Quincy, M.E. On Dying High Avg Score: 8.60 Total Ratings: 3 Total Reviews: 1 |
In this episode of the the celebrated series QUINCY, M.E., J. J. Chandler, a country singer who is clearly meant to be Johnny Cash, has gone off stage and begins preparing to \"chase the dragon\" (not merely sniffing, as is implied in the episode) using marijuana. A fan rushes into the room where he is sitting, causing Chandler to burst into flames. He rushes onstage and Dr. Quincy throws a tablecloth over him, saving his life. Chandler is rushed to hospital, but, unfortunately, his vocal chords are seared and he can no longer sing; he\'s placed in intensive care.
He also - much to the dismay of Dr. Quincy - plans to allow his last concert to debut on televison as scheduled earlier; Dr. Quincy tries to get the TV executives to cancel the upcoming airdate, but fails - Chandler is the sole owner of the rights to all his concerts, and only he can cancel his own final concert. Eventually, after another young lady dies of a drug overdose and ends up on Quincy\'s mortuary table. Realizing the error of his ways, Chandler himself goes to the room where the young woman who had startled him earlier has been admitted after herself suffering an overdose, and convinces her to stop taking Marijuana, telling her that the drug has brought an end to his singing career.

The Smurfs A Little Smurf Confidence Avg Score: 8.94 Total Ratings: 8 Total Reviews: 1 |
This episode came out in the third season and is one of the better ones. It deals with Papa Smurf\'s attempts to help a smurf called Weakling regain his self-confidence, finally succeeding with a potion he calls the \"Can-Do Potion.\" One of the weaknesses of the episode is that it was originally broadcast without an ending, so that the story ended just after Weakling saves Hefty after the dam bursts! In the ending that was added later, Papa Smurf reveals that the \"Can-Do Potion\" is actually smurfberry jam - Weakling had done all the rescuing himself. Weakling now races around the village with Papa Smurf and Hefty Smurf on his shoulders and shouting:
\"I did it all myself!\"

Murder, She Wrote The Sicilian Encounter Avg Score: 7.95 Total Ratings: 4 Total Reviews: 2 |
This is one of the best MURDER, SHE WROTE episodes written, featuring Michael Hagarty, Jessica's secret agent friend, in the starring role. Also along for the ride is Ian Ogilvy as Edward Baines, the brother of the murderous agent Harold Baines (the role was created so Ogilvy wouldn't have to reprise the role of Harold Baines, who is supposed to be in prison in Greece for murdering a fellow agent - Harold is Edward's twin brother).
The plot involves Michael posing as a priest in order to marry an American agent posing as the widow of a dedicated mob boss in order to learn the location of the diamonds he has stolen and hidden. I can't help wondering, though - given Michael Hagarty's star turn in this episode, could the script have been originally written for the series "Secret Agent Man" or "The Saint?"
