I got a ticket today... GRRR!!

I was pulled over and got a ticket today.

No, not for speeding.

And no, not for talking on my cellphone without an earpiece (That's the new law in CA).

It was for not wearing a seatbelt!! C'mon, now. I was only a block away from home. Really now.

Okay, so I should have been wearing it. And yes, it's not a moving violation so it doesn't get reported to my insurance, doesn't raise my rates and I don't have to go to traffic school or anything. (I actually got one a few years ago for the same thing and it's like a $25 fine).

Anyway, it was my fault, but honestly, I don't think the cop guy would've even noticed. He pulled up next to me (I was at a red light) and I realized, "Uh oh, I don't have a seat belt." So what did I do, I put it on. I guess that was the giveaway. I should've left it alone because he wouldn't have noticed.

I know its all for safety and everything but this is just stupid. If I want to die in my car, then let me. Don't make me pay $ to learn a lesson. GRRR!!

Soaps Sexiest Men

TV Guide Network aired its SOAP's SEXIEST MEN special and some of my favorites made the cut: Greg Vaughan #3, David Fumero #6, Jason Thompson #11. Greg and David are 2 of my favorites and I'm glad Greg ranked ABOVE Cameron Mathison, whose appeal I just don't get. Yeah, he has killer abs, but he can't act his way out of a paper bag.

And why did old-timer Jack Wagner make the list?

Here's the complete list:
#25 Brandon Barash (Johnny Zacchara, General Hospital)
#24 Darin Brooks(Max Brady, Days of Our Lives)
#23 Texas Battle (Marcus Walton, Bold & the Beautiful)
#22 Dylan Bruce (Dr. Chris Hughes, As the World Turns)
#21 Sterling Sulieman (Dre Woods, All My Children)
#20 John Driscoll (Cooper Bradshaw, Guiding Light)
#19 Brandon Beemer (Owen Knight, Bold & the Beautiful)
#18 Shawn Christian (Dr. Daniel Jonas, Days of Our Lives)
#17 John-Paul Lavoisier (Rex Balsom, One Life to Live)
#16 Kyle Lowder (Rick Forrester, Bold & the Beautiful)
#15 Daniel Cosgrove (Bill Lewis, Guiding Light)
#14 Aiden Turner (Aidan Devane, All My Children)
#13 Agim Kaba (Aaron Snyder, As the World Turns)
#12 Thad Luckinbill (J.T. Hellstrom, Young & the Restless)
#11 Jason Thompson (Dr. Patrick Drake, General Hospital)
#10 Jay Kenneth Johnson (Philip Kiriakis, Days of Our Lives)
#9 Austin Peck (Brad Snyder, As the World Turns)
#8 Krisoff St. John (Neil Winters, Young & the Restless)
#7 Jack Wagner (Dominick Marone, Bold & the Beautiful)
#6 David Fumero (Cristian Vega, One Life to Live)
#5 Joshua Morrow (Nicholas Newman, Young & the Restless)
#4 Cameron Mathison (Ryan Lavery, All My Children)
#3 Greg Vaughan (Lucky Spencer, General Hospital)
#2 James Scott (E.J. DiMera, Days of Our Lives)
#1 Daniel Goddard (Cane Ashby, Young & the Restless)

I HATE Perez Hilton!!

Okay, this is a bizarre rant for sure, but I absolutely 100% cannot stand blobber/blogger Perez Hilton (real name: Mario Lavendiera). I admit I used to visit his site regularly for the celeb gossip, but he has gotten out of control. I'm just tired of his antics. Maybe I've matured, but the whole drawing penises and cocaine dots on people's faces and labelling celebs as either FAT or GAY has gotten old.

Today, he had the nerve to call Eva Longoria Parker FAT. FAT?! Can you believe that? Especially since he himself is a very large man, who's trying so hard to lose weight. He reports he's lost a little bit of that weight recently. So why does he take so much glee in labelling people FAT? In the past week, he has picked on Jennifer Garner, Jonah Hill (Superbad), and Quentin Tarantino because of their weight. But he crossed the line with Eva Longoria Parker. C'mon, she's a size 0. And it really is true that the camera adds 10 pounds. I have met some starlets in real life and they are so tiny. I could wrap my hand around their waists.

Aside from that, I realized another thing. He's a hack!! He basically steals all his stories from other infotainment websites and then just cuts and pastes him them onto his own site as "Exclusives" or "Breaking News". Seriously, a story will hit TMZ and within hours it'll show up on his site. Okay, so most stories are often repeated, especially the big stories. So how do I know he copies stuff? Because TMZ will post some obscure item about a forgotten Z-list star from years ago that no other media outlet would be interested in reporting. But sure enough, Perez will post it as "his" story filed under "Old People" within hours AFTER TMZ had already reported it. No wonder he's getting sued left and right for copyright violations.

Not only that, everything about him is fake and stolen, too. He calls himself Perez Hilton, but he basically stole the name of real celeb Paris Hilton. His real name is Mario Lavendiera. He's crowned himself, the "Queen of All Media", but he stole that from Howard Stern, who proclaimed himself, the "King of All Media." Funny thing is when Howard named himself that he had a TV show, popular radio show, best selling book and hit movie. What does Mario have? Plus, I'm pretty sure that he or his "staff" make up the bulk of his positive comments to make it look like he's getting a lot of hits per day.

But poor Perez can dish it out, but he can't take it. He not only DELETES posts that offend him, but he even BLOCKS ISP's (the identifying code for your computer that makes it traceable). He posted a link to an article about his website from the Huffington Post about how Perez is having a negative effect on John McCain's campaign because over 700 posts responded to his "Quote of the Day" post about John McCain's remarks against gay adoption. The Post said the overwhelmingly majority of posts were in Perez's favor, but they failed to mention how he deletes posts that go against him and blocks their ISPs. It's true, I wrote some remarks on his site defending celebs he picked on and my ISP was blocked, so I can't post anymore from my computer.

Oh, and for the record, he sets a bad examples for the gay community, too. In addition to "outing" celebs, some who may not even be gay he constantly drools over the teeny bopper group, the Jonas Brothers. For the record, Perez is 30; Nick Jonas is 15. He's twice his age!! Yet he rips on T.R. Knight for having a younger boyfriend? Plus, he reinforces every negative stereotype in his online videos (the squeeling, his effeminate manner, etc.)

Anyway, I can't stand him and will no longer be visiting his site.

Editors Out of Control: Locking Threads and Rejecting Valid Submissions!!

This is my personal rant on TV.com. To all editors of TV shows on this site, I hope you take the time to read this. Some editors of TV shows are out of control. (If this doesn't apply to you, then don't take offense. But if it does, then you know whoy you are.) They need to CONTROL everything about their site. The two most extreme examples are locking threads and rejecting valid submissions.

As to locking threads, I understand the point of locking a thread where a meaningful discussion has turned into personal attacks and no longer on subject matter. Also, editors have a duty to monitor their discussions boards, otherwise, they'll be subject to discpline.

BUT... sometimes, editors go too far. They'll lock a thread that may have been pointless, but in all reality, the thread would have died on its own. In those cases, the best action is no action. It's funny to go onto a forum site and see 5 locked threads on one page. I think the readers can discern for themselves which threads are meaningful and which are fluff.

Also, editors will oftentimes lock a thread in a non-spoiler thread once a "spoiler" has been posted. But that kind of defeats the purpose. Oftentimes, once a thread has been locked, my immediate reaction is to go to that thread to see what happened. If the last post posted before the thread was locked is a spoiler, then that is the LAST thing any will see if they go to that thread. I think editors just overdo it. Oftentimes, a misplaced spoiler (and most aren't even actual, just rumor or speculation) will get lost in an otherwise meaninful discussion thread, but editors go a little overboard, in my opinion.

Secondly, as you can see from my Level and contributions, I have made a lot of contributions to the site. And being an editor myself, I know what is usually a valid or invalid submission. If something is completely WRONG, then it should absolutely be rejected. For example, if someone contributes a submission that says Brad Pitt guest starred as a waiter on an episode of "Two and a Half Men" because the waiter kinda looked like Brad Pitt, even though the end credits says John Smith, then it should be rejected.

BUT... some editors are out of control with the reject button. They will look for excuses to reject anything, even perfectly valid submissions. If a submission is partly wrong (such as a misspelling), but is mostly correct, editors do NOT have to reject the submission. They can correct the incorrect part or EDIT it, if you will. After all, they are EDITORS (not rejectors). But some are either too lazy or just don't know how. I'm convinced the majority just don't want to and actually get off on rejecting because they're on some power trip. The thing that bugs me the most is getting a rejection with a note from an editor saying please re-submit with the following corrections. What the Hell?! The point of being editor is to fix what you think is wrong (and oftentimes they are wrong themselves), not just reject everything. If you don't want the job of being editor, then resign and let someone who's willing to do the work take over.

Great episode! Little J. finally gets her comeuppance when her rich new boyfriend is spotted kissing another guy, by Dan. Jenny was so out of control, she blatantaly disobeyed her father to his face by attending a party and then dared him to do something about it. (If I were the dad, I would've pulled her smug ass out of Constance so face and sent her to Brooklyn parochial school.) In the end, Jenny admitted defeat to Queen B., I wonder how long that'll last.

Georgina showed some more of her evil colors by cruelly outing Serena's little brother, Eric, in front of his family. That BIATCH!! Thankfully, it looks like Eric'll be fine. However, the Sarah thing with Dan and Jessica was a snooze. But Serena's confession at the end that she killed someone was a bombshell.

My only quibble about this episode was the absence of Chace (Nate) and Ed too. While they explained Chuck's absence, Nate wasn't even mentioned, not even by his new flame, Jessica.

I didn't know what to expect as fans supposedly voted for the "Best" sketches. I wasn't sure if the fan vote would actually count, or if LOGO or TBGSS would just feature the sketches that featured all cast members prominently. While I don't agree that some of the sketches chosen were the "best" (e.g., the Jenny Craig parody), it did prominently feature the best players - Nicol Paone, Kate McKinnon and Johnny McGovern and featured one of the funniest sketches ever on the show, "Tranny 911," featuring former cast member Michael Serrato. I found it telling that not one of Stephen Guarino's characters made the cut. He was barely in it except for supporting roles in the "Dynasty" and "Elaine Stritch" sketch. This proves what I've been saying all along. He is the weak link in the cast. If they continue for a 3rd season, they'd be smart to drop him and bring back Michael Serrato in his place.

They should have aired this on April Fool's Day. Then maybe it would have been funnier. But this mockumentary fails to find any humor in a behind-the-scenes farce about turning the show straight. Maybe it was funny in its concept, but it fails in its execution. I wasn't exactly sure the point of it, other than to fill a half hour of programming and maybe act as a bonus feature on the soon-to-be released season 2 DVD, as the mockumentary is supposed to take place prior to the start of season 2 (kind of like how the last Noah's Arc special "previewing" Season 2 aired after the season finale).

I wasn't too happy with this episode. The Ron Odyssey sketch was not funny at all. The first sketch in season one was mildly amusing, but like most recurring sketches, it becomes less funnier each time. This time was no exception. I think Stephen Guarino is TBGS's weakest link so to feature him in a recurring sketch that's not funny is a mistake.

The Grandma Bell sketch was basically nothing more than an old lady screaming obscenities.

I thought the "I Like Lucy" sketch had promise as Nicol Paone did a good imitation of Lucy and Paolo Andino as a native Cuban could do a passable Ricky, but I think the sketch fell flat, especially in the ending that went nowhere. It seems to coincide with Rosie's ending remarks that it's hard to end sketches.

The other sketches I didn't find that funny either, the Star Jones/Little Shop of Horrors wasn't that funny. Neither was the WBNA cheerleaders.

If the show wants to continue for a third season, they need to feature more of its funnier players - Nicol Paone, Kate McKinnon and Jonny McGovern.

The episode was okay, but nothing exceptionally funny stood out. The Naldo sketch was okay, but, like most recurring sketches, tended to repeat the same lines from the previous sketch. Here, Naldo appeared as an airline baggage checker and made sexual innuendos while lifting the baggage as his fans gathered around. But some of the same jokes and almost identical lines from the previous Naldo sketch were repeated so it was not quite as funny the second time around.

The "Coalminer's Mountain" movie parody was funny, I especially liked Colman Domingo's impersonation of Morgan Freeman. The "Color Me Reality" sketch was somewhat funny for those who appreciate the skewering of the overdramatization of "reality" shows. It also showcased the show's attempts for more broad-based comedy (a la "Saturday Night Live") that aren't directly focused on GLTB themes.

The "Anal Breeze" sketch just wasn't funny to me. It seemed kind of forced and didn't seem to go anywhere. It would have been more funny if the "Anal Breeze" lady was embarrassed or humiliated by being outed in public in front of her family, but she seemed okay with it, so what was the point?

Another bad sketch was the Barbara Bush "pearl necklace" sketch. I didn't get it. I'm guessing the humor was that "pearl necklace" was supposed to be a euphemism for sex. But it wasn't funny at all.

All in all, it was just okay...
