  • Pushing Daisies Cancellation

Some may be fuming after yesterdays visit to TV.com, where they found out there the fave TV show may not after all be renewed. Fans of Pushing Daisies, Dirty Sexy Money and Eli Stone will have nothing to look forward to come January.

ABC did not make a smart decision this time around, canceling three completely different shows, but all of which made their weekly lineup fun. Two of these shows happen to fall on Wednesday night. To ask ABC one question, what do you have left for Wednesday night. Private Practice which throughout most of this season had only a few more viewers than Pushing Daisies and Dirty Sexy Money. That does not seem fair. As a fan of PD myself I received the worst news possible yesterday. And like fans of a show canceled to soon, I would like to know why? Why PD when they didn't run an ad for it almost all season. Who's fault is that ABC. No one is going to tune if you don't run ads for it. Why PD when most networks have been struggling this year after the Writers Guild of America strike last season.

ABC had to make a choice, I am not arguing with that. There are shows they have had for almost 5 years, like Grey's Anatomy, which have won Emmy's. PD last year alone was nominated for 12, more than Greys and Ugly Betty combined. What seems fair about that? PD was said to be one the greatest TV shows in years, and they debuted with 13.7 million viewers last year. One little rough patch and see you later. Sometimes without risks in life, you will not go anywhere.

I lost a lot of respect for ABC as a prime time network and after January, they really have nothing to offer me anymore. They canceled one of two shows I tune into regularly, and probably the greatest show I have ever tuned into week in and week out. Thank you ABC for not taking a chance on show that got you 12 Emmy nominations just 3 months ago. Thank you ABC for not running ads and then giving up on it.

I must say thanks to Brian Fuller for creating magic for these past two seasons and I hope you get your comic book deal. Or maybe even a movie.

The Facts are these, ABC just canceled pure magic.

  • 5 Reasons the Cleaner should be brought back

In light of the season finale of the cleaner and the up-in-the air status it holds, I thought it would be fair to come up with five good reasons why this show should be brought back.

    1. Benjamin Bratt- He really got into this character. You could feel his pain, his abilities, his wants. all this can be attributed to the week in peformances by Ben Bratt. Nailed it without a doubt, flawless exacution of a character who is based off someone in real life. Definitley a performance worth tuning into watch every week. Ben is the main star of this show so it is essential that he is good, but he is better then good, he is flawless and perfect.

    2. Content- This show deals with content that is rarely explored on a TV program. Week in and week out it is all about addiction. Many people have addictions and dont even know. Maybe if they watched this show they would see it is a problem. Also it alllows us to watch something and be thankful for how easy our lives really are.

    3. Grace Park- Akani really is the one William counts on. She is the glue for his team, the one that will stop at nothing to get it done. There is a connection between Akani and William resulting in chemsitry even though Wiliam is married and has to kids. Grace really gets it done to be able to portray the connection that shouldnt, she is a woman with flare, with passion and all of those are what Grace gives this character

    4. Father son/ daughter relationship- Not all parents get along with their kids. They have it rough sometimes when there kids are growing up, especially when they are teenagers. This time around all William can do is hope he is doing his best. His Son Ben saw the evil down and out days, so he knows who easily it can happen. William tries to be the best he can, but like most junkies still has his temptations.

5.Higher Ratings each week- with the pilot this show got an average of 7.2/10. an average score at best, but still worthy of mention. But last nights episode a 9.8/10 meaning somewhere down the line this show did get better and is worth the watch.

  • Eye Opening Series

Ever so often there comes something that can really open out eyes to a world we would otherwise never know. Every so often we can say there was a series that moved us or made us cry. Sometimes we can say that it made us laugh. Ground breaking T.V happens now and then. Here is my top 5 series that really helped change the face of T.V

    5. The Cleaner- Its only 7 episodes in, yet it has alreadt dealt with so many issues that keep the audience interested in what it has to offer. It deals with drug use and parenting, and how the use of drugs can affect more than just one person. It takes addiction to whole new level on T.V

    4. Arrested Development- Only 53 episodes and it solidified itself as one of the grandest T.V comedies to ever grace our screen. It features characters who have little to no morals and the comedic situations they find themselves in.

    3. The simpsons- Debuted back in 1989. They were a huge it, is it safe to say that noone saw them lasting almost 20 years. They arent as funny as they used to be, but they continue to get the viwers so they must be doing something right.

    2. CSI- Opened up our eyes to the world of crime scenes and the work it takes to deal with them. It shows us that team work pays off. Intelligence can get us a long way, and sometimes they deal wth some really odd balls. Great show, definitley different

To my adoring readers(Hopefully I get some) here is my number one. You may say im baised, but I have an explanation

    1. Pushing Daisies- This show makes us believe in the impossible. It shows people that true love can happen just like that. It shows that there is more to love then just a phyiscal relationship. It deals with crime solving, in an innovative but funny way. Love is what we want it to be, its whatever we imagine it to be. Sometimes we just have to let our selves fall in love.

So being this is a count down and yet still just for the fun, I would like to add some quotes from some of the TV shows that I have just mentioned. So here goes.

From Arrested Development. I would like to first apologize if anyone finds this quote insulting

Michael: Gob, I'm going to need you to sneak Mom out of rehab.
Gob: Gee, I didn't think the woman I'd be checking out at Spring Break would be Mom.
Buster: She's better than the whores you date.
Gob: Don't call my escorts whores.
    Buster: Mom's still got it!
    Gob: I don't date whores!
Lindsay: Stop it, both of you! This objectification of women has got to stop!
Michael: It's just Mom and whores.

    From Pushing Daisies

Ned: Everything we do is a choice. Oatmeal or cereal, highway or sidestreets, kiss her or keep her.We make choices, and we live with consequences. If someone gets hurt along the way, we ask for forgiveness, it's the best anyone can do

From The simpsons.I will apologize again for any offences

Otto: [both stoned; watching "The Three Stooges"] Hey, "Shemp" spelled backwards is "Hemp"!
    [laughs]
Homer Simpson: And Otto spelled backwards is "Otto"!
    [laughs]
    Otto: Now I'm scared.

There is my newest blog. I hope people enjoy it and feel free to contest any of my ideas

  • Excited for the Fall

With the T.V schedule being thrown out the window last fall due to the writers strike, we lost alot of our fave shows for the entire season. We even saw some of the new shows fail to get renewed. With all the negativity that surrounded last years season, is it safe to say that this year T.v is going to be back on track and be that much better. In one word :YES!!!. There are so many shows worth watching this fall. Mad Men, Pushing Daisies, CSI, The Office, just to name a few. If there is anyone questioning the ability of this upcoming season, I say throw it out the window and join the buzz, because as of this week it is at a fever pitch. They have just announced the time slots and it seems to be staying the same. It is going to be a good year, so lets just wait until October and see when our fave shows will hit the air once again.

  • Pushing Daisies Is a hit. Daisies rejuvenates tv for me.

Pushing Daisies has been the hit tv show I needed to fall back in love with watching a T.V Program week in and week out. Sure we have the CSI's but Daisies just gets me buzzing, gets me excited and gets me talking about tv and how much I cant wait for Wedensday nights. Daisies has really been supernatural and excellent. Lee Pace had sky rocketed on my fave actors list. The last time I felt so mucg Fun watching T.v was when General Hospital debuted Damien Spinelli. Spinelli and Ned or two awesome charcters that I will never get enough of. Cannot wait for the fall so I can get more Daisies
