This show became a favourite of mine from the pilot, and has continued to impress me more every week. There are many great things about the show, but something that I feel deserves a special mention is the fantastic cast. I think that the casting was done perfectly and the actors portray the characters in such a way that makes them really "audience friendly" which is refreshing when compared with similar shows in this genre. Krause in particular has made the character his own and the relationship with his on-screen clients, the Darling family, is touching and hilarious at the same time.

I love how the storyline seems to wrap itself up in each episode, then come the ending, there is another unforeseen twist which just makes me want to watch the next episode as soon as possible! The introduction of new characters into the continuing storyline (Simon, Natalie etc) blends really well with the sub-plots going in on each episode, and make the show that bit more special. I can't praise this show enough, I hope it continues to impress as the season goes on.

After seeing numerous trailers for RR, I decided to tune in for the pilot episode just to see if it was worth all the hype. I was pleasantly surprised. Yes, everything about it is tacky and over-the-top, but that's exactly how it's supposed to be, and the show makes no apologies for it. With more than a couple of similarities to past ITV favourite "Footballer's Wives", the show revolves around a fictional TV talent show called "Rock Rivals" and the trials and tribulations of both the panel judges and the contestants. Michelle Collins is brilliantly cast as the polished Karina Faith, one of the panel judges, with Sean Gallagher is cast alongside her as fellow judge and husband, Mal Faith. The interaction between the two characters is humorous with their dialogue dripping with innuendo and sarcasm. Although it may be early days in the series, I am thoroughly enjoying it so far and will continue to tune in as long as the writing remains as entertaining as it has been so far. Good fun.

From the moment this episode started, I knew it was going to be a winner. Personally, I really enjoy the episodes associated with vampire lore because I always think that they are well written and well executed - Fresh Blood being no exception to this. The different approach in this episode (Sam and Dean dealing with a vampire that was turning others without them knowing it) was really gripping and it was refreshing to see this approach as opposed to usual "Oh no I've been bitten" view which has been overdone. Even if Gordon hadn't featured in this episode, I'm sure it would have been a success but as soon as I saw Gordon was back in the hunting game then I knew for certain something spectacualr was going to happen. And boy was I right! The twist involving Gordon and Dixon (the vampire responsible for turning the girls) was amazing. I'm at a loss on how to describe it, it was so good. Adding to that, the final fight scene between the guys and Gordon was amazing, Jared Padalecki really came into his own in that scene.

Overall I thought this was an amazing episode, great dialogue as usual plus a twist that blew everything else out of the water. Amazing.

In my review for Red Sky At Morning (I know, I went backwards!) I said that it was the weakest of the Season but upon watching this episode again, I would name this episode as the weakest so far. It's not badly written or acted, and as I mentioned before, the lore in this episode is really pretty interesting. It's just in comparison to the rest of the episodes, it doesn't quite stand out as much for me. The storyline is centred upon well-known fairytale lore and I find that aspect really interesting, it certainly keeps the viewer intrigued. There are also some really good comedic moments in this episode which add that special something. I can't really explain what let it down for me - possibly the way that the fairytale stuff ended - it was over way too conveniently for my liking! The scene at the end of the episode made up slightly for any previous disappointment though, I loved the dialogue between Sam and the Crossroads Demon - it was witty and fast paced and brilliantly executed. Overall, a good entertaining episode but lacking any staying power.

Dark Angel
The Berrisford Agenda

This is one of my favourite episodes from the second season of Dark Angel. I absolutely adore the dialogue between all of the characters at the dinner party scene at Joshua's house. The conversation between Logan and Joshua made me laugh out loud, and I loved Kevin Durand's (Joshua) comic timing - absolute genius. It provided a welcome light-hearted introduction to this episode which is deceiving as to the main content, which is altogether darker and more serious.

It is the first episode where the audience gets the chance to learn a little more about Alec's past, and it is extremely well executed. There are a lot of flashback sequences detailing his undercover mission into the Berrisford's home, and, although I'm not usually a fan of such sequences, it really added to the storyline in this case. We got to see an entirely different side to Alec, a softer and more caring side, which helped to deepen his character and make the audience empathic towards him. Overall, a well written and brilliantly executed episode which familiarised the audience to the characters. Excellent story, excellent acting.
