MY REVIEWS

  • show: Band of Brothers

    episode: Why We Fight

    The Bottom Line: "Superb"

A great episode where Easy company discovers a concentration camp. This not only showed how human the soilders were with there reaction to what they descovered but how truely evil the Nazi party and Hitler were. It blows my mind everytime i think about how they could beleive this was truely the right thing to due. Easy is forced into a situation here that could be as mentally challenging as many of them faced at the Battle of the Bulge during countless shellings, especially after they had to keep the prisoners in the camp in order to get them healthy in the long run as eating to quik could have killed them. This episode is ecxactly why everyone should watch this entire series as well as some others about this time. As some suggested with Shindler's list, some people may need some klenex's nearby as some images are desturbing. I would advise parents watching before allowing there kids in order to decide if it right for there own children.

    The Bottom Line: "Perfect"

The story of the 101st Airborne 506th Easy company is absolutly amazing and is a testiment to the men that served in World War II. They have the actuall men of Easy company speaking of what it was really like at the begining of each episode and is told through the eyes of the real men. The acting is great, pertraying not just what the men were like as soilders, but also how they interact with the guys that became freinds for life. There attitudes, thoughts, and actions seem to be on par with how the real men responded in this trying time in World History in which these men responded. I have always been a fan of Stephen E. Ambross' writing especially his book on the European Theatre of WWII. A show that gives true justice to some of Americas heroes.

    The Bottom Line: "Mediocre"

I do not understand why Kefier actually decided to sign on to this. The animation is absolutly hidious, especially for a show of this manner. If you are going to attemp to make 24 into an animation you most take into account what it really is. Also, in the "first episode" (i do not know if you can call them episodes because they are about 2 and a half minutes in lenght, supposidly covering about three to four minutes in real time) jack succesfully reboots a computer in safe mode and downloads a file onto a flash drive with less then 50 seconds left on a remote bomb. At that point i knew this was a waste of time and for some reason continued to see if it would get any better. It does not even explain much new information from what we already learned from the show, i wouldn't suggest watching this waste of time, but that is your own decision.

    The Bottom Line: "Great"

I love the show and recently fox has done no wrong. I've been intrigued by this show more than most cops shows, but just a little less than the sheild. I like some of the issues it tackles, the actors, especially Anthony Anderson as he finally gets to be the good guy, and how it highlights katrina and keeps new orleans on the minds of people across america. i am intrigued and will continue to watch but hope that the series will fix some time constrint issues. Most important of which is how Cobb is already a detective after breaking out of prison and serving as a ranger. if he only signed a contract for two years this makes some more sense, but to already go through the academy. Others are how fast the swat team arived at the airport when we just saw them on the other side of town. We have seen however the show tackle some important issues in NO including corruption, the status people moving back and the status of the ninth ward. Im excited to continue watching and see how the show improves

    episode: Waldorf Salad

    The Bottom Line: "Great"

While we get to see very little of Polly and Manuel; Sybil and Basil deliver perfectly on this episode. its always nice to have Polly and Manuel involved because they add another layer of comedy, but with John Cleese you can not go wrong. After taking a bribe to keep the chef on for a nother half hour, Basil decides he doesn't want to pay and tries to cook on his own. There is great scene where Basil convinces the americain to simply have a green saled, sybil brings out a perfect waldurf and green salad, and then basil brings out two more green salad and is absolutly amazed. more comedy comes out when Basil atempts to kick out all the guest then realizes it is in fact him who is not wanted there. john cleese is a comic god.
