MY REVIEWS

  • show: The Shield

    episode: Dawg Days

    The Bottom Line: "Superb"

Vic tries to get a peace agreement between two rappers whose fued gets deadly as gang members that suuport the two rappers start killing each other. Meanwhile Dut and Claudette look for a missing illegal alien worker because the worker is Jorge Machado's maid's husband. Captain Aceveda becomes friends with Jorge Machado who says he will back him up if he runs for city councel if he can get dirty cops off the street. I really enjoyed this episode and found it very funny how Vic locked the two rappers in a shipping container for an entire night to see if they can resolve the problem peacefully or if not then only one would survive the night anyway. At the end of corse only one lived. Just a great episode. Though only the 4th I must say this one is so far my favorite.

    episode: The Spread

    The Bottom Line: "Great"

Its Sweep time at the barn where all the detectives has to get any of their suspects that have warrents. While Vic goes to get a suspect he finds a professional basketball player chillin with a few drug dealers that have warrents. They keep the b-ball player with them all day to make his miss the game and at the same time bet a lot of money on the opposing team. The episode is not as good as other ones and the Claudette and Dutch storyline in this episode is quite weird and scary. It is still a good episode but after the first two I wasn't as thrilled with this one. Still a good episode and hopefully the quality will not dip.

    episode: Our Gang

    The Bottom Line: "Superb"

This episode picks up right where the pilot left off. This automatically (in my book) makes the show better than most because it shows that it is not just another cop show where it is one case per episode and whatever happened one week ago no longer effects any of the characters this week. The episode revoles around Aceveda trying to pin the murder of Detective Terry Crowley on Vic. The episode shows that though Vic is a very tough person he does have feelings and is a real human being. He is not just a cop but has another life with his family and is mentally effected by his murder of Terry. The way Claudette breaks down the kid into confessing that he shot the churro vendor is also great. As with the first episode this one is also amazing. Though it has much less action for me good dialoge is always much more important than a gunfight. So far The Shield is 2 for 2.

    episode: Pilot

    The Bottom Line: "Superb"

I was recently online and looking at different tv shows that are avaliable on DVD. I was looking for a new show to watch that will grab my attention, shock me and just overall amaze me. I stumbled apon The Shield and after reading a few (all extremly positve reviews of the show) I though well why not try it. I just finnished watching the first two episodes and I must say I already love the show. The Pilot episode was very good and really showed me who the main character is. Hopefully this was not just the pilot episode and the show will continue to be this good. Once again this is truly an amazing episode with an amazing ending.

    episode: My Nickname

    The Bottom Line: "Superb"

J.D. gets the nickname Scooter from the joanitor and many people begin calling him that. J.D. begins to have a better medical knowledge then Carla while at the same time Turk learns that his secret lunch spot was actually Dr.Kelso\'s years before (and still is). This leads to an all out war between who will get the spot from sending a Turk upstairs to actually eating in the rain creating a very funny episode. While Carla gets very mad J.D. for not understanding her but things are worked out at the end. A great episode where you learn a lot about Carla and her personlity.
