    The Bottom Line: "Superb"

Dexter's Laboratory doesn't look all that great but it is an incredibly fun to watch cartoon with morals, characters with personality, and style.

Dexter's Lab is a show following the adventures (or misadventures) of Dexter and (sometimes) his sister Dee Dee that usually have to do with Dexter's seret Laboratory that only he and his sister know of.

In the first episode "Changes", it shows Dee Dee calling Dexter to get ready for school, however he is not in his room, thus she goes into his laboratory where he has finished an experiment that allow you to turn someone into a random animal. Dee Dee annoys Dexter and Dexter decides to try the experiment on Dee Dee and it works! Dee Dee gets angry at Dexter and they each try to get their hands onto the experiment and turn each other into animals, the first ever sign of their rivalry we have seen which will develop in future episodes!

Dexter's Laboratory, when it comes to graphics, does not suceed all the time, but the simple fun of watching immediately makes you realize that this show doesn't need great graphics to suceed. Usually, each episode lasts 6 minutes long. I find it amazing how the creators of the cartoon managed to make such a great episode in such a limited amount of time! Anyways, each episode has it's own pack of jokes and things that will make you laugh that it almost seems like the show is a comedy! Also, each episode has it's own moral that usually has to do with the story of the episode! A mix of the three things this cartoon is made of (a moral, comedy, and animation) suceeds greatly in this cartoon!

Each of the major (and quite a bit of minor) characters in the cartoon each have their own personality and style! Dexter is a genius, Dee Dee is a happy-go-lucky girl, Mandark is a genius who is Dexter's rival, Mom is Dexter and Dee Dee's mom who simply loves to clean, Dad is Dexter and Dee Dee's dad who simply loves to watch TV! The creators of Dexter's Laboratory have truly outdone themselves with the characters!

Dexter's Laboratory is an amazing cartoon that is plain simple fun, the creators of the cartoon didn't try to add anything extra, they knew that all we wanted is a cartoon like this! I recommend Dexter's Laboratory to everyone!

    The Bottom Line: "Superb"

This is the gutsy type of show America needs. It pulls no punches in its often times blunt delivery. In a world of political correctness, this is the shining light amid all the BS and pandering. Its approach may be extreme, and to some even borderline crude, but it has to be or else it doesn't work as effectively or as potent as it is meant. Aaron McGruder should be praised for having the pure gall to go against conventional society by showcasing such "controversial" material. And Adult Swim should be praised for supporting this show by airing it.

    The Bottom Line: "Superb"

Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks have teamed up to bring to life one of the most dramatic, vivid and purely audacious piece of film making for the 21st century. The presentation is superb. The music beautiful. The acting top notch. There is literally nothing to dislike about this series unless you are just a cold-hearted Communist. The fact that these stories are based on the actual events of the men in the 101st airborne lend the series even more credibility and power to an already outstanding and emotional series. Definitely a must-own if you consider to call yourself an American.

Stuck in an airport? No problem!

I was flying back from my vacation yesterday (it was great, thanks for asking) and had a long layover in the Denver airport. It wasn't supposed to be a long layover, but thanks to bad weather on the east coast, it ended up being pretty lengthy. Now, usually airport delays stink, but a few extra hours in Denver doesn't have to be a bad thing thanks to the numerous Zoox stations spread across the terminals.

What is Zoox? Yep, that was my question, too. It's a PC rig with a 23" widescreen monitor, gaming mouse, headphones, and controller that lets you kill time playing games like World of Warcraft, Team Fortress 2, Portal, Battlefield 2, Halo and more for 25 cents a minute (you can also browse the Internet for 10 cents a minute). That might seem like a hefty price, but it pummels sitting on the floor next to a bathroom while reading the business section from a newspaper that you found on the ground next to a trashcan.

I didn't spend any quality time playing on a Zoox machine (I had a nice dinner with my girlfriend), but the kiosks seemed busy and the folks who were grinding away in WoW seemed completely oblivious to the fact that they were surrounded by harried travelers and screaming babies. If that's not worth 25 cents a minute, I don't know what is.

QOD #166 Someone stop the world and let me off!!!

" If in one day, one hour, everything could be arranged at once. The chief thing is to love."

      Fyodor Dostoyevsky

I have posted that quote before. Another good quote would be from a Jewel song. "In the end only love matters."

     Black Friday.

Those of you who live in the States know what this day is. Perhaps, my international friends know of it to. But in case you don't: Black Friday is the day after the American holiday, Nov. 27th this year, Thanksgiving. It is the day when stores begin their Christmas shopping insanity. They have crazy sales on electronics, clothes, you name it. People get up early and go to the stores at 3 or 4 in morning for most stores. Some people will camp out overnight to be the first in the store to get their hands on that "great bargain."

This recent Black Friday is tainted with stories of death and violence.

I don't watch the news to often. Very seldom is there any story that is cheerful and uplifting. Recent news of the insanity in India saddens me. Local stories always talk about murders, rapes, robberies and the like. I just usually watch the weather forecast.

Friday night the top news was about a WalMart store employee in New York who was trampled to death. As the employee started to open the door, a huge crowd pushed forward, knocked the employee to ground, and then proceeded to walk over  him. Efforts where made by a few to help him, but the crowd was to large and they continued to walk on top of him. Medics tried to revive him but he died later.  When the WalMart store announced what had happened and that they were closing the store, customers become angry because, " I waited in line overnight. You can't tell me to leave."  WHAT?!  Do you not understand what has just happened?! What is wrong with people that they casually have no respect for their fellow man? Is a piece of merchandise more important than a human life?

Another news story reported that two men had shot each other to death in a Toys R' Us store. The reporter stated that the two men were fighting over a toy, took out guns, and then proceeded to shoot each other to death!!!

How much of the news is truth and how much is altered to get ratings? I don't know. But those were the stories.

      I weep for this world.

Hope all had a great week. Surround yourself with family and friends. Help your fellow man. And remember, THE CHIEF THING IS TO LOVE.
