Spellingg Bee
Avg Score: 8.84    Total Ratings: 301    Total Reviews: 21
Spellingg Bee is my favorite episode of Psych. During their second case, Shawn and Gus investigate the untimely death of a spelling bee spel master. In the process, we earn that Shawn derailed Gus's childhood dream of becoming a spelling bee champ. More about the comedy than the case, Spellingg Bee delivers some of the most quotable lines from Psych. The episode also introduces Det. Juliet O'Hara. Both foil and love interest, the chemistry and comedic timing between the the Shawn and Juliet characters is great.

This episode was top writing for Psych, Roday and Hill give great comedic performances...and bananas.

Band of Brothers
Avg Score: 8.67    Total Ratings: 2740    Total Reviews: 110
Curahee!!!! This was the war cry of Easy Company, an elite group of Airborne soldiers in the 101st Airborne. Band of Brothers follows the soldiers of Easy Company from their basic training as airborne rangers at Camp Taccoa to D-Day through the end of the war in Europe. The story centers on Richard Winters, the otherwise peaceful farmboy from Pennsylvania whose leadership, courage and tactical brilliance offer a bright point in the desperation of war. The direction and writing are outstanding. The producers/writers/directors offer a stark look at the sacrifices made by the men of Easy Company and their own human frailties and nobility during the horror of war. Heroes are brought to life and made human. Damien Lewis and Ron Livingston deliver impeccable performances as Winters and his truest friend, Lewis Nixon. Truly outstanding adaptation of the book by Stephen Ambrose.

The Amazing Race

A race around the world. It's a great concept for a reality show. And, the concept has kept the show honest. When other reality shows seem to be more and more scripted to please the viewers, the Amazing Race stays true to the concept -- it's a race, pure and simple. Teams compete in different physical and mental challenges, racing from point to point around the globe to see which team can make it through the entire race without being eliminated. Friends, family members, fiancees, spouses, and paramours try to outmsmart out muscle and outrun the other teams. The dynamic of the show also feeds the reality addiction by showing what the stress of the challenges has on friendships, family ties and romantic relationships -- in the process showing how strong the relaitonship really is. A great reality fix without the growing unreality of reality tv.

Boston Legal

Crane, Poole, and Schmidt, a "wacky" law firm, serve as the backdrop for a legal drama that brings true heart to the screen. A spin-off of The Practice, Boston Legal stars David Spade who repirses his role as Alan Shore. Shore, an ethically challenged lawyer with a heart of gold, stumbles through bizarre and abject romantic life while succeeding with a velvet tongue in the court room. Shore's only ally at the firm is the aging senior partner Denny Crane (that's right, Denny Crane). Played by William Shatner, Crane was once the best trial attorney around. Now, the aging partner, who suffers from his own brand of depravity, faces senility. The writing is amazing. Although they should be two unlikeable characters, Crane and Shore prove to be complex and likable. William Shatner and David Spade give superb performances and make the show!

Based on David McCullough's definitive biography of John Adams, the HBO mini-series of the same name follows Adams's rise to political prominence from his humble beginnings as the son of a farmer and Boston lawyer to the Founding Father and second President. The story opens with the events surrounding of the Boston Massacre. After the massacre, Adams is chosen by the Royal Governor to defend the British soldiers accused of murdering colonial civilians without provocation. This opening not only tells a fascinating story from America's founding, it also sets the stage for the man John Adams was. His sense of duty to the law, his patriotism, and his personal ambition shine through with great detail. We also see the brightest sides of Adams's nobility contrasted against his stubborn and arrogant tendencies. The writers use these traits well as they tell the story of Adams as delegate to the Continental Congress and America's ambassador in Europe. In short, John Adams provides a very human account of a Foudning Father.
