This episode was so boring that it was almost painful to watch. This is coming from a major fan of Smallville. One thing about this episode is that the villain, was just not villain enough. This was done on purpose, but did not make for a good story.
The whole story behind the freak of the week being a good friend to the Kents was neat, yet unbelievable. What are the chances that him out of all people would wind up with powers (If you could even call it that) and need Clark's help? Also, it would have been a neat idea to make him know about Clark's powers already. It would have strengthened the bond and made them more believable as friends.
Another thing that bugged me about this episode were the amazing seizures that killed anyone the guy touched. I can't even remember the guys name. Edgar or something. Shows how much this episode fails to keep your eyes and ears focused. The idea of him killing anyone he touched made me sick. I can't believe the writers thought we'd believe it.
All that said, there were a few key parts in this episode that made it work to an extent as the other reveiwers mentioned. The whole hostage situation was very fun. I also enjoyed Lex being the hero for a change. Well at least, trying to be the hero, anyway.

This episode was very amazing. More of Dean's inner character was revealed. There were quite a few scenes that were so good they gave me chills. The part where Sam fights the faux Dean was very well planned out and executed and the scene of the creature explaining his origin and feelings was actually touching, making you feel sympathetic for him. Then there was the creature escaping from the S.W.A.T. team and shedding his Dean skin. I never thought I would see anything like it on the WB. It doesn't get much better than this folks.

This episode is, and I am sure not only in my eyes, the best episode of the whole series. Everything led up to this final confrontation between Ben and Justin which turns into quite the Christ VS Anti-Christ battle. This episode was truly beautifully written including the very end which was also the most horrible cliffhanger in televised history leaving you both satisfied and dissapointed. All in all, completes the series either way in entirety, even though a third season would have been great.

Far better than any of the others. This episode played out almost as if it was written by writers far more experienced. I admit, the war scene was very short, but they only get an hour to put things into an episode, and I find that I would much rather watch Pullo and Vorenus find there way out of trouble than watch a pretty girl like Octavia have sex with such an old woman. Also I'd like to add, nobody knows how Pompey Magnus really looked. There is really no way to know, no matter what fake painting you've seen.

This show is heading for at least a few more seasons and in my opinion, this episode has the best story of the aired four episodes, although it was a little lacking. Amy Acker should continue to play her role, because seeing Dean flirt with her is, well more fun than most things on this show. As I was saying, this episode had a wonderful story to it, just needed a little sprucing up. The humor between brothers needs a bit of work, but Jensen Ackles character, to agree with the person below, is better than his on Smallville.
