The Bottom Line: "Good"
I thought this episode was good, but definitely not worth a 10/10 score. It picked up from last season's events... peciliarly.
I can't decide whether I thought the first scene was of any significane or not. To me, it seemed obvious that Lucas would end up with Peyton, and it just seemed like a way to fill time for five minutes, and keep the audience guessing.
This, however, couldn't be a case of filling time, as I think the entire episode was completely rushed through, trying to set the foundations of a new season.
A lot of the scenes felt rushed, and we were jumping back and forth between different storylines. This sort of made everything feel abnormal and less like a One Tree Hill episode, and more like... a fan fic or something.
I found the Nanny/Dan storyline extremely weird and borderline Passions-esque. Nathan & Haley didn't seem to provide much significane to the episode at all, except that we're not led to believe that their marriage is fixed, I guess.
The Lucas/Peyton storyline was totally predictable; as if One Tree Hill would ever have a couple get married and not make an entire episode about it.
Brooke's storyline was probably the best, and most important. I hate that everything is going wrong for her, but obviously that's what keeps me watching, right? Hopefully she beats her Mum out of her company thingy.
The Millicent/Mouth storyline was boring as. I hope they're gone for now, as I think both characters have served their purpose on the show.
As for Skills and Deb, that just felt totally out of place to me.
I think the show was trying to focus on way too many things at once, and the episode, consequently, was jumpy and a little fruity. It was a good episode, and covered a lot of ground, but I'm just trying to express that I could not agree less with users who have rated this episode 10/10.
Side Note: I loved the Coldplay soundtrack in this episode. They used some of their greatest new songs. :)
