Alternate Realities and Alter Egos
Howdy folks,
More than a year and a half after joining TV.com I'm making my first blog post. Actualy, I first signed up with tvtome a few years ago, but I never followed up with my membership... too many other things to do. Since TV.com bought out tvtome (long back), I'm not quite sure where/when exactly my membership originated... anyway, to the subject of this post...
Usually I'm a pretty agreeable guy, but sometimes I find myself wanting to b!tchslap some people who post to the various forums I enjoy participating in. Whether the offense is POSTING IN ALL CAPS, being generaly stupid, reviving dead threads, posting inaccuracies, etc... sometimes I feal compeled to call the offending poster out on the carpet for the offense. The flip side of this is that I have pathological fear of being disliked, and sometimes the poster who needs to be b!tchslapped is someone I usually like/respect. To that end I have created several Alter Egos here at TV.com (and other sites) that I occasionaly employ to "do the dirty work" for me.
Recently the idea has occured to me to "flush out" one of my alter egos, kind of as an alternate reality version of... Me, (Bender)! [stupid side joke for the other Futurama fans out there]. I've never really been interested in levels and editorships and the other minutia involved in being a member of TV.com, but a funny idea (to me anyway) struck me... what if one of my alter egos were to become an editor? It wouldn't really matter what show or which person... just the fact that an alter ego would be one of the TV.com elite would give me a chuckle.
So, with all of the above in mind (if you bothered to read it... and it doesn't really matter if you did) what are your suggestions for ramping up points/levels to the point of editorship? Should I choose a minor player in a show I enjoy and just flood that person's page with submissions? Should I look for a show that I watch that is "behind the times" as far as episode submission? Is there something else I should target?
Thanks for reading this. Your comments will be appreciated. This is likely my last blog post, but it was fun while it lasted.
P.S. If you think you know who my alter egos are, PM me! I promise I'll let you know if you're right.

Kim Possible Grande Size Me Avg Score: 7.24 Total Ratings: 56 Total Reviews: 11 Users who agree: 1 Users who disagree: 1 |
When Ron has to take a freshman health class he becomes convinced there's a conspiracy to corrupt impressionable young minds because Mr. Barkin tells the students that Bueno Nacho is unhealthy. When Ron finds himself constantly bombarded by talk of healthy eating he takes it upon himself to counteract the conspiracy by making a documentary about how healthy he is as a result of eating nothing but Grande Sized Bueno Nacho meals (a la "Super Size Me"). Predictably, as Ron's weight steadily increases his general health steadily declines to the point where he falls asleep in class, has trouble catching his breath and becomes mentally slower.
When Kim and Ron infiltrate Hencho to stop an auction of the latest super weapon, the Molecular Transducer, Ron's extra weight causes him to fall through an air duct into a vat of butterscotch flavored mutation agent named Project Titan. Ron’s "dumb skill" takes a hand as the gathered villains surround Ron to henpeck him about his weight and they are sufficiently distracted for Kim to grab the Molecular Transducer and make a getaway.
Unfortunately for Ron the poor quality of food available at Bueno Nacho is exactly what Project Titan needs to start taking effect. He starts growing larger, not just in waist size but in height as well, and his attitude worsens to the point where he becomes completely out of character by being rude to Kim and mean to children. As Kim is delivering the Molecular Transducer to Global Justice, Ron eats his final Naco. The Naco tips the balance and gives Project Titan what it needs to complete Ron's mutation into a giant scabby stupid eating machine and he goes on a rampage to find more unhealthy food.
(Copout alert!) Ron's new giant size adds to his "dumb skill" as his rampage inadvertently interferes with the villains who are all chasing Kim to try to steal the Molecular Transducer. The episode reaches it climax as Kim and the Tweebs chase Ron through a mini golf course shooting a variety of healthy foods into his mouth. The healthy food has the desired effect and Ron is inexplicably transformed back to his former self, even shedding the extra weight he had gained prior to falling into the Project Titan mutation goo. Ron learns his lesson and everything is back to normal.
Bleckh.
The only redeeming qualities of this episode (entertainment wise) were some clever dialogue, and a few cute visual gags. Clever dialogue and visual gags are to be expected from any episode of KP, and in this one they were few and far between - certainly not enough to save the episode. It's a sad indication of quality that the only line that made me laugh out loud was "Ron smash!"

Shego's the Girl the Guys Want
After seeing the way most of the guys act towards Shego, I had to make this video for her!! In a way, it could also be looked at as a Ron/Shego video!
