A bit of everything

This blog is going to be a bit all over the place as it is about nothing in particular.

Football

Well Liverpool are close to signing Dossena and to be quite honest i have no information on him what so ever apart from he is a left back and is Italian i have never seen him play so whether or not he is a good signing or not i really don't know will just have to wait and see.I am still hoping we can finally get in a world class winger we are really lacking in that position and I'm sure had we had good wingers last season we would of won more games we drew too many games last year.

So the European Championship finals have been decided and it will be Germany against Spain i am hoping Spain will do it but Germany just always seems to be there or there about in every tournament but the one thing i am very glad about is the fact that i am off work so i can actually watch the final. I have only watched a handful of games all tournament because i have been working so at least i will get to watch the main one however i haven't been disappointed with the games i have been able to watch they have been very exciting games so let's hope the final can send the tournament out with a bang.

Video games

Well not a lot to report here to be honest other than i picked up Civilization Revolution and i have to say it's a very addictive game was thinking about picking up Battlefield Bad Company but the demo wasn't that great and being a bit low on cash i decided to give it a miss. Looking ahead i really don't know what my next purchase will be seems like the year has been really lacking so far but it does look like it will pick up later in the year.

Life

Well life is going well for me at the moment work has been going great although i could do with a few more hours as i am only doing 30 hours a week currently but i should be able to get that in the next few week. The big thing for me now is i think i am going to send away for my provisional driving license on Monday or Tuesday so should get that about 3 weeks later and then it's just a case of booking lessons and working towards getting ready for the driving test. I have to say i can't wait to start driving i am just so fed up of having to organise my life around using public transport and once i am driving i will start to go to more events such as a few motorsport races, sports events and some music gigs.

I'm not really sure what else to put so i think this will do for now if you want to suggest anything or ask any questions fire away

It's my birthday

Today is my 20th birthday and to be honest i feel like **** no it's nothing like im feeling old or anything like that but because i went out last night. The original plan was to go for a few pints and be home for about 12 as i had work in the morning however it didn't really go to plan and i got home about 3am and quite drunk. I had to be up for 8am to be in work on time for my 10am start which i made and to be honest i was feeling fine but after about an hour in work i hangover really kicked in because i really did feel like **** for the rest of my shift thankfully i wasn't the only one who was resting a hangover.

Anyway on a brighter note i am going to talk about the good stuff the presents i got usual gifts like aftershaves and other bits'n'bobs the sort of stuff i get every year but this year i also got £120 cash and a new watch which i absolutely love. Check it out

I think sometime this week i have to send off for my provisional driving license i need to stop putting it off and make the move as i know once i got the provisonal i will book lessons almost straight away but at the moment without one i just keep putting it off.

A few updates on football and gaming

Just a few updates from the past week or so here goes

Gaming

On the GTA front i haven't been playing it too much over the past week to be honest just haven't had time with work and other stuff. I did finish the story on Thursday or Friday don't know if it was just me but i found the last few missions very easy the last but one mission give me one of those cool moments basically you have to drive someone to somewhere well i picked a motorbike i was a few corners away from the destination i was going along pretty quick went between two cars at traffic lights sort of lost control dodging a car coming from the right hit another car the person on the back of the bike went flying and hit a truck coming ion the opposite direction i loved it that was one of those WOW! moments for me. I still haven't got round to playing the multiplayer yet i want to get closer to 100% first maybe finish most of the side missions first but i may give it a go for a bit tomorrow and Tuesday as i finish work earlier than usual on both days.

I downloaded the Grid demo Friday night and while i enjoyed the track races i just couldn't get into the drifting i don't know what it was but it just couldn't grab my attention. The other problem i saw was the cars didn't seem to have any weight and handled way too easy which was the same problem i found with Dirt maybe they are trying to appeal to the more mass market but there just doesn't seem to be any challenge to winning unless you make a mistake. I don't think i will be picking the game up after playing the demo it just seemed to be lacking in a few key departments for me.

Football

Well the football season has come to an end Liverpool end it trophyless and to be honest while we have some steps forward i still think we are 2-3 players away from putting up any sort of a challenge and with all the **** going on at boardroom level i can't see us getting those players this summer. I just hope to God everything gets sorted once and for all i am sick of these people making the club a laughing stock we need an end to this and the sooner the better.

My local team Swansea City has had an outstanding season winning league one and playing some very good football in the process Martinez has put together a fantastic mix of the more pfysical British players and the more technically gifted contenental players. Next year is going to be very tough up in the Championship but im sure with Martinez at the helm and with momeny available i am sure they can do ok and at least be safe i don't expectthem to b challenging for a play off position or anything but a mid table finish would be good.

Getting a new phone today hopefully

I am hoping to upgrade my phone today i currently have the Sony Ericsson K810i but to be honest i am sick of it now it's quite ugly and it's lacking in features thinking about it i don't know why i bought it in the first place.

My current phone

There were quite a few phones i was really interested in all looked awesome and had plenty of features but i am limited with my contract i wanted the Nokia N95 but i didn't want to pay the £90 upfront to upgrade to it so that ruled that out. I ended up getting it down to 3 phones they are

LG Viewty KU990

Combining a touchscreen user interface with the latest technology, the Viewty ticks all the boxes: 5 megapixel camera, 3G video calling, high quality video camera, MP3 player, FM radio, HSDPA for broadband internet speeds and bags of memory, this is probably LG's best phone so far.

Samsung U900 Soul

The U900 is Samsung's flagship phone of 2008. It's a super-sexy super-slim slide phone that looks very "2008" with its dual-screen touch-sensitive controls and metal casing. With a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus, 3G video calling, MP3 player, FM radio and plenty of memory it should tick most people's boxes.

Nokia N82

A good alternative to the N95, the N82 offers very nearly the same features, but at a significantly lower price. It's a smartphone with GPS navigation, an outstanding 5 megapixel camera, media player, wireless LAN, a 2 Gbyte memory card and HSDPA for accelerated 3G connectivity.

I have put them in order of which ones i want most with the LG Viewty KU990 being my first choice and Nokia being my last i just got to wait for my mother to get back from town now hopefully with my new phone.

UPDATE: I found out that i couldn't upgrade until September now looks like Orange have got a bit stricter on upgrades anyway now i am in the release window of the Nokia N96 which is the phone i really want so i thought i would add that to here.

Nokia N96

The N96 is an evolution and refinement of the Nokia N95 rather than a whole new model, but seeing as the original phone was very good to start with this isn't a bad thing. The larger screen, refined design and additional memory bring the phone back up to flagship level, something which over the last year the N95 had started to lose.

Not a happy bunny

I got home from work tonight to find no parcel waiting for me and no card/leaflet through the door to say they have tried to deliver my GTA IV limited edition. I am absolutely gutted now to be honest i wouldn't of been able to play it for that long tonight anyway as i only got home from work at about 21:30 but still that is 2 and a half hours i could of been playing the biggest game of the year for but because of Game and the Royal Mail im stuck here without it and I'm really ****** off. The only thing i have got for preordering is 500MS points and some gamer-pics which i would give up in an instant if it meant i would of got the game on release.

I think I'm going to give my local sorting office a ring in the morning to see if they are holding anything for me and if not then i am going to give Game a ring and see what is happening because i should of received it on time i had free express delivery as my order was over £100 so should of got it on time.

Also i want to find out if there is a maximum limit on the amount of reward points i can have on my reward card at Game as i have recently hit 10,000 points but i thought i should of had a bit more than that if anyone can answer that for me that wuld be great..

Im a huge fan of the show ever since i started follwoing football at around the age of 7 years old and it was pretty much the only place to get the highlights then. It lost the rights for premiership matches a few years ago and duringthat time it just proved how good this programme was 'The premiership' even though wasnt bad it was still lacking that something special which this show has in abundance and a plus for me is no ad breaks.
The presenter and pundits know what they are talking about and they are not afraid to speak there mind and a lot of the time they are right. They also have a lot of talented commentators that make watching the games very enjoyable and also imformative.
The one thing i really like about this show over others is the unbias from the poeple involved not just commentators but also the pundits and presenters and that cant be said for others.
Its a must watch every saturday after following my team Liverpool.
