life changing news

There have been several changes going on in my life as of late. First of all, Sara--my only child--has left for college this week. I really miss her and with the school being only 45 minutes away, I wish she had commuted and lived at home. Speaking of which, we just bought a house which is about 30 minutes from where we live now. Which means that I am having to find another job. Easier said than done !!! Plus, I've been at this current job for over 5 years, so changing is scary for me. But, it's more practical where we are now because it's closer to my husband's work (and he makes more $$$ than me) and closer to my school. But I told him that I draw the line at switching churches--for now anyway.

The new Batman movie

My family and I went to see the midnight showing of "The Dark Night" last night. It was a really good movie. There were people at the theater that was even dressed like the Joker. That was really creepy, but it showed some dedicated fans. Heath Ledger did a really good job as the Joker. I hope that he gets nominated for this role. Even if he did die, he deserves it. I would recommend this movie to anyone, even if they're not a Batman fan. I definitely plan to see it again

Story of animal abuse

I was reading the newspaper yesterday and saw a story in there that really pissed me off. There was this teenager that lured the neighbor's cat into his house with a can of tuna, then stabbed it to death! Right now, he's being charged with animal cruelty and his mother is trying to say that he was "hearing voices" in his head telling him to kill the cat. That is such crap. I have two cats of my own and they are like two more children to me. That cat was someone's pet; someone's baby. There needs to be tougher laws on this matter, then maybe people won't do it anymore. Either way, I believe that there is a special place in Hell for this kid and for kids like him

I loved this episode! First of all, Bill, Isabeau, Julie and Hollie weren't even chosen to be on teams and was formed a team of "underdog". Not to mention that Neil tried to destroy the black team by "gaining" 16 pounds so that a black team member would be eliminated. But, karma bit Neil in the behind tonight. As soon as he hit below the yellow line, I knew that he was toast. I also loved how when Isabeau was talking about why she cast her vote, she stated how she could "forgive, but not forget" and what he did to Jez and tried to do to her. Maybe, this will be a lesson to future Biggest Loser players

I really enjoyed watching this episode, especially the performances by Christopher Meloni and Diane Neal. In both instances, you can see how they are getting involved emotionally with the case. An example was when Elliot told Melissa Joan Hart's husband that he needed to forgive her and he decided not to press charges against him to show him forgiveness. Also how Casey got physical with that one guy after Shane was raped. But what was really sad was at the end that Shane was given one million dollars for filing a lawsuit against the treatment center and MJH,who was the real victim, got nothing. Talk about life not being fair :-(

I love Kelly Clarkson. I didn't see her during her stint on American Idol, so my opinion is strictly independant of AI. I saw her in concert two years ago and she was really great. She is one of those that when you see her perform, you do NOT forget it. She also seems like a real person and I'm really glad to see that she hasn't become another Brittany Spears or Lindsay Lohan. Her music is great too. You can really feel what she's trying to convey in her songs and can see yourself in some of the lyrics. I hope that she will be a performer that last for generations to come.

I still remember the first time I have ever seen Patrick Dempsey. It is still one of my all time favorite all time movies, "Can't buy me love." In this, Patrick played nerd Ronald Miller who paid a cheerleader to date him. What was even funnier was that she thought his name was Donald. This was one of his best performance. I have really loved seeing him evolve into the character of Derek Shepard in Grey's Anatomy. He has really change both in his acting and his looks. With how much he has evolved over the last 20 years, I can't wait to see how great of an actor he will be 20 years from now. He will probably be the next Sean Connery.

6 Finalists Remain When The Voting Results Are Revealed

I know that Sanjaya wasn't well liked by most American Idol fans. He was one of those performers that marched to his own drummer and people didn't "get" him. I think the week he donned a mohawk, he was ridiculous and should have been voted off then. The last two weeks, he actually was really good. I did feel sorry for Sanjaya tonight when he was crying. In hindsight, he wasn't really that bad. I think that he was one of those that his age and immaturity was a factor. He just needs more experience and training to get to the caliber as some of the others.

About Me

mstheresa1969
I'm happily married to a wonderful man who worked for the air force and has spent time in Iraq. I have a beautiful and smart, but very stubborn, 17 year old whom I love very much. I work at a local Dairy Queen, but I also work as a substitute with the local school district and am looking at going back to college to obtain my teaching degree. American Idol, Grey's Anatomy and The Amazing Race are like heroin to me. Other shows I like are Scrubs, The Apprentice, The Biggest Loser, That 70's show, Days of our lives and all the Law and Order series...except trial by jury
