Curb Your Enthusiasm The TiVo Guy Avg Score: 9.03 Total Ratings: 74 Total Reviews: 6 Users who agree: 1 Users who disagree: 1 |
I am a fan of the new series and I think there has been some gold in recent episodes!
I have to wonder though whether the gap between 'Screen Larry' and 'Real Larry' is actually closing as Cheryl leaving him in this episode mirrors David's reported personal life. Specualtion is difficult, but there were hints in the episode that it was a temporary situation so we will have to see whether Larry and Cheryl can weather the storm.
Another notable moment in this episode was the appearance of Broken Lizard's Kevin Heffernan as the 'Tivo Guy'. Kevin is teh second Lizard to appear in Curb after Erik Stolhanske appeared as Sven in 'The 5 Wood' episode. It was a real coincidence seeing him on the episode after having enjoyed 'Super Troopers' again a few days previously!
Credit is also due to Lucy Lawless who was written in most obscurely, but played her part brilliantly and once again left us wondering how Larry does it?!!

Family Guy Blue Harvest Avg Score: 8.78 Total Ratings: 608 Total Reviews: 91 Users who agree: 1 |
Any fan of Family Guy will know that the most referenced thing in the show is Star Wars and as such this episode was a given! Definately a strong contender for my favourite ever episode of Family Guy, they manage to get all the best bits from 'A New Hope' and satirise brilliantly, not to mention condense very well too. It's just in small references like 'Dont get Cocky Kid' after the TIE Fighter dogfight and 'Cover me Porkins' when assaulting the Death Star, that they manage to exploit the comedy that had blatant potential in the movie! Obviously this episode might be wasted on non Star Wars fans but I cant even remember the last time an episode made me laugh throughout the entire duration! Roll on the remainder of the series!!

Outnumbered (UK) Avg Score: 8.41 Total Ratings: 13 Total Reviews: 1 Users who agree: 1 |
I was first drawn to watch this show as Hugh Dennis was attached and after his impossibly brilliant portrayal of Dr. Piers Crispin in 'My Hero' (might i add the saving grace of that programme) and his regularly hilarious appearances on 'Mock The Week', the concept of him starring in a part-improvised Sitcom (without canned laughter) seemed too good to be true. Indeed the idea of an improvised script (poosibly borrowed from HBO's 'Curb Your Enthusiasm') which involved children, brought a new twist!
Upon watching the series my expectations were totally surpassed. Not only does it appear that this programme could have been filmed around a real-life family, but Hugh Dennis (Pete) and Clare Skinner (Sue) are quite possibly outdone by Ramona Marquez (Karen) and Daniel Roche (Ben), two young actors who have potentially good careers ahead of them! From Ben's calling his dad a stranger in public to Karen's toy version of panel-based reality-tv competitions, every episode had me in fits of laughter, which isn;t detracted upon repeat viewings!!
This truely is the British sitcom gem that we have been waiting for and all we can do now is play the waiting game for series 2!!

Curb Your Enthusiasm Krazee-Eyez Killa Avg Score: 9.54 Total Ratings: 88 Total Reviews: 3 Users who disagree: 1 |
This episode ranks in the top 5 of all Curbs next to 'The Grand Opening' and 'Opening Night'. Chris Williams brings forward one of the best supporting characters in the form of 'Krazee Eyez' and any of his scenes with Larry - particularly 'Krazee's Crib' have the power of reducing you to tears!! Absolute Gold!
