Really the only thing I remember about this episode is Bobby Dawson being so totally hott. I like Bobby Dawson and up until this point of the season had been disappointed with not seeing him. Now he's been in an episode so YAY!!!
What I found funny about this episode was the fact that Grissom, merely two episodes ago, had told Warrick that he was the rock of the team. Jump forward to this episode and Warrick is the first one ready to join the mutiny against Catherine and Keppler. Those are certainly attributes *I* would look for when choosing the rock of the team.
Even without Grissom there was GSR. The gift Sara received is intriguing and what makes it even more intriguing is the fact that there was no note. Also the fact that Sara knew where the key was in Grissom's office made me smile. I don't know why, it just did...
Though Liev Schreiber knows how to wear a suit I'm rather indifferent to his character. He seems to be stepping on all the wrong toes. The reverse forensics was a good idea in theory but Catherine should have realized that the other CSIs would figure it out.
Hodges scenes provided some amount of comic relief in another episode without Grissom. Overall the episode was quite good but not even Keppler in a suit can make me forget about Grissom. Le sigh...

Am I the only one who is hoping the season finale will be a musical? I remember Jorja Fox once saying that she would like to see a musical episode and this season has been so musical! First there was D-Rob singing, then we had Hodges dancing, and now we have Nick singing! Just me then? Oh... George Eads can sing though.
Hodges was the funniest tonight with his story. Hodges is becoming the greatest lab tech since Greg, Archie, and Bobby Dawson (where are you Bobby Dawson, I miss you soooooooooooooo!!). Brass also continues to be Brass and witty and yeah... I just love me some Brass.
Should probably talk about the case. Interesting enough... Yep, that about covers it.
The end scene was really interesting. Yes, the episode lacked a large amount of Sara (but lets hope she'll be in an episode coming up) but it was interesting. Yes, I think we can now all assume that Grissom and Sara are living together but there's something more to be found in that scene. Grissom has been given an opportunity to leave for a while and I think we really have to think how this will affect the relationship. Obviously not everything is sunshine, lollipops, and rainbows but the season is young. I'm just really enjoying the latest season and will continue to see where it leads.

This episode didn't have a lot of competition to be classed as a good season opener (Bodies In Motion does not count as competition). Even without its competition it was actually a good episode. The case was strong both at Cirque du Soleil and at Sam Braun’s party, John Mayer was grande, Sara and Grissom still appear to be in a relationship, Brass still rocks, and it ended with something only slightly shocking.
Seeing Cirque du Soleil in the episode brings with it the regret that I didn't go and see it when I was in Vegas. The case that it brought up was good but I can't actually remember that much about it... The case involving Sam Braun was interesting. Sara's "my supervisor" scene made me laugh as did the veggie burger scene. I liked when Brass made fun of Sam, alluding the many other episodes where he always seems to be involved with bodies. John Mayer is totally cool and I liked his appearance in the show. Though I don't ship CatNick I liked the scene between Catherine and Nick. Catherine supposed rape didn't deliver the emotional *GASP* that is should have as she remained in the motel room after doing her own rape kit and you could tell in the bar that there was something in her drink. Pretty good for the new season though.

Greg was in this for about 2 minutes of the episode. That was what was wrong with this episode. For an episode to be really good there needs to be lot of Greg and there wasn't. Yes, I know he'll be in the next episode a lot but he hasn't even been in the season that much. He was working the case with Warrick but it was nearly all Warrick. Warrick's still cool though.
The cases they had were interesting and I like how the bodies got up and started talking to each other. I laughed when the guy tried smoking. The makeup and visual effects were good for the scene in the morgue. The kids walking through the morgue with Grissom were a nice extra to the episode. The girl asking all the questions actually made me think of Sara. We learnt how Grissom and Sara meet in this episode and I'm sure at the lecture Grissom gave she asked a lot of questions.
They got the least interesting one done first as you knew it was the guy as soon as you heard he left the table. I liked Warrick's (and Greg's) case and that actually kept you guessing. Nick's was slightly weird but still entertaining and you felt sorry for the wife as her husband died for nothing. The best case of the night was of course the chainsaw one with Grissom and Sara.
Chainsaw!!!! Yes I enjoyed that particular scene a lot. The look on Grissom's face when Sara came at him with a chainsaw was priceless. Unless they had had a fight I'm sure Sara wouldn't want to kill Grissom. I also liked how Sara mentioned how they first meet and there were a lot of flirty moments between both of them. Brass still continues to be the king on one liners. Still waiting for next week’s episode though...

I actually feel rather sorry for Catherine. Her ex-husband dies then it looks like she might have been raped, her daughter gets kidnapped, then to end the episode Sam gets shot and killed. Yes, Sam pretty much was asking for it with the shady people he obviously hangs out with but Catherine being there is what makes me sorry for her. I don't know if I like the old Lindsey or the new Lindsey, currently I'm going to say the new Lindsey because she isn't a whiny as the old one. The scene when Sara went to see was one of the best scenes I think ever in CSI. Both actresses gave great performances. Sara though, what was up with those sunglasses?
The case of the dead rocker was good. Doc Robbins and Grissom rocking out to that song then the blunt force trauma song (which I put on my iPod) was one of the funniest things ever. The model of the scene is kinda creepy and the doll at the end was even creepier. I hope that something to do with the doll comes up again. The scene where Grissom and Sara were looking at the model and Ecklie tells Sara "of course you do" was interesting. Does Ecklie know? It was obvious that Grissom and Sara thought so.
Overall it was a good episode and I look forward to the episodes that will be following this season, especially if that means that there will be even more character episodes.

My son, demonstrating the different ways that planes crash. I have no idea where he came up with it, or why he wanted me to get a video.
