Medical Center Avg Score: 7.99 Total Ratings: 65 Total Reviews: 2 |
Medical Center first aired when I was a 12-year-old in the 7th grade and ended between high school graduation and first year of college. The show was a weekly staple in our home. I had a huge crush on Chad Everett. I can recall tearing magazine photos of him from the teen magazines (because the editors of those mags knew I wasn't the only young girl out there with such a crush) and tacking them onto my wall next to pictures of Elvis, David Cassidy and the Monkees. The good Dr. Gannon can treat me anytime. Good memories. Great show.

Gregory Jbara Avg Score: 7.20 Total Ratings: 5 Total Reviews: 1 |
Gregory Jbara is one of the most versatile actors in show business. For stage, film, or television, Greg can perform in any genre. He acts, sings, dances - all superbly. He's entertained and charmed audiences on Broadway and other venues. Whether he's voicing cartoon characters, portraying dramatic parts, or playing comedic roles like that of the annoying, but hilarious neighbor Dan O'Keefe on television's Grounded for Life, Gregory Jbara catches your attention. Fans know him for being accessible to them. Colleagues know him for his work ethic. They all know Greg for his kindness, sense of humor, and easy-going manner.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas Avg Score: 8.61 Total Ratings: 87 Total Reviews: 7 |
The one and only How the Grinch Stole Christmas. No, really, that live action movie simply does not count. Accept no substitutes, folks. This is the classic tale by the wonderful Dr. Seuss (pronounced "Soyce" acccording to Harlan Ellison, and I don't know about you, but I'm not going to argue with Harlan about it) gloriously brought to life in a way that live-action could never do justice. (Nothing against Jim Carrey; I'm a fan. It's just the live-action version was completely unnecessary.) Directed by the awesome Chuck Jones (known also for directing classic Looney Tunes and Tom and Jerry).

This show drives me crazy, but so often when I come across it, or someone else in my family is watching it, I admit I get a bit mesmerized by it, by the characters, by the use of repetition, by the use of repetition, by the use of repetition. Okay, bye now. Okay, bye now. Okay, bye now...

Leave It to Beaver Avg Score: 8.46 Total Ratings: 395 Total Reviews: 27 |
Sue me, I love this show, especially the earlier episodes. It did sometimes get wearing when Beaver still acted exactly the same at eleven or twelve as he had at six. I'm not sure if that was entirely Jerry Mathers or the way he was directed to act. At any rate, the creators were smart to let the show end when it did rather than allow the network to shoot it in color, which would have been a huge mistake. May the Beav live on in glorious black and white somewhere on our tv schedule forever.
