    name: karlmeszaros

    my story:
Hi, I am an Excel/VBA programmer who lives in Calgary, Alberta, Canada with his lovely wife. My favorite TV shows are crime dramas and sports. My favorite current show in Numb3rs, which makes sense for a spreadsheet programmer! :) Currently, I'm watching lots of sports, mostly NCAA and NFL football! My other favorite current shows include Without A Trace, The Mentalist, Life, Bones, Law and Order, Monk and Psych. Sportswise, I enjoy NCAA and NFL football and NHL hockey and also Sunday Night Baseball with Jon Miller and Joe Morgan. I really enjoy this site because I have made some truly wonderful and lasting friendships here.

    • It's beginning to look at a lot like Christmas!

Hi everyone! I think this makes four blogs in15 days. That's got to be a personal record. We've been having lovely weather here in The heart if the New West. Today it was in the mid 40's and sunny. Normals for this time of the year are a high 32 (0C) and a low of 10 (-12C), so we've been blessed. There's next to no snow left also.I thought I would share a few pictures of our home as it is starting look Christmassy! The first one is a gorgeous wreath that one of my clients sent me. What a wonderful surprise! We've never had a nice wreath before, so it's now proudly hanging on our front door. This is our second Christmas tree. It's currently sitting in my office and is very bright! it has 100 lights on it, but could do with an ornament or two, so we'll have to see about that. This is... Read more »

    • Grey Cup Champions!!!

Hi Everyone, Well, I said that I would to provide an update on the game, but I figured I should just write a whole blog. Calgary won! We beat Montreal 22-14, in Montreal in front of 66,000+ fans! Despite only scoring one touchdown, our field goal kicker was 5/5 and the defense payed a terrific game. The only downer is that, in their infinite wisdom, city council hosted a civic reception instead of a parade. Here is quarterback and Grey Cup MVP Henry Burris with the trophy. He's a Temple grad. And this is our clutch field goal kicker Sandro DeAngelis. He was also named top Canadian in the game and is talking about trying out for the NFL next season. The Beauty of God's CreationThis is the beautiful Half Dome at Yosemite National Park in California.Quotes of the BlogFear is the path to... • Snow, Submissions, Thorns and Grey Cup Weekend

Hi everyone Greetings from snowy Calgary. It's not a lot of snow, but definitely enough, along with below freezing temperatures and wind chill to let us know winter had arrived. I enjoy snow. There's something very special about being outside at night and watching the snow come tumbling down amidst the silence. The only downside is that, being the man of the house, I get to shovel it all! But I guess every rose has its thorns. My Canadian friends will know that the big story in town is the Stampeders appearance in Sunday's Grey Cup Game in Montreal against the favored home-standing Alouettes. We haven't won a Grey Cup since 2001, so I hope it's our turn, although Montreal is a very good football team, so it will be a challenge. The Grey Cup is also the name of the... Read more »
