Great
Survivor
Dire Straights and Dead Weight
"Above average"
One of the four tribes does the unthinkable!
In this, the second of the Cook Islands season, things start to get interesting with the tribes with people butting heads and such. Jonathan returns from Exile Island to a warm response but almost immediately butts heads with one of the younger tribemates over the shelter's make-up. This could make for some interesting eps down the line....

However, two things dominate this episode overall. First, Yul , upon his arrival at Exile Island, deciphers the clues and finds the Hidden Immunity Idol! Hopefully, he'll keep this discovery to himself or at least use it at some point this year.

The other item that dominated this episode is the decision by Aitu to throw an immunity challenge so they can vote out Billy. This was done in such an obvious manner during the challenge that it even looked like they were trying to shake the rope bridge they were on to make Billy fall off! Pretty nasty stuff, to say the least.....

All in all, a very strong episode for early in the season. This reviewer hopes things stay this good as the season unfolds.

Rocket Robin Hood
Dementia Five
"Series classic"
One of the best episodes of the series!
For this reviewer, the episodes for Rocket Robin Hood tend to vary widely in quality and the plots and imagery were fairly bland. However, Dementia 5 is one ep that many viewers of this series remember long after it was broadcast.

The basic premise of this episode is that Rocket Robin Hood and Little John journey to a nightmare dimension to stop galaxies from being destroyed by a malevolent force.

With backgrounds and scenes that were truly imaginative ( the scene where Robin/Little John gets pulled into the void by a hand stands out in particular), this is one ep that this reviewer could watch many times.

Good
Jericho
Pilot
"Pilot episode"
Solid beginning to the series!!!
The beginning episode to Jericho unfolded in a rather predictable manner but it's the characters that are shown that will make or break this show.

The show will revolve, it seems, around the character of Jake and he is shown to be a heroic, though with flaws, character. The other characters in Jericho are given less air time but a few seem interesting to say the least.

The one danger with a show like this is how to keep it believable and entertaining at the same time. Judging from this first episode, this reviewer believes they have the right mix as long as they avoid too many cliche driven scenarios.

Good start!!!

Survivor
I Can Forgive Her But I Don't Have to Because She Screwed With My Chickens
"Above average"
A solid start to this version of Survivor.
With all the controversy surrounding the fact that this year's castaways would be separated along ethnic lines, this reviewer approached this episode with a little curiosity how it would play out. As it turns out, there was nothing out of the ordinary with a familiar beginning of a season ( castaways overboard with what they can scavenge) followed by quick glimpses of each tribe's personalities and such. With 20 players, it's gonna take a while to see who are the 'players' though the woman with 'Roller Girl' displayed next to her name probably won't be one in the long run.

Overall, a good start to the season....Exile Island is in play again this year and looks even more foreboding than before ( a decided lack of trees on it, to say the least).

Outrigger Race/ School Bus Demo Derby
"Fine example"
If the series ends here, it ended with a bang..!!!
In this episode, the final episode for Season 2, the final two races are held to determine who wins $50,000. It's nice to see that the attitudes and determination seen by the reviewer throughout this season are evident in this episode. One moment in particular stands out: told by Chuck that his car modifications are illegal, Fordzilla throws a fit and destroys a car in a nearby junkyard to vent his rage.

This reviewer won't mention who won the penultimate races in this ep though it won't surprise someone who carefully watches the preparations. Nevertheless, this episode was great fun to watch and if it is the last episode of the series (as it has been rumored), it goes out consistent with its message of destruction and energy unchanged. If the show is not reviewed by the host network, this reviewer can only hope that it is picked up by a network willing to promote episodes such as this a bit better.
