MY REVIEWS

  • show: Firefly

    episode: Jaynestown

    The Bottom Line: "Perfect"

Jaynestown is one of the best episodes of the season as it is probably Jayne's & one of Simon's best episode. It is one of the funniest episodes with lots of drama and Jayne's emotional outburst when he knocks down his statue was great two. It has some great interaction with River and Book, first she tries to rewrite his bible, then she is terrified but his super freaky Einstein Hair. The best scene between them is when book is going to see what she is doing and she tells him "Keep walking preacher man". Simon has some great scenes where he is drunk with Kaylee and the best is when he asks for a menu. I love the yokel factor in this episode when the bartender gives him "The best Damm whiskey in the House". The basic plot is that Jayne was pulling as heist a few years ago on this moon canton where mud is made to make clay. He was stealing from the owner of the slaves of canton who are called mudders. He stole a very large amount of money but his ship was damaged and had to lose cargo so he had to throw everything over board even his partner before he threw the loot which the mudders got and were able to keep the money through protest. The crew of serenity have to go to canton to to do a job, while their they see a statue of Jayne and find out that Jayne is a Legendary Folk Hero. He even as a song about him called "The Hero of Canton". The town has a big festival for Jayne which the crew use to smuggle goods onto serenity. The Owner of Canton who has been keeping Jayne's partner (who he betrayed) captive in a box for 4 years unleashes him on Jayne. Jayne is about to be shot until a mudder takes the bullet for him and is killed. This sends Jayne into a rage in which he violently kills his old partner. Later he talks with Mal telling him that he can't understand why the mudder saved him. Mal tells him that those people need a hero to keep them going and Jayne is that hero. In other news Inora beds a virgin.

In conclusion this was probably one of the better episodes of firefly. It is well written and has a great mix of drama and comedy (as firefly always has).

  • show: Firefly

    The Bottom Line: "Perfect"

Firefly from the mind of Joss Whedon the Creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. This has to be his greatest creation though.

Firefly is the most well written show I have ever seen, it has 9 fantastic characters with great actors. All the characters have an involved and important storyline. The main character of Mal is a brilliant creation. He is hard not to love, you see great character development over the show of an already developed character with an interesting past. Zoe his loyal first mate who has followed him since the war. The great character of Wash, he is an hilarious character that brings something different to the table. Jayne the flawed, funny and tough character, even though he does stupid things you can't help but love him. Kaylee who you can't not love with all her charm and compassion for everybody. Inora is also great even though she doesn't have as many great storylines as the rest or the background she is still an awesome character. It would have been interesting to see how her and mal's relationship folded out. Shepard Book is the conscience of the crew and is just a legend character with an interesting past (possibly as an operative). Simon is great to see in situations in the outer planets where he is so out of place (best in Jaynestown when he asks for a menu), I find him a really likable character. How can you not like River with all the her crazy stuff she does, her interaction with book is great when she tries to rewrite her bible. Her multiple personalities are very interesting when she goes from playing with Kaylee like a child to when she slashes Jayne with a knife.

Every episode of this show is brilliant and their should have been more, so much more to tell. One of the many reasons this show was so successful was the great chemistry the cast and characters had as a family on serenity. In conclusion if you really love this show then don't give up hope for it's return.

  • show: Battlestar Galactica (2003)

    The Bottom Line: "Superb"

The New Battlestar Galactica, The Best show of 2005. Has many great things I love in a TV show Great Characters, Great Story lines, Suspense, Great Themes, Awesome special effects, and lots of twists. I have only really got into Battlestar recently and all I have to say is Awesome. I have just finished watching Season 1 on DVD and plan o going to buy Season 2 in about a week. I hear Season 2 is even better than season 1. Some of my favourite characters are Starbuck, Number 6,captain Apollo,Commander Adama and many others. The show is quite intense and additive which is the way I like it. I also like they the way they try to make it more realistic by using bullets etc.

  • show: That '70s Show

    The Bottom Line: "Perfect"

That 70's Show is a story about several crazy teenagers and their family's in the 70's. It was of funniest shows of all time in my opinion it is quite big over here in Australia. It does well in the ratings every night, we are about halfway through season 8. I think that its prime was season 4-7. Season 8 isn't as good without Eric & Kelso. I can't really say that I have a favorite character because they are all so great. Although fes,Kelso,Leo,Bob,Eric and Red are probably the funniest they all have their moments. I am thinking about buying the dvds of my favourite seasons on dvd because it is such a great show. In Conclusion That 70's Show is probably in my top 5 or 3 favorite sit-coms.

  • person: Kenta Kobayashi

    The Bottom Line: "Superb"

KENTA is one of the top Japanese wrestler of all time which is saying a lot considering there have been so many legendary Japanese Wrestlers Such as Tiger Mask, Misauwa, Kobashi and many others. He has a good mix of High flying moves and ground based grapples. His finishing move Go 2 Sleep (Which CM Punk Now uses). Has been awarded Best Finisher by the Wrestling Observer for the years 2006 & 2007. He has made numerous appearances in Ring Of Honor(as part of ROHNOAH's agreement) many of these have been main events or even title shots. One of his most memorable matches was against Bryan Daniels (Then ROH Champ) who he beat. KENTA is still young and has a big future ahead of him.
