Things are Moving Up...

Well after a few days I have moved from Level 1 33% to Level 1 78%. Yes, perhaps I can edit those TV.com shows that I have been assigned as editor again soon!

I have a swag of info to put up for Special Squad (having recently ogtained a missing episode from O/S) and need to update the Bluey and Bellamy guides as these have been static for too long.

I realised the other day that the eps I have of Bluey are edited! Each are supposed to be 50m long (or thereabouts) but CH7 (Melb,OZ) in their wisdom last time they screened them in about 1992, cut them to 45 minutes in length to fit in more ads. Who knows perhaps a DVD of the series will appear soon? With the amount of Aussie stuff coming out on DVD, surely this Crawfords show will be included?

Fans of OZ TV, stay tuned, my updates will appear soon...

What is it with Levels anyway?

Having used the previous site (tvtome) for getting succinct information in short time, the transformation is a little messy!

Now I find that I have to get to a certain level BEFORE I can edit the guides that I had previously edited with no problem on the other site!!

An interesting concept, but ultimately one that will prevent the casual browser from effectively using the site by making contributions.

I am currently listed as "weatherman". Maybe this will elevate by the end of the year? As they say on television: "Don't trust the weatherman!!!"

Legacy of the Silver Shadow

Although a little cheesy at times, this live action TV series (produced in Melbourne, Australia) is a great action adventure for kids.

Centred around a group of school kids, they stumble on the hidden lair of the 1950s crimefighter - The Silver Shadow - who now no longer exists. Through contact with the computer programmed with the ex-crimefighter personality, he introduces the kids to crimefighting. In the process, the Shadow's old arch enemy "The Crab" (who now is in a retirement village) has recruited his grand niece to reclaim his evil empire. The Shadow's recruits must face this mastermind and bring him to justice for apparently destroying "The Shadow".

A great show, with some very believeable effects. The Shadowmobile (modelled on a VW Beetle) and the opening scenes with the gang in slow-motion approaching the camera and very batman-esque. The Silver Shadow is played by Tayler Kane (from "Fire" and "The Dish") and there are a few surprise guest appearances from other Aussie actors.

This is probably the best episode of the first part of the series. When a crim escapes he stands off the squad in an amusement park! Despite the fact the park is empty, it certainly holds for great entertainment! John Stanton and Tim Elston are true to form and the ensuing gun battle puts other shows of the time to shame.

Located in Melbourne, Australia, I have a long time appreciation of OZ (and UK) TV shows and have a collection of quite a few. SF, Drama (not Soaps) and Action/Adventure are the primary interest areas. Also TV/film musical soundtracks (scores), and film and TV production.
