and inventive and I feel that's what saved the show to become the cult-hit it is, I can't wait to find out what's going on with these animals talking to her, very animorphism of FOX to dare to do. Overall, a good episode with some tweaks that may or may not be taken care of.

I enjoyed this episode alot more then the first two episodes. Parker Posey toned it down and the writing was better, while nothing amazing, was alot better. This show has alot of heart although it's not the most hysterical thing i've ever seen it was funny. I saw a progression with this episode and I feel it would have continued to become better if given the chance by FOX. I was sorely disappointed by the first two episodes and was sure this episode wouldn't be much better but was plesantly suprised. Hopefully the rest of the episodes will be leaked by FOX online. The episode's writing was still not that of an excellent quality but it was funny enough and Lauren Ambrose once again gave a great performance.

I was doubtfully convinced to watch this episode by my sister despite not loving past episodes of this series before and it was just how I remember it, just funny enough to keep your attention. It definitly grew speed and become funnier as time went on but this was simpily average on the level of sitcoms. If the episode continued as it did for about the first ten minutes it would have really been unenjoyable but it got it's wings and become more enjoyable. Basiclly Christine whining about her menopausle symptoms was boring until she took Barb's cream and started getting pumped with testosterone where it hit the highlight of the episode. It stalled out a little with the ballroom scene but still was funny enough to carry it through the episode. Overall, I felt this episoe was just funny enough to carry itself through without anything too steller to get exctied, or laugh hard, about.

I found this enjoyable enough but when it comes to Married With Children the expectations are alot higher then that of an ordinary sitcom. Not a whole lot of jokes per se but more focused on the storyline itself which was disappointing. I wasn't laughing as much as I normally do when watching MWC, I found Kelly and Bud's plotline kind of filler-esque and the whole April Fool's Day set-up really, really predictable and unexciting. It definitly wasn't one of the finer episodes, the end scene was pretty funny but besides a few funny scenes and dialouge it was a pretty average episode, nothing to really laugh out loud at.

This episode was a BIG improvement from the first episode. Maybe it was Eric McCormack but this episode worked so much better then the awkward first episode. It all came together so nicely into a very enjoyable episode. Eric's charm and Wendy's desperation worked so well together. Jane's reaction to seeing Eric was priceless and I loved how the receptionist was so desperate for him she kept answering the questions he was acting Wendy as if they were directed towards her, that was the highlight of the episode. I loved the "poaching" in the beginning and how they both had to pretend to know anything about these sharks. Something told me the cast's togetherness would bring a much better second episode so I gave it another chance after the disappointing first episode. Starting with this episode I can offically say I like this series and eagerly await the third episode online.

I'm a chicken! Bawk! Bawk! Uh....moo? Uh.....hiss? Uh....haha you've probulay already stopped reading as your IQ has dropped 18 points in the last 10 seconds. That's enough no more talk about poultry! I'm all serious now about acting silly. Let's talk about me me me ME!!!! Who am I right? Why would you ask me since I don't have a clue myself? I sleep alot and eat pizza. I also luv my Ipod but it always wants to be wild but I sometimes just wanna cuddle. The cheese in the fridge speaks french. I'm seriously not kidding. Also I love TV!!! I'm going through a 'Movie Marathon' phase right now but it's bound to pass back into 'TVathons'. A few people have told me they don't recognize any of my editorships for people but you most likely (like me) don't know their name but know there work. I think this site is fun but it's eating up all of my time! I am addcited! In the words of Tigger from Winnie The Pooh "Ta-Ta for now!" (no don't get the wrong idea I hate Disney)
